《Kenosis of the Light Bearer》Chapter 52 - Myrmecoleon II

Lucif ducked behind it but the Myrmecoleon quickly turned its head and dove towards Lucif. It was incredibly agile and could turn quite easily. Lions weren’t very good at 180 degree turns but it had six legs now and a flexible spine. It was a true predator that not many could match, it was a shame that it was fated to die.
“Shit..”
Lucif jumped to the side again, his adrenaline rushing through his body. He dodged, flipped and rolled as the crowd started to boo.
“Fight back you cub, don’t disrespect your ancestors with such weak actions. Fight to the death!”
‘Fight to the death? I just got to this world. Bugger off you old fart.’
Lucif jumped from side to side, swerved left to right. Ran passed a few obstacles, he jumped, he dived and he dodged like a mad man. The Myrmecoleon approached again and used its claws to lash out. As it did that, Lucif felt his senses heighten as he dodged to the left and then pushed off the ground and leaped over 3 meters.
When he turned around he saw claw marks cut deep into the dirt.
“M…magic!”
The beast could use magic to extend its claw attack range. It was a true predator, something Lucif had never faced off against before. But he wasn’t nervous or even afraid. This was only a game so the threat of death wasn’t real. He knew that his best bet was to be close to the target. If he opened himself up like that again, a single air slice could split him into pieces.
He ran up to the monster and struck the back of its exoskeleton. Ting.
A metallic sound was heard as the Myrmecoleon easily shook off the attack, then turned around and sliced through the air once again. The attack was too fast and Lucif couldn’t dodge the strike in time. His entire left arm was cut clean off.

“Argh, you damn beast!”
The pain he felt was real, it was too real. “Can’t you turn down the pain settings or something? This is only a game. It’s only a bloody game!”
He reached down, picked up some mud and threw it at the eyes of Myrmecoleon. Then while it was blinded he ran and slid underneath it, he clutched his hooves together and kicked up using all his might into the stomach of the Myrmecoleon.
“Reeehhh….”
The beast screeched as its stomach was hit fiercely. Despite his strike, there was not much damage because its shell was incredibly hard. But the shockwaves of power still travelled through its stomach and hit its internals causing it to gag and spew.
In the end it was unable to throw up. Instead its muscles convulsed, tensed and screamed as it involuntarily tried to gag and spew over and over again. It was like some force had overtaken its body. Its muscles expanded and pressed against its exoskeleton but couldn’t break through its tough outer layer.
Its body shook and then half-digested Minotaur parts flew from its mouth and landed on the ground, they were covered in sticky green mucus and sizzled under the sunlight. A putrid smell followed shortly after and then something even more shocking to the eye happened. It spewed out its own organs!
Its heart, liver, guts and stomach were all pushed out. Its eyes drooped from its sockets and hung like a yoyo. It quivered and then fell to the ground dead, lifeless and without a breath remaining.
“D..did I do that?”
Lucif would’ve wiped his eyes to make sure he was seeing things right, but he only had one arm left and it was being used to stop the bleeding. At this rate he was definitely going to bleed to death.

A green light shone above his head and he felt enlightened as the light entered his forehead. This was followed by a message which appeared shortly after.
“Your Minotaur blood runs strong. You feel the soul of your enemy seeping into your pores. You have gained precious experience from this fight and you feel your spirit power has been greatly refined from the battle. You are ready to break through. It is suggested you meditate as soon as possible.”
“Woooh!” The crowd erupted as cheers spread across the colosseum.
The Minotaur Lord jumped down from his booth and landed on the ground with an earth shaking sound.
“Huu, huu… This calfling has killed the Myrmecoleon. This makes the 6th calfling to succeed his trial by fire this month. Your actions bring honor and glory to the Cow God. The Elders will now decide your name.”
The Minotaur Lord looked over to the Elders that were eagerly discussing before stopping and turning back to Lucif. “Your muscles are lacking in strength but your speed is acknowledgeable. From this point forth your name shall be Tere Kau. That means Fast Cow!”
The elder’s voice had a strong accent, the Minotaur’s rolled their ‘R’s’ and dragged their ‘Au’s’. If he was to say it in his own accent, it would come out as Terry Co.
Lucif almost squirted milk from his nose when he heard his name. ‘Terry Co the fast cow? What kind of stupid name is that?’
He was about to say something but then chose not to, it was only a game. So his name wasn’t really that important.
“This is your first weapon, a fast weapon for a fast cow.” The Minotaur Lord handed Lucif a bullwhip which he grabbed and clutched tightly in his hand.
‘Are they being comical or are they being serious?’ Lucif took their weapon and started to practice cracking it. After a few tries he realized he had no talent with a bullwhip so he tied it to his waist. He would practice again later but it didn’t feel natural to him at the moment. He wouldn’t use it too often in the future, but that didn’t mean it didn’t have any future uses. Just off the top of his head, he could think of a few comical uses for it.
“Your strength is at the first bottleneck, meditate and condense your strength for your breakthrough. Go now, go and train.”
The Minotaur Lord lifted up Lucif and tossed him into the air. But the Minotaur Lord overestimated the amount of strength he put into his throw and Lucif flew over 100 meters high.
“W…what the hell.” He flew through the air like a comet and smashed into the ground with incredible force creating a large crater.
The screen went red and a message appeared in front of him. “You have died and your character has been deleted. You may play again in 24 hours.”
Beneath those words was a countdown timer that read: 23 hours, 59 minutes and 56 seconds
“My character was deleted? What the actual fuck.”
