Grandu

Specialty – ores and minerals

Description – mining province focusing on processing ores mined within the continent. Largest exporter of iron, copper, coal, tin and adamantium. Mithril and Orihalcom veins are absent in Grandu.

Biggest client – Drigor.

Economy is booming with increased demand for metals resulting from ongoing war between drgor and the 3 avian provinces.

Wanda

Specialty – fishing and marine transport

Description – Peaceful province focussing on a booming fishing trade, and developing faster and bigger ships. Imports raw materials mainly from Shearwood and Grandu via sea routes.

Biggest clients – Isana and Grandu.

Shearwood

Specialty – wood, herbs, spices, staple agricultural food and restorative potions. Best alchemists in the main continent.

Description - Economy is a little affected by occasional skirmishes with Drigor or Rashael armies. Still trades with warring provinces despite the attacks. Imports metals from Grandu and weapons from Drigor.

Biggest clients – Wanda and Grandu

Rashael

Specialty - Magic weapons and armour, Healing services, agricultural food products, meats and fruits.

Description – Economy has been badly affected by the ongoing war with Drigor. Attempts to pressure Shearwood into stopping trade with Drigor is not working. Actively supports Luna and Fiora by reducing trade tax and supplying both provinces with priests and magic weapons.

Biggest client – Grandu, Isana and Luna

Drigor

Specialty – Wood, agriculture, weapons and armour. Best blacksmiths in the continent.

Description – Her economy is booming with under the table trades with her enemies for weapons and armour. Drigor could be said to thrive on war and chaos, but her citizens are not happy. Relations with Grandu are turning sour as Grandu intentionally jacks up the prices of metals. Original reason for war was refusal by Rashael to sell it magic weapons, thus sparking the war with the 3 avian provinces.

Biggest client – Fiora, Luna and Rashael

Fiora

Specialty – mithril and Orihalcom ores.

Description – Only found in extreme heat, mithril and orhalcom veins are found in abundance within the largest volcano on the continent, where the titan Fiora is rumoured to be dwelling. Sole exporter of the only 2 mana conductive metals. The increased demand for magic armour by her sister provinces are leading to the veins being mined out, causing a gradual economic slur.

Biggest clients – Rashael, Luna Grandu and Desir

Luna

Specialties – magus training, fishing, tourism.

Description – The island off the coast of Luna has the highest density of natural mana in Aioa, and is even higher when the blue moon is out. The top magus training academy is on the island and school fees is not cheap. Multiple off-shore islets provide great scenery that attracts travellers from all over the world. War has not affected her economy too significantly.

Biggest clients – Mages from all over Aioa, Isana, Grandu.

Isana

Specialties – Tourism, Ice, Warm apparels, best sculptors in Aioa

Description – Not affected by the ongoing war, Isana focuses on attracting travellers to visit their ice museums, enjoy cold weather all year round and climb ice mountains for the view. It mainly transports food and fish from Rashael and Wanda, but is self-sufficient in meats and pelts. Isana produces the best warm apparels and blankets in Aioa.

Biggest Clients – Wanda, Rashael, Luna and Shearwood

Desir

Specialty – none

Description – Small continent isolated from the rest of Aioa, mostly self-sufficient. Does not actively carry out trade with other provinces but is not a stranger to the occasional merchant.

The 3 updates regarding kiefer's notes are actually all the things that Kiefer had learnt from Buffon in the 2 days that they traveled together.

Being a merchant guild leader, Buffon was especially knowledgeable on the workings of the world, especially in provinces that he 's traveled to. You can think of these side chapters as what Kiefer had written down inside his book. Parts 2 and 3 will be on politics and military composition respectively but they will be out much later.

Unfortunately, Buffon is quite lacking in the magic department so magic will be covered in another section called Kiefer's hypothesis.
