《The Demon Lord is Bored》Chapter Eleven: A Favor

This is the last chapter for today.. I really enjoyed writing these chapters, I suppose I'm like Erebus because I was pretty entertained. Hah. I'm so funny. I'll be back tomorrow, but I won't have as much free time as today. I'll probably do a double release, though... Anyway, here you guys go.
“Um,” Heather said, “no thanks.”
“W-what?” Triton gasped.
“We just want to leave,” Mur continued. “Could you tell us the way out?”
Triton shifted uncomfortably in his throne. This was not the outcome he had planned. He had been waiting here for a couple centuries for somebody to come and challenge him.
He was expecting people filled with greed to come to him and demand for his riches.
Erebus sensed this so he said, “Eh? Isn’t that unfair guys? Lord Triton has been waiting for so long, right?”
“Yes.” Triton stared directly at Erebus.
Heather made a face. “But isn’t this the end of the dungeon? We missed out on a lot of it, so I’d rather go back and explore it from the beginning.”
“Oh...” Erebus nodded his understanding. “That certainly makes sense.” Erebus turned his head to Triton. “Will you show us the exit, then? Lord Triton.”
The Exiled Emperor slammed his triton. “Of course! But, I have one request.”
“Tch.” Tear narrowed her eyes.
“And what would that be?” Erebus questioned. Heather and co. all shared looks of respect towards Erebus. He was conversing with the Exiled Emperor as if it was a normal day conversation.
“I need you to deliver something to a certain person.”
Vyne narrowed his eyes. Did this lower-life form think his master was some type of errand-boy?
“What do you need us to deliver?” Heather piped up.
Triton perked up. “You’ll do it?”
“Well... it depends.” Heather was a little apprehensive on what he wanted them to do.
“I need you to deliver a message to the Demon Emperor Yvick of the Lower Continent.”
Heather’s eyes bugged out. “Wh--”
“We will do it.” Erebus didn’t falter, this wasn’t a big deal to him. Yvick was an acquaintance of his, after all.

Luke turned his head toward Erebus. “Erebus... there’s no way you can do such a thing.”
Vyne glared at Luke. “We’re from the Lower Continent, remember? Going there is no problem.”
“But...”
“We’ll do it on our own,” Vyne said. “These four aren’t coming with us.” He pointed to Heather and co.
“I see!” Triton smiled (or at least it looked like one). “You four may leave,” he said with a wave of his hand.
A magic circle appeared underneath Heather and co. and they dropped through it.
“That’s efficient,” Erebus said.
Triton laughed. “Hello, Erebus.” He rested his massive head on one hand. “I haven’t seen you in a few centuries.”
“Thank you for playing along,” Erebus responded.
“Haha! I thought I recognized you when you all entered, but I knew who it was when I heard that voice.”
Vyne made a face at Triton’s booming voice. They get rid of one loud person to gain another. Vyne hated these type of personalities. “What’s the message you need us to deliver, fish?” Vyne tapped his foot impatiently.
Triton sighed. “Your personality is still terrible, Vyne. But it’s still nice to see your face.”
“Pah, I can’t say the same about you. I was hoping that you would have dried up and died by now.”
“I’m sorry to disappoint you by still being alive,” Triton said in a wry tone. “After being exiled by my people I wandered around for a bit, but then I discovered this nice dungeon.”
The exile Triton was talking about happened during the First Great War. A war that had raged on for a thousand years between all the races save for the dragons. The dragons had only joined in the end to finish the nuisance. Also, one of the races (the angelic race) had gotten cocky and tried to challenge the dragons.
Triton was used as a scapegoat by his own ‘loyal’ subjects and exiled. When Triton had been wandering around for a century or two he had met Vyne, who at the time was only three centuries old.

The two clashed instantly.
Triton and Erebus had met when Triton was the Emperor and then another time a few centuries ago. They had a decent relationship, mostly due to their equally laid-back personalities. Though, Triton was prone to anger even faster than Erebus.
The only person Triton hadn’t met was Tear, who he was currently examining with a mild interest.
“A High Human?” he said after a while.
“Yes,” Tear answered.
“I haven’t seen one of your kind in a while... I apologize for what has happened.”
Tear nodded her head in sadness. “Thank you.”
A silence settled over them.
“The message you wanted us to send the Yvick was?” Erebus questioned. He was actually looking forward to seeing Yvick, the last time they had spoke was after he dealt with Stone and Magnus.
“Ah, yes. I need you to tell him the weapon he wished for me to create was complete.”
“Oh?’
Triton was known for his skill at creating powerful magical weapons. The one he held in his hand was an example of that. The triton’s glow was due to the immense amount of mana poured into it.
“Look.” Triton stretched out a webbed hand and another magic circle appeared on the ground.
Ever so slowly, a large lance and shield appeared. Both of them emitting a greenish glow and the metal that constructed them was completely black. The weapon had a powerful impact in the room as the mana in the air seemed to be sucked towards it.
“Wow...” Tear said silently.
“Yes, wow!” Triton exclaimed. “I spent centuries crafting this magnificent set!”
“Yvick does certainly love things like these.” Erebus eyed the lance and shield with a small bit of disgust. It had a nasty feeling to it. “What a repulsive creation.”
“Isn’t it!” Triton sounded proud. “I made it this way as per Yvick’s request.”
“So why don’t you just deliver it yourself?” Vyne snapped, they weren’t his delivery-boys.
“I can’t leave this dungeon! What if some more Questers come to challenge me?”
“Not my problem,” Vyne hissed.
“Quiet, Vyne.” Erebus walked towards the lance and shield. “A visit to Yvick could prove entertaining,” he said, stopping directly in front of the two disgusting creations.
“So you’ll do it?” Triton pressed, leaning forward slightly. “I’ll make you a weapon, too, if you so desire Erebus?”
“No thanks,” Erebus declined almost instantly. He didn’t want any of Triton’s flashy weapons.
“Haha! What a shame.” Triton snapped his fingers and the lance and shield disappeared, and in their place to mana stones appeared. “There you go. Please deliver it safely, and give Yvick my regards.”
“Of course.” Erebus picked the small stones off the ground and placed the in the pouch he had attached to his hip.
“Send us out, your aura is sickening,” Vyne snapped. Being around Triton just put him in a bad mood.
“Very well!” Triton snapped his fingers and similar to Heather and co. magic circles appeared beneath them and they dropped through.
It was a form of [Teleportation Magic]. A specialty magic for the Seafolk.
The trio reappeared in the Quester’s Guild. When they arrived, Heather and co. were already there.
“Erebus!” Heather jumped up and ran over to them. “Are you all okay?”
Vyne took a step back at her closeness. “We’re fine, the Exiled Emperor Triton had no intention of harming us.”
Luke appeared next to her. “You... you three are certainly amazing. To be fine after meeting the Exiled Emperor. He’s known for his... anger.”
Tear pretended to swoon a little. “I’m sorry, we’re very exhausted... if you could allow us to rest?”
“O-oh, yes, we’ll speak more tomorrow.”
She gave him a weak smile. “Thank you.”
They said their goodbyes and had to pry a teary Ern off of Vyne.
Upon their leaving, Vyne gave Tear an approving look. “You certainly improved your acting skills.”
She smirked at him. “Even though I absolutely despise you. You’re a pretty good actor, so I used you as a role model.”
Vyne laughed. “I don’t know if I should be honored or disgusted by you saying that.”
