Chapter 6 - Dungeon (Floor 1)

Midnight;
He thoroughly studied his panel, examining his progress while lying in bed.

He sensed Aunt Hilda approaching the door, he quickly pretended to be asleep. Aunt Hilda slowly opened the door and started moving towards him, she roused him out of his bed.
Aunt Hilda, Why are you here?
Meet me at the training grounds in an hour and be quiet. She then walked out of the room.
*What is she up to?*
Straightening his hair, he freshened himself up in the washroom, putting on some warm woolen clothes. He silently crept out of room and down the stairs, heading into the kitchen to pick up a late night snack. Getting hold of some fruits, he quickly ate them to satisfy his hunger.
Striding out of the mansion to the training grounds, the night was especially cold, as condensed air appeared before him, every time he let out a breath.
The lake illuminated by the moonlight gave off a wonderful sight; he stood there gazing at it for a few minutes, when he noticed Aunt Hilda approaching him. She was wrapped in a thick sweater, her silver her glistened under the moonlight, giving the impression of a cold beauty.
Why are we here, Aunt Hilda?
For Training purposes
She suddenly grasped his right hand; a brilliant light girdled around them as their surroundings distorted. The landscape had changed, tress coated with snow, mountains jutted into view besieging them, the ground blanketed in a thick layer of ice and a large dark cave stood before them.
Where are we, Aunt Hilda?

The snow region, southward of the human continent, you see that cave over there; it is a rank 5 dungeon. Let me explain, Dungeons are ranked from 1 to 10 based on their difficulty, 1 being the easiest and 10 being the hardest.
So, why bring me here?
I want you to conquer that dungeon as part of your training!
He just nodded at the proposal.
Aunt Hilda materialized a bag pack, handing it over to him.
This pack has all you need to survive, a pair of warm sweaters, a tooth brush, an empty water container and a dagger, but you have to hunt your own food, Aunt Hilda said
He rummaged through his pack, checking the contents. Satisfied with the items, he hauled the bag on his back.
She then handed him a small square sheet of paper engraved with a design.
Use this when you want to return back home, Aunt Hilda spoke. Then she vanished in a flash of bright light.
Taking out his dagger he moved towards the dark cave, all of a sudden the foul stench of dead corpses and rotten flesh attacked his nostrils. Ignoring the stench, he moved onwards.
In the cave;
Walking inside the cave, he sensed the presence of a life form before him; he moved towards it, the creature lunged at him, biting at his neck and tearing out a chunk of flesh, blood sprayed all around.
He shrugged of the pain; he no longer had to put up a façade.
Hyper Regeneration activated
His torn flesh instantly regenerated, releasing his overwhelming killing intent, he froze the target in terror, catching the small creature by its neck. He brought the creature to his mouth; tearing at its flesh with his teeth while swallowing whole chunks of its meat.

Do you want to absorb Night Vision?

Yes, he uttered
The cave got brighter as his eyes adjusted to his dim surroundings. He moved onwards, along the way he encountered a bunch of slimes that dissolved his skin as he got into contact, slashing at them with his dagger he quickly disposed of them. He breezed past the waves of monsters, finally reaching a dome shaped room.
Rotting corpses littered the floor; the stench of dry blood arose. Studying the room, spears protruded from the walls.
Some kind of arena, he thought to himself
*whack*
A tail slammed against his rips sending him crashing towards the wall, a spear impaled his lungs, holding him above the ground. He looked around for the opponent, as blood continued to seep from his wound. Spotting the target, a salamander, he had read about tem in a book, it was thrice his height, having red irises with a long tail armored with spikes. It peered at him cautiously.
He grinned while facing his opponent, detaching himself from the spear; he dropped to the ground, his wounds instantly mending. He dashed towards the salamander, clutching his dagger, swinging it against its skin. It barely left a scratch, before breaking into two.
Tossing the now useless dagger from his hand, he readied himself into a fighting stance; the salamander abruptly ignited itself in flames. Charging at him, it used it tail to stab him, however to no avail, sidestepping all the attacks he moved right in front of it, impaling his mana cloaked fist into it, he let his mana rampage with its body as it she started to rip, at then it exploded, guts splashing all around.
It has been so long since I enjoyed such a fight, he laughed
Rummaging through all the spread meat, he spotted a glowing object. Approaching towards it, a red orb lay on the floor emanating warmth. Grabbing it, he brought it to eye level, to examine.
*Ding*
Essence Orb: Contains a rare fire elemental within
*Gulp*
He swallowed the orb………………………..After a span of few minutes, warmth spread through his body, a sudden feeling of euphoria filled his mind.

Fire encompassed him; he twisted and turned the pillars of flame to test his command over them. Thinking about his lack of a melee weapon, he devised a scheme.
Compressing a huge amount of flames into his palm, he visualized a long broad sword, he felt the fire moving and squirming to reconstruct itself into his desired object, the flames started to solidify as it started molding to form a handle and a sharp edge.
*Ding*
you have created the Sub Skill: Blaze sword [100 MP/s]
He held onto the fiery red sword, swinging it around to check its weight and balance. As soon he was done with the testing, he dispersed the sword.
*cluck* *cluck*
The sounds of moving gears caught his attention, as a hole opened at the center of the room, inviting him further into the darkness.
With a dash, he lunged into the dark void.

Gateway to Nexus (Dropped)
A story about a relatively normal young man named Sebastian Frost and his adventures in a new VR world by the name of Nexus. Unlike most he has a definite goal and that is to prove that his favorite class is also viable in this new world. The class? Well it's a mage of course. Events not of his own choosing, ends up sending him down a dark path of growth and self-discovery, one that he never could have predicted. The mature tag is there for several reasons, for now it's a precaution, but at some point there will probably appear both sexual and violent content.

Ars Magica
Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)

Looping, oh the fun! (Naruto)
Naruto and Sasuke are looping, and they're bored. They've already destroyed Konoha 15 times, taken over the world 15 times, gathered a harem 20 times and failed each time, joined ANBU 78 times, created their own villages over 30 times... What should they do now?For those of you who don't know what looping is, basically, it's time traveling done over and over and over again. Sometimes, it can also be dimension jumping (which appeared in my story). Something always triggers looping. Most of the time the trigger is death. If a character dies, he will wake up back in time. Do things, die again, and wake up back in the same time again. Or in some circumstances, wake up and find oneself in another dimension. See "Naruto Omake Files Innortal Style" for reference. Recommend Chapter 7 New Intros.
