Chapter 28 - Wormholes

AN: Almost done with the move.

Overlooking the sight of the planet crumbling into space debris, Tetra returned back to his dormant state. Lucifer felt the corruption flare up in his body infecting more of his soul fragments. He felt Tetra`s link with his body growing stronger the more the corruption spread.

As soon as Lucifer got possession of his body, mind wrecking pain assaulted him which caused him to spit out a mouth full of blood.

As he examined his body, he noticed the black ooze was integrating in his blood vessels and destroying them from within. He once again gagged out black blood

Continuous pangs of pain assailed him at every second; similar to a knife getting repeatedly stabbed into his abdomen. As he overlooked the almost ravaged planet, a red glow shot towards him from the meteorite sized rubble. It stopped a few inches in front of him; the maroon colored crystal throbbed eerily.

Extending his hand, he grasped it and in one gulp swallowed it whole. It was rapidly guzzled into his body instantly halting the progression of the black ooze in the blood stream. The black ooze went still within him. However, no change occurred to his body even after he had absorbed the crystal and it took him by surprise. Nonetheless, he had gained the ability to generate wormholes.

He was quite downtrodden at the results. Once again the sudden pulling sensation grabbed at him, pulling him towards the veil separating the planes. He was helpless against the force, and relinquished any effort to challenge it. The blinding light enveloped his sight and he found himself in the dungeon once again.

Scanning his surrounding he noticed various shrubberies growing across the walls, and the previous chamber walls had cracks muddled all over them. Looking at his pocket watch, he noticed that five years had passed since the incidence but he had been in the other plane for barely a day.

Sighing he gazed at the cracks, which had overran the chambers and a white steam was wheezing out from those fissures.

Proceeding through the caves and chambers he finally departed the dungeon. What came in sight was an overgrown forest, beasts he had not encountered before swarmed the jungle and they emanated a significant quantity of mana from their bodies. Seeing the changes he guessed, that a lot had occurred during the time he was not present.

Progressing through the jungle, he encountered quite a few beasts that had high leveled attribute cores. However, as soon as they appeared they were smashed into a pulp of flesh with a swat of his hand. After his massacre, no other beasts dared to ambush him. Shrieks of flying beasts could be heard from the skies above.

Exiting the forest, he saw a stone paved road leading to some location. With patience he waited at the edges for a carriage to pass by. He had planned to use the wormhole ability but as he visualized the location as Aunt Hilda`s manor he couldn`t get it to activate. To verify the ability worked he created a wormhole back in the dungeon, and he instantly materialized to his former location.

The wormhole ability had quite the practical uses, allowing him to store a near infinite number of goods which didn`t deteriorate. However, he hadn`t discovered mainly the basics of manipulating this ability and that it sucked an astronomical amount of mana even from his pool.

The sun submerged into the horizon and soon he heard the galloping of horses from the distance. His clothes had been tattered, giving him a disheveled appearance. His waist long silver hair was ruffled. Extending his hands he gestured the carriage to stop. As it drew closer, he could clearly see the beautifully crafted patterns adorned onto it. He had quickly guessed that the carriage belonged to some noble.

Halting just before him, the carriage door swung open revealing the two passengers inside. Two beast men robed with beautifully crafted suits peered at him examining his appearance. By the looks of them, Lucifer had judged that they were surprised finding someone here.

The two beast men made a dominating pressure revealing that they were experienced in combat, and didn`t lower their guard as they faced him.

Their furs were bright golden making them look quite majestic. They scanned his appearance finally one of them heaved a sigh and their gaze turned gentle.

“Boy what are you doing here?” his tone was caring while at the same time carried a hint of worry.

“Sir, I had gotten lost for quite some time at the edges of this jungle” Lucifer appeared shaken while he spoke

“Boy tell me how your arrived here in the first place” the beast man gazes sharpened at this point distinctly looking for any changes on Lucifer`s face.

“Sir, our carriage was just passing by when a mob of beasts ambushed us and dragged our caravan into the jungle, I luckily escaped due to a few

mercenaries who bought me some time” Lucifer spoke while letting a few tears drip

The beast man rubbed his beard before glancing at his comrade, giving him a nod the beast man lost all cautiousness towards Lucifer.

“Boy, come with us we can provide you with basic food and clothing”

He was gestured into the carriage along with them, and they journeyed down the road. He stayed quite so that he wouldn`t draw suspicion on a topic he didn`t know about. A heavy rainstorm bathed all his surroundings giving the environment a surreal look. The horses frequently whined, and the beast men often gave him glances.

At that quite moment, a heavy explosion occurred before the carriage, the beast men instantly flashed out of the carriage. In front of the carriage a huge crater was created and within it a man was gruesomely bleeding his innards will all over the place. Floating in the sky, a woman robed with completely white clothes indifferently stared at the man. The rain avoided the icy beauty, curving around her.

Floating above the crater she had formed, she encased it with ice, freezing the man inside to death.

“This if for touching my sister” her cold voice permeated into the surroundings.

The beast men stayed at the side, watching the events enfold. However, as she scanned the beast men and then Lucifer, her gaze turned frigid,

she immediately brandished a sleek blade from thin air with a motion of a horizontal slice, she decapitated the bodies of the beast men that had

helped him into two pieces

Lucifer was gaped by the events that had occurred before him, why would she suddenly attack. Then her harsh eyes landed upon him.

“You, bastard” she spoke with a unforgiving tone

“What?” Lucifer spoke acting as if bewildered

“You are releasing a large amount of chaotic essence; I guess you have practiced in some sort of forbidden art” she sneered at him while pointing.

There were several abilities and essences forbidden to practice in all continents, blood manipulation, flesh harvesting and mingling with chaotic and life essence was extremely dangerous as they could drive their users insane. Many calamities had occurred leading to a large loss of life when a user tried to siege control of chaotic essence.

Lucifer guessed this was the result of Tetra linking further took his body. He couldn`t also guess what rank she was at due to her cloaking her abilities with a certain type of instrument. She drew a fighting stance in midair and the rain drops swirled around her as if being drawn by a magnetic force.

One of the rain drops shot towards his location which he dodged, as he looked at it the attacked spot, the rain drop tore the paved floor as if it was cutting paper. Imagine that piercing into a human body. This time she directed all of them to his location with no way to dodge them. He tried using a wind wall to prevent the attack but they bore easily through it.

He who had destroyed a mob of corrupted was being completely suppressed by the woman in front of him. He tried using earth essence but she just redirected his attacks or avoided them. Lucifer even resorted to blood manipulation but he couldn`t puncture the mana membrane that was protecting her.

“Done yet…” her unfazed voice resounded

She had gazed at all his attacks, and was inwardly astonished at his mastery and calm character against her attacks and even though at the

Transient rank. She had the thoughts of training him as his gifts were highly prodigious but sadly he trained in the forbidden techniques. With a sigh she gathered all the rain drops around here; ice essence was collected at the center of each raindrop. She finally had finished toying with him.

“Sad, you wasted your talent boy, or you could have even reached my level” he voice contained a tinge of despondency but it turned resolute.

Looking at her gaze he knew that the only option left was the wormhole ability. The raindrops shot at blinding speed accompanied by the force of gravity they almost reached the speed of sound. However, Lucifer abnormal reaction time could barely keep up, instantly activating his ability he created a miniature rift in front of him which completely absorbed the maelstrom of rain bullets. That was his limit he couldn`t extensively use it because he was disrupting space itself.

As he looked at the woman, she went wide eyed looking at the completely dominating ability displayed in front of her. Her eyes were completely filled with greed. Her thoughts turned into one of capturing him, Lucifer`s ability was clearly unusually powerful, to be able to cancel out even her ability corresponding his level. Over the continent powerful abilities were rare and gaining them would allow experts to fight against opponents at higher ranks. Unlike Lucifer who could directly absorb abilities others had to practice them or inherit them from their bloodlines.

However high classed abilities were extremely rare and would be only held in large sects. The woman completely unveiled her arsenal at that instance. The heavy raindrops combined to create a phoenix infused with ice essence. Its wings buffeted up a storm, she wanted to leave Lucifer unable to move but no dead. The phoenix shrieked out, creating a sound wave that devastated the nearby trees.

The woman peered at him from mid-air, the phoenix floating above her as a heavenly being.

“Boy, surrender yourself!” her voice turned commanding

Lucifer gaze was resolute and un-yielding he obviously understood that he could block that attack but at the cost of leaving himself open. Opening a rift took his complete attention and if he lost his concentration for a moment he could shred himself to nothingness. His only choice right now was to escape or get captured. The wormhole ability was unrelated to any attribute essence making it an enigma and harder to control.

Seizing this opportunity, he created two worm holes one in front of him to block the attack and the other behind him hidden from the woman`s sight. While, he was creating the wormhole he spat a mouthful of blood because he was over exerting his brain synapses to concentrate on both the wormholes. The lady looking at him preparing, ordered the phoenix to immobilize him. Creating a gust of wind, the phoenix shot at him, tearing at the wind with its rainwater formed wings. As it collided with the wormhole, it was rapidly being sucked into the rift

In a blink of an eye the phoenix`s body was almost devoured, looking at Lucifer`s pale complexion the lady took the opportunity to attack. Unexpectedly, Lucifer let go of his body and fell into the worm hole behind him, disappearing from the spot. The worm hole closed instantly leaving no room for her to follow.

The lady understood quickly that he had escaped and anger flooded her because all she had done was for naught. She decided she would hunt for him, scanning for Lucifer`s mana residual she spotted it. Taking a compass from a small purse hidden within her robe she directed a pint of his mana upon it. The arrow swirled until it stopped towards the direction which he had fled.

A thin smirk covered her lips as she looked towards his direction.

“Gotcha, brat!”

I got more ideas from reading I shall seal the heavens so i am not suffering from the writers block. Kanpai!

Q&A. He has the ability of a Justicar because he created an attribute core but his physical skills are of a transient rank but the lady is over the Justicar rank. Brigitte can`t contact him because the ring that linked him with her was damaged during the transfer. Time is disproportionate between planes.
