《They said I could become anything so I became a _____!!!》Chapter 12: Nature Is Calling!
Three days since we started building my new restingplace and we are half done. Everybody have been helping out, even Spada.
My restingplace going to be in a separate building right outide Taros room. Imagine a simple gazebo, without walls, placed on pilars about 7 feet up. On the side there's a ladder that I will use until I learn how to fly.
This is going to be even nicer than my old room! I mean, I was happy with it but it was pretty shitty. Tiny, low roof and only one window. But my family didn't have the moment to buy a bigger house. My dad worked as an ordinary office worker and my mom had been in a car accident some years before I was born and damaged her back, resulting in her being prematurely retired.
From what I heard from dad, mom used to be a dancer but she disliked to talk about it.
Once I found a tape of my mom when she used to dance. She looked so happy back then, so full of life.
Because my family was so poor I missed out on a lot of things that my friends could do. For instance, I have never gone to a amusement park, I only went to the cinema twice a year and I could not go on the class trip because you had to pay a fee. I started dealing out newspapers when I was eleven and work in the nearby convenience store when i was 14. Of course I had to lie about my age.
The kids in my class laughed at me and their parents pitied me.
But I never blamed my parents and I never hated the kids that bullied me. And when they noticed that even if I was poor I was happy they stopped teasing me and became my friends instead.
I wonder how they're doing? I time passes at the same rate here as in my old world then it must be in the midst off august now. I wonder how it went on that language test I did right before I died. I hope I got atleast C, I don't want my last grade on earth to have been F.
I wonder how that manga I follwed ended? I had read it for so long and to never know the ending... WHY!?!?!?
--------------------------------------------------
I am currently resting on top of Spadas back in the shadow of a large tree. It is really hot right now and no one have the will to work for the moment. I can't understand how Spada can stand this temperature with all her fur.

Mother-sama, Taro and Ruter is also taking a break but mother-sama and Ruter is sitting under another tree right now and is talking about something, I can't hear what.
Taro is leaning against Spada whilst reading a story book about a villager that found a princess and helped her back to her country, falling in love and later marrying the princess.
I don't like that book. Life is never that easy. To just find a royalty at random in the woods and the marrying them? BAH! But Taro seems to like it at least. Hey, that's great. Stay positive Taro, stay positive.
According to mother-sama someone accepted her lesson quest the day after she put it out. Taro and I were really happy. But the teacher should have arrived yesterday. Mother-sama contacted the guild but the teacher had already left so all we can do is wait for him... her(?) to arrive. Come on sensei, I WANT TO LEARN MAGIC! Oh and Taro needs to learn it too.
*grumble*
Huh? Did Spada just say something? No, she is asleep. And it was not Taro, he is totally engrossed in his book.
*groan*
Wait a minute... Am I the one giving off these sou- *GROAAAAAAAAAAN* Yep, it's me. Man, now that I think about it I feel really hungry. I missed breakfast this morning so I haven't had anything all day. Geez, it's still not lunch yet either.
Well I got no choice then. Time to go have a snack. Luckely I know off a place in the forrest that has a lot of fruit and berries.
I jump down from Spadas back and lands next to Taro. I squeek a little and he understands I'm off.
"Come back before lunch" he says quickle glancing over the book before continuing reading. I feel hurt Taro. You care more about a book than me? Nah, just kidding, I know how it feels when you find a good book.
Well then, off I go!
It takes about 20 minutes to get to my snack-spot my foot and If I could fly it would probably take less than five. The heat is nearly unbearable but when I get to the forest the treeshadows makes it a little better.
My mouth waters at the mere thought of the sweet berries and fruits that will soon be in my stomach.
Tralalalala I like things that are sweet~
Even if I don't have any teeth~
But even if I everything eat~

Certain standards I want to meet~
It have to sweet and good~
Or else I wont like that kind of foo-BHUMP
Because I don't watch where I walk I suddenly trip and fall to the ground.
Ouch, that hurt. If my old friends where here to see me now they would without a doubt laugh and say 'thats what you get for not looking when you walk'. Then they would help me up and we would joke about it.
But damn it, what did I fall on? I turn my head.
I have never seen an angel before but if I ever saw one they would without a doubt look like this. Fair, light skin. Long silver hair. A slender yet healthy figure. A face that looks as perfect as a snowflake.
With their eyes closes they look like a statue, motionless. They are wearing a lightbrown leather armor with a hood covering most of their head.
...
WAIT WHO IS THIS PERSON!? WHAT ARE THEY DOING OUT HERE IN THE WOODS SLEEPING!? DON'T THEY KNOW IT'S DANGEROUS!?
I need to wake this person up. I try to poke them with my beak, softly on the cheek. Nothing. Again. Nothing. Again. Nothing. Again. Nothing.
Is this person even alive. I put my head on their chest. Yup, I can hear a beating heart. So that means they are either sleeping really deep or unconscious. Who even is this person anyway? Go Appraisal!
Name: Ansgar Litherki Gerth
Titles: Ansgar of the Calm Pond, The One Who Walks With Beasts, ???
Race: Elf
Level ???
... Does it say elf?
I take of the hood. Underneath I find pointy ears, the trademark of all elves. I put the hood back on and go to a nearby tree. I start dunking my head towards the tree. Ow, I need to stop hurting myself. It's just that... Elves really get me every time. I needed a way to cancel my happiness. Just don't judge me Ok?
I heal myself before I look at the stranger, no Ansgar, again. He is still laying there, without a hint of getting up. I really want him to wake up.
Let the pecking begin!
--------------------------------------------------
Huff, puff! How can anyone sleep so deeply!? I have been trying to wake him up for over 15 minutes now! I even used my skill Peck (IT ROSE ONE LEVEL)! I slapped him in the face so many times my wings got numb. And the worst part? He didn't even take any damage. That is just an insult.
What should I do? I can't leave him, what if he gets attacked!? I am not strong enough to drag him back home either! WHAT WOULD A SMART PERSON DO!!!
Wait, there is one thing I have yet to try. I open my skill window.
Sonic Screech Lv. 1
Allows you to send out a shriek capable of shattering glass. It can be used for multiple uses if the user has enough imagination. This skill is however mostly used as an defense mechanism because it activates when the user is cornered. The higher the skill level the higher the screech.
I have never used this skill before but hey, gotta try it sometime!
Some may call this overkill but those guys have yet to try waking this gentleman over here up. I just hope that I don't destroy his eardrums or summon some nearby monster.
Ok, get ready. Sonic Screech!
What comes afterwards is a high pitched noise that is deafening. The birds in the trees flies away. All the rodents burry themselves underground. If I wasnt the one making the noise I would probably be on the ground right now, trying to cover my ears.
I shout for what feels like minutes but is probably only 10 seconds.
Nothing. Not even a flinch. I fall together on the ground. A screen appears.
//For using Sonic Screech with such intensity the said skill have leveld up x3 times! You have also gained the title Banshee that can influence your next evolution path!//
At least some good came out of it. But Ansgar is still asleep! I think I will actually cry.
Suddenly the sound of twigs breaking can be heard. Oh great, some monster probably heard me and thought it was a challenge. Well do what you want. I don't care. The sound comes closer. Ok, I do care! Please don't come hear!
The thing that appears in front of me is a gigantic beast with long viscious teeth. But I recognize this monster. It's...
"There you are lass, thought it had to you making all that noise" Ruter says, peeking up from his position on Spadas back. "Huh? Ya got a new friend to I see. Let's take him back to the house, shall we?"
I have never loved you more than now Ruter. I will without a doubt start calling you Ruter-sama.

Ortus (Old Version)
This is an old version of the heavily edited and rewritten Ortus This is the story of a woman named Riza. Riza is a woman who wakes up in a forest with nothing, remembering nothing, and on the cusp of death. The only thing she has is a weapon stuck in her side and, after a tangle with a wild boar, something called 'life aspect'. Little does she know that life magic is considered a dead-end branch and is largely outlawed across the world. None of this matters to her, of course. For one, even if someone tried to tell her, she doesn't know the language. Number two, have you heard about the sunk cost fallacy? Riza is not some chosen one, nor is given any boon she doesn't deserve. Instead, she's smart and methodical, and experiements on how to maximise every opportunity, every ability, presented to her. She doesn't just take things at face-value but instead explores just what limitations there are. This often involves maths.

Re: Dragonize
After an unexpected turn of events, Drew must now survive in a world full of challenges with life-or-death stakes. Gone are the days when the biggest problems to face were awkward small-talk at physics department luncheons or mountains of lab work; this former physicist is now adrift in an unfamiliar land without any equipment. Now, Drew's only tool (if it can be called that) is a System, which provides constant reminders of all of the things that are still out of reach for a low-level being who's just arrived in a new world. Luckily, Drew has one powerful asset when taking on the challenges of this new world: surviving violent conflict is a lot easier when you have the power of a dragon at your disposal. Still, Drew has always considered violence a last resort. Why turn to fists (or claws) when a bit of quiet consideration might expose a better path forward? Maybe a life of quiet contemplation is still within reach for this former academic researcher. ...Or maybe not. It probably won't be a life of bloodless pacifism. Additional information for those who wish to calibrate their expectations (I'm adding this based on a few comments I received from readers who feel that the story is not what they expected from a dragon-themed story): Re: Dragonize is not a power fantasy -- or at least, it's not intended to be one. Re: Dragonize is a progression fantasy starting with a protagonist who must start at the bottom (or close to it), and work gradually upwards, making incremental progress with plenty of setbacks along the way. The protagonist, as someone coming from the world of academia, tends to be cautious, methodical, and contemplative. As such, expect this story to contain more than a few digressions as the main character takes the time to pontificate on a variety of topics ranging from Newtonian physics and horology to the nature of existence and the ethical dilemmas associated with being an obligate carnivore.
