... Did I get hit by a car again? Nah this world don't have cars. Then why am I surrounded darkness. It feels familiar to how it felt when I was still in an egg, except that I can move around freely now.
Huh? This feeling... I recognize it. I look down on my body. It's my old body.
How is this possible!? Was it all a dream!? Am I hallucinating!?
Wait, why am I naked?
*gasp* Is this what I think it is? The legendary "protagonist encounter with God"??? But why do I have to be naked? God is a pervert...
Suddenly my cheast heavy. Crap, did God hear me? Sorry, but it's true, why else would I be naked right now?
Ouch, my chest keeps getting heAvier and heavier. Ok God I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I'm sure you have a good reason why I'm not wearing clothes! Owowowowow!
It's getting hard to breathe now. The pain spreads through my body until every cell feels like it is on fire. Oh crap, I think I am loosing consciousness. And I didn't even get to meet God...
"-uhuuu..."
What is that sound? It sounds like someone is... Crying?
I open my eyes. The first thing I see is Taros crying face. A mixture of tears and snot is flowing down his face and his lower lip is trembling. I can feel snot and tears dripping down on me. It feels gross but right now I don't care.
Taro, please don't cry. I don't know why you are crying but please, tell me and I will help you. I brush my head against his cheek, trying to wipe the tears. Taro gets startled and looks at me in shock. Then he starts crying agsain while hugging me tightly.
"I'm so glad you are Ok Ruth!" Taro says with shaking voice. "When you didn't wake up I thought- I thought-!"

Taro starts having trouble breathing when he's crying and I can't hear the last words. But I understand.
Before I have the chance to comfort Taro mother-sama appears behind Taro and hugs him gently.
"It's Ok Taro" she whispers, "she just needs to rest and the she will be completely fine".
Taro wipes his tears with his sleeve (even if more steadily comes to take thei place) and nods his head with a determined expression. He stops hugging me and puts me on his bed.
"Ruth, I want you to listen to me now. You are going to rest and is not allowed to be out of bed until you are fine again!" Taro points at me and when I nod to show that I kinda understand smiles and covers me with a blanket. But when he is about to sit down beside me mother-sama stops him.
"That means you are not allowed to see her until then!"
Taros mouth drop.
"But but but but-"
"You heard me Taro. No one is allowed in here except mr. Ansgar that will help Ruth refill her mana!"
"But mom-!"
Before Taro have any chance to resist, mother-sama picks him up and puts him under her arm. She then walks out the door leaving it open. Mother-sama is strong...
I can hear Taro complain but his voice becomes weaker and weaker the further away they walk.
Ha~ah. Now let's get some rest. My body feels heavy.
Hmmm? I have a feeling about I'm forgetting something...
"You really worried everyone there, Ruth." It's Ansgar.
Oh, that's right you are still here. Mother-sama said that you would help me... Refill my mana? Why do I need that and what happened before?
"Well it seems that you used up all your mana which resultad in you collapsing."
But why did I collapse just because I ran out of mana?
"Well you see, mana is the souls essence. When you run out of mana your soul becomes weak and fragile, and your body temporary shuts down to focus on producing mana to help the soul get stronger."
Oh, I get it! But is that not dangerous? I mean what if people colllapses in dangerous places?
"Well you see, most mages own a mana bracelet that seals off your mana when it's getting low so that they can't cast more spells. I think you have seen one before, mrs. Julia wears one."
Mrs. Julia?
"Ah yes, the one you call... Mother-sama, I think?"
Her name is Julia? I didn't know that... That, is a little bit embarrasing...
BUT WAIT A MINUTE!
"Huh? What is it?" Ansgar asks, tilting his head in confusionconfusion.
How do you know her name!?
"Ahaha you didn't know? Julia was an adventurer before!"
Mothe- I mean Julia used to be an adventurer!?
"Yes and not just anyone. She was called the Dancing Death because of the way she moved when she fought! I saw her only once but I would recognize her anywhere. I was really surprised when I understod that it was her child I was gonna teach magic."
Wow, she must have been really amazing.
"Indeed she was" Ansgar said. "According to rumors she once defeted an entire platoon of elite soldiers all by herself!"
Awesome!
"Ahaha, yes you can say that. But I was even more surprised when I learned that her son already had a familiar."
Familiar?
"Yes, a familiar is a creature that has entered a contract with a mage and that can me summoned at any time. That man out there and his bear, Spada, is a prime example"
Oh, but Taro and I have not entered a contract with each other. I am just his pe-companion. Yep, companion.
Ansgar suddenly looks shocked.
"I'm sorry Ruth but I simply cannot belive that."
Why?
"You are too intelligent and have too much mana to not be a familiar. Normaly, non-familiar monsters have atleast half the amount of mana you have, unless they are really strong or old."
But I promise! We have not made a contract!
"There is a way to find out,"
Huh? How?
"Just sit still and trust me."
Ok...
Ansgar takes a deep breath and closes his eyes. When he opens them again I notice that they have changed color. From violet to a deep shade of red. He stares right at me and suddenly a window pops up.
\\You are currently being Appraised. Do you want to cancel this? Y\N?
Yes yes yes yes YES! I don't want him to see my true identity! The moment I cancel Ansgars Appraisal he looks stunned.
Something wrong, I ask.
Ansgar looks at me in suspision.
"Well, you were telling the truth but..." he stops midsentence. "Let me ask you one thing."
*gulp* O-ok.
"Back outside, how did you know my name before I told you?" Ansgar looks me in the eyes.
Ehhhh, uhmm, you talk in your sleep?
\\Title Bad Liar gained!\\
...
Crap.
