After I had recovered from my... Dramatic experience Julia-sama prepared some leftovers from dinner on the stove and gave them to me. Even if they were just leftovers they were really tasty and made me feel much better. Ahhh, Julia-samas cooking always makes me happy. But sadly I discovered I am still sensitive towards hot foods.

Julia-sama herself made some tea. She took a sip and we started talking. We had been talking for hours about everything possible when suddenly Julia-sama realized something.

"I need to prepare some clothes for you! Your old ones were destroyed beyond repair so I guess I should make you some new ones?"

I faint when she says that. Maybe I should have stayed in bed a little longer? I don't know if I can take that in my current state.

"No wait, if I remember correctly Taro left some clothes that were to small. Maybe some of them will fit you until we can find something else".

Julia-sama walks out of the kitchen and into Taros room. I can hear her pulling out drawers and muttering stuff like "damn, I thought it would be here" or "Oh! I remember when he wore this! He was so cute!". It sounds like she won't be back for a while. I decide to check my new skills meanwhile

Shadow Cloak Lv. 1

Allows you to merge with the shadows and go around unnoticed. Higher level enemies or enemies with Sensor can still detect you. The higher the skill level the stealthier it becomes.

Sealing Rune Lv. 1

By infusing your mana into the ground you create a rune, temporary sealing of your opponents movements. The higher the skill level the longer the sealing.

Mana Lance Lv.1

Creates a lance made out of pure mana. The higher the spell level the more lances you can summon at once. Current amount of spears; 3. Mana cost; 5.

Mana Dome Lv. 1

Creates a dome made out of mana to deflect against attacks. The higher the spell lever the more durable the dome becomes.

Death Scream Lv. 1

All those who hear this scream shall be filled with terror. The scream contains voice amplifying magic, making it automatically louder. This scream, if used on low level enemies, have a high chance of instantly killing them by shattering their skulls. If used on higher level enemies it can cause temporary confusion and stunning. This who hear this scream will also see an illusion about their own death.

Fire Immunity Lv. 1

This makes you partially immune against fire attacks. The higher the skill level the higher the immunity.

Pain Immunity Lv.1

This makes you partially immune against pain. The higher the skill level the higher the immunity.

Fireball Lv. 1

A basic fire spell. Gathers fire in the users hand that they can then throw at their opponents.

Transformation

This allows you to transform into a bird-like form, this being your second form. No mana cost, no cooldown time, no level ups. You can also partially transform.

Oh I like it! Hehehe, and more minions to boot. I mean, I see Rowan as more than a brainless minion, he is my friend! But that Death Scream is freaking terrifying! Insta-kill? That is just rude. Julia-sama walks into the kitchen, carrying a MOUNTAIN of clothes.

"Hehe, I finally found some clothe- What is the matter Ruth?"

Crap, I must be looking kinda depressing. I turn my frown upside down and give her a gentle smile.

"Ah, nothing, I was just thinking a little. Now show me those clothes!"

Julia-sama started putting on clothes on me, trying to see which ones were good and which ones were no good. We spent an entire hour trying out clothes, laughing.

Three days have passed since I regained my consciousness. Julia-sama is taking good care of me. Even if she don't know what species I belong to she doesn't care. But I think she feels a little guilty because of my injuries. Maybe she blames herself for not being able to help me more? She shouldn't, it wasn't her fault.

From what Julia-sama told me, the day after Taro took off to the academy Ansgar also left, saying he had something to take care of in the Wast Lands. I didn't even get to say goodbye... Ansgar, you jerk.

Speaking of Taro, Julia-sama have already sent a letter to the school that he will get when he arrived. In the letter it says, even if with vague words, that I am awake and Ok. Hopefully this will make him feel better. Julia-sama doesn't tell me much about how he felt, probably not to make me sad.

These past days I have been training moving around. I noticed that even if I can walk around like normal running is harder. My left leg hurts every time I do, making it extremely painful for me to run. But I still do. I need to get my body working again. After laying down for three weeks the muscles in my body are very weak. I need to train!

Because I can now talk it is much easier to communicate with Julia-sama, so I quickly voiced my desire to train my body. She agreed, saying that she will train me herself. I happily agreed, thinking it was a great idea!

It was hell. While she never did anything that would re-open my wounds she never let me go easy. Together we would take runs through the forest for hours, only stopping when my legs could no longer keep me standing. Julia-sama is surprisingly fast!

Because I evolved arms she had me try weightlifting, but after discovering my extremely low strength she dropped the idea.

Instead she had me keep focusing on my legs. While my strength was small I had good reflexes and even if my leg hurt I could still run pretty fast (not to brag or anything). But while the training was intense I had fun. I will miss it....

On the fourth day, before Julia-sama woke up, I packed a tiny bag and left the house, forever. Of course I left a note on the kitchen table, telling her I had to leave but that I was thankful for everything they had done for me and that I will never forget them.

Before I left I picked up the amulet Ansgar had given me what felt like ages ago when I first exhausted my mana. As I stood at the beginning of the forest I looked back. The sun, slowly rising above the tree line, the cold air whispering in the leaves.

I started to sing while I walked into the forest, letting the wind carry it in all directions.

"You are doing the right thing mistress".
