《They said I could become anything so I became a _____!!!》Chapter 60: The Plan...

It's been three days since it was decided to put Ozlem under lockdown. The residents of the city have been unusually calm about it all. They are all sure that this will be solved soon and that everything will go back to normal in no time.
During this time all the adventurers have been working non-stop. First they had to fix that Philomena destroyed. Philomena had to pay for the reparations and when she did she simply pulled out a large sack of gold coins! Being an A-class adventurer truly pays off.
The word of a possible lich king being in the area have been spread to the farms surrounding Ozlem and a lot of farmers have come to search for shelter in the city. Because of that the city is really cramped right now but people seem to manage somehow.
I also wanted to help but Gret said that there was no need for that. According to him I deserved to rest. He also said that I am not allowed to participate in the battle, partially because of my adventurer rank but also because of the transformation accident in the dungeon. He's probably worried that I will panic and transform. Other adventurers might not react the same way they did then they see me transform.
No one else knows about it and I would prefer to keep it that way. But I'm afraid. Why? Because of the church! They sent their request for support the first day and it seems that they are on their way! If there's someone that can see through my facade it's a paladin as he drives his sword through my heart.
I was thinking of leaving Ozlem before they arrive but with a possible lich king out there... I don't wanna die yet thanks. I have yet to meet Mr Puffing!

"Hey look! It's the Dungeon Princess!!"
"Who?"
"You don't know? She was one of the adventurers that ventured into the dungeon and found the wraith dames!"
"No way! A little girl like that survived the wraith dames!?"
"Yeah! And there's a rumor you know..."
"What kind of rumor?"
"Well, according to it she defeated the Crimson Inferno, Philomena!"
"You'r kidding me!? You gotta be kidding me!"
"That's just what I heard man, but we better be careful not to piss her off".
"Yeah! Better safe than dead!"
......... You know I can hear you guys, right? You're not whispering or anything. Sigh, whatever, nothing I can do about it. I'm currently at an inn eating lunch but it seems that my reputation have betrayed me. And what's with that nickname? So cliche...
((Mama, you're famous!)) Zar exclaims with excitement.
((Being famous isn't always a good thing Zar)). Especially when you're a bird-monster and the church is on it's way. I need to lie low for a while and attention is the last thing I need right now. These past days I've been practicing Stealth and Shadow Cloak in order to stay hidden when the church arrives.
It really surprised me at first that there were no church in Ozlem, but according to Gret this city is neutral ground. Ones religion, species, where they come from or gender does not matter in this town, everyone is equal. That surprised me even more. So in other cities everyone did not treat everyone as equals?
When I asked Gret about it he shook his head. According to him, Ozlem is one of the few cities that allows beast men to set up their own stores and hold political positions. In other cities they are treated as animals and have no rights whatsoever. Because of that many seek refugee in Ozlem. When I heard this I got disturbed. As a person originally from another world where this is no longer accepted this made me feel sick.

Great also explained that if I ever entered another city I would not be met with the same kindness as here. This shocked me. When asked why Gret told me that based on my looks one could one believe that I either had beast man or demon blood in me, and because of that others would treat me with hostility and disgust.
This brought me another problem. I will have to leave this city sometime but if it is as Gret says then that would be a problem. I will have to disguise myself. Luckily, I knew a hardcore cosplayer in my past life and know a couple of things.
First things first; a mask! Ah yes, the mask. The very essence of a disguise. No disguise is complete without one. The simpler the design, the better.
Number 2! A cloak... with a hoodie! In order to cover my hair and skin. My feather hair would without a doubt give me away as a non-human. And the cloak needs to be black so that I get that mysterious vibe.
Numero tres; A code name! "But wait!" you say, a code name is not part of a disguise! Put aha my dear friend, it is! Wearing a disguise is becoming another person and to complete the new persona demands a new name!
And finally, maybe the most crucial part... STILTS! So that no will know how tall I really am. Then no one will know I'm a kid... And then I can ride all the attractions at the park!
Ok, maybe no stilts, but otherwise I meant everything else I said! But I need to make it all from scratch. No one has to know it's me under that disguise! Sure, I can purchase some cloth and wood but I need to make the finishing touches myself.
The first thing I will do when everything is solved and it's safe to go out is head for the next town. Yep, that's the plan. Great plan. I just hope nothing bad happens.

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14
