《The Beginning, The End, And Everything In Between》Chapter 12 [The Rising]

I know it's a short chapter but it's got a lot of words so enjoy! Also my cat did something adorable today, she is 14 this year so she's pretty old and I dangled this string in front of her and she pounced after it and she almost fell off my bed but don't worry I caught her! surprisingly...
Jonathan had been stuck in the West Forest for almost 4 days now, and every waking second he spent fighting for survival, while Farren had gone to the Greensen Forest in the South and burnt it down being in the West Forest was still more dangerous. It's known to have strong monsters and every tree, plant or bush is trying to kill you.
Jonathan was a mere villager, he had a face like a teddy bear and was never very strong. He just did accounting and held a high position in the village, he never cut wood or built a house like others. He was always better with number, until he met Rena. She was always talking to him, telling him he should get outside more and eat better, she even brought food with her sometimes. She was the prettiest girl in the village and Jon always wondered why she ever bothered with him as he always shooed her away so he could just be at peace with his numbers.
He slowly fell in love with her smile, and her joy in life, he started to talk to her more and more until one day he just kissed her. He did it out of the blue, they were only talking about the seasons and the crop deaths that were happening frequently until he just stopped and looked at Rena, he looked straight into her azure eyes and just kissed her.
After that they got married after 3 months due to the customs of time, then about 2 months into the marriage Rena went to visit the doctor, every doctor has to have a light affinity to check someones inner body works, while she was doing a check up he announced she was pregnant, we were so excited and started to set up an extra room for the child when it got old enough to stop sleeping in our bed, Jon's brother helped build it as he was always the strong one out of all Jon's siblings, Jon always liked to plan ahead.

When they finally had her and got over the child speaking as soon as she came out, they loved her, after one week we still hadn't decided on her name until both Jon and Rena got the idea of 'Farren' almost at the same time. Even though it's meaning meant 'slaughterer' in most languages they were set on it.
They always loved that girl, even though there always seemed to be something off about her. One day Jon finished work early to celebrate Rena's birthday and as he was walking in the square he heard a commotion near his house, Jon ran and saw Farren covered in blood on that white dress we bought yesterday. She was smiling, all the villagers were keeping their distance from her, he ran up thinking she must be hurt but as he got closer he could see no injuries on her.
"Sweetie are you okay?" he asked in a concerned voice yet it wavered. Farren only turned to him while still smiling, her blood covered face adding to the seed of doubt in the back of Jon's mind that his daughter was normal. Suddenly her arm raced out so fast almost no one could see it, it grabbed Jon by the throat. He looked around while choking by Farren's surprisingly strong grip and wondering why no one was rushing to help or stop her, but he could see now that everyone was frozen, no one was even blinking but their eyeballs moved, they were darting everywhere wondering what was going on.
Somehow Farren smiled wider and muttered to Jon in his ear "I'm going to take my time with you" and Jon swallowed somehow as Farren's almost death grip was preventing him from breathing just enough to keep him on the verge of life or death. At that moment Faren changed before his eyes, he could always accept the fact she had grown horns but now he saw her skin become paler and her blue eye's morph into a monstrosity that was a toxic colour green on one side and a purple in another, her pupils morphed into an eight point star with the four main points elongated, her pale blond hair became white at the roots and faded to black, the greys in between looked like they had trapped souls inside. She had golden tattoos that swirled around her like vines, they lower they went the darker they got, at exactly her ankle level they were a black colour. Her facial structure changed too, she looked more beautiful. The only thing Jon could think was...'demon'.

Faren dragged him around by his long black hair, he regretted not cutting it that day. As he struggled he saw his friends and family have their eyes filled with false hope and slaughtered, he saw it all so when he ran, he left his sanity behind.
As he was in the West Forest for the fourth night he saw a bright flash of red and orange in the direction he had seen that thing run to when it left him, he decided he was going to find that thing that possessed his daughter and kill it, as Jon disillusioned himself thinking of how he would save his daughter he came to realise he was barely living in this forest, and that's because he ran from everything that looked even slightly deadly, he had earned the title 'Hero', earning a title was something rare and anyone would gain riches as soon as they revealed themselves to be a title holder, the most titles in one person was 5 and the person was King Elro of Seleria, the Human country. It had never been specified what the titles were.
As Jon ran from yet another beat hunting him, he saw a dark figure standing in the clearing he used as a safe space, it turned around but the hood covering it's face didn't reveal any information on who or what it was.
"Who are you?" [Jon]
"I do not remember the true name for me but call me Rase" [Rase]
It's voice sounded ancient but androgynous and Jon could still not tell the gender
"A- are you here to save me?" [Jon]
"Depends what you mean by 'save' Jon" [Rase]
"How do you know my name? Please just tell me how to get out of here" [Jon]
"I know your name because I know everything that is in my forest, I will help you Jon but first you have to help me" [Rase]
"I don't even know you, you come here and say all these weird things and you want me to help you? No way just get me out of here, just get me out of this damn forest" [Jon]
"Ah Jon, there is something you don't realise yet" [Rase]
"What is that?" [Jon]
The figure suddenly appeared in front of him
"You have no choice" [Rase]

Dauntless: Origins
Snow white hair, blue eyes, pale. Devil, monster, mutt, failure. This story follows one Tyr Faeron, crown prince, heir primus and mass murderer. A wrathful, angry, and lost young man that has made it his goal to hunt down the men that killed his mother - and he is on the cusp of finishing the promise he'd made before her cairn stones so many years ago. On the surface he is duplicitous, whimsical, and base of cunning - but within the depths beyond the many masks he wears, something is waiting. Waiting for an end, the end he'd come to long for, whether it be to himself or any possible threats in his vicinity. After that long labor of vengeance is completed... Nobody knows, not even him - an arrogant and otherwise solitary individual with nothing in the way of friends - only the brothers of the blackguard who follow him through life as he pursues this mission. He was born a prince, but he'd be called a disappointment - failing to manifest the great power that he was born to before being summarily discarded by his father, a 250 year old 'primus'. That word again... Men who can shatter mountains and level cities, that's what he was supposed to be. Some call them demi-gods, all Tyr sees is a poor excuse for a parent. Time had made him bitter, cruel, and arguably psychotic - seeing only enemies wherever he looks. They'd come for him, too, one day - to wipe the slate clean and make room for another - and it's his conviction to ensure that he dies while taking as many of those rats with him. This is a story about finding acceptance, growth, and understanding - from the point of view of a cold and brutal individual who wears many masks. Of someone who was born to be the greatest emperor the eastern continent has ever seen - but he failed in that. Strong, yes, but only in the context of a man - Tyr's magic is weak. His convictions are weak. He has been made a beast of instinct by loss and a constant confronting of his own impotency in the face of his father. A mythos that stretches across planes, of magic, a pantheon of cruel gods. Of someone who's dedicated his entire mind to the art of killing a man, and none to living a normal childhood or coming to understand friendship, empathy, or compassion. The first five years of his life a mystery, a hole none have ever been willing to fill, leaving him warped and twisted. His formative years gone and what must've been most of his humanity along with it. Now 17, he is on the cusp of leaving the city he'd never been permitted to leave for what might be the first time in his life. Always searching, though he won't know what for, for some time. An episodic that follows experience and symbolism rather than a never ending series of battles - where the conflict lay in constantly searching for wholeness in lieu of great villains or heroes. This is where it all started, the origin, the tale told a million times - and yet it hadn't been, 'reality' is tricky like that. The greatest lie ever told by the tongue that speaks is that any of this was real at all.
