《The Beginning, The End, And Everything In Between》Chapter 15 [The Disappearance of an Unusual Elf]

Hi guys just here to say that my cat is the cutest thing in the world, today I woke up and she was sleeping right next to my face on my pillow! SHE IS SO DAMN CUTE! and also my dogs (they are both golden labradors, don't mistake them for those tiny yappy dogs that I want to strangle because they bark until 3 IN THE MORNING) were sleeping right next to each other and they normally hate each other so it was a very rare sight, this is why I love sleep, it brings people together and gives you a better chance to slit their throats while they sleep and offer their blood to the almighty lord Cthulhu.
Anyway new chapter YAY! also when Farren or anyone is talking in their head I'm going to do the font in italics.
Farren approached Xavier while his back was turned, he was using the water crystal to fill up his wooden cup, it was a pathetic attempt to get rid of his hangover but he hadn't passed any healing stalls or shops on the way to the inn room and Farren was his only hope.
"Hey Xavier... " Farren said as she crept up behind him
"Yup?" [Xavier]
"We need to talk~" [Farren]
Farren said this in an cute manner, but Xavier couldn't help but feel uneasy, he looked behind him to see Farren's hand glowing a black colour. Multiple thoughts raced through his head, one was that it was a new kind of healing spell but that thought was quickly dismissed, the only way to heal someone is through light magic which is always a pale yellow colour.
"Maybe it was another one of Farren's pranks" he thought but as he saw the look in her eye he realised she was serious. Xavier stumbled back, he hit the wall behind, he was now unable to escape any further. Farren followed him as he had backed away and her smile grew impossibly wider, it was another feature she had added onto her race, elasticity, Farren had only added it on a whim but she could see some serious advantages in it now.

"Farren, what are you doing?" [Xavier]
Xavier was really panicking now, Farren was only a couple of steps in front of him now, her hand still glowing the menacing black
"You know Xavier, it was fun while it lasted, you were funny to tease and you helped me with my experiments, I appreciate that, I do, but I need to do the rest on my own you know? I never did like working with others, they always got the credit or the joy in things and that took away my joy and I can't guarantee that you won't betray me" [Farren]
"I promise I won't I swear on my soul and my life" [Xavier]
"Aw Xavier you should have figured this out by now" [Farren]
Farren's hand was only a millimetre away from him now
"Life means nothing to me, and your soul?... well I assure you that it'll be put to good use" [Farren]
Farren put her hand on Xavier's chest, her dark magic a high level Dark Magic spell. was put into effect, his skin turned grey and looked old, his eyes sunk in and shriveled up and his lips cracked from the lack of any sustenance that had been drained from his body. In mere seconds Xavier was now just a shriveled up, soulless corpse.
"He really should be thanking me, I gave him a pretty face to die with then again..." Farren looked down at the corpse "It really doesn't show" Farren murmured under her breath
Farren stood next to the corpse with Xavier's glowing soul in hand, she opened her mouth and swallowed it whole, in the entire world's history this had never happened except 300 years ago where a crazed Soul Mage ate one of his colleagues, soul and all and turned into a Revhin, a soul eating beast that looked like a human but with green skin and pure white eyes, these beast have a high intelligence and an intense need to devour anything that has a soul, the only good thing that happened if you turned into one was you became immortal, the rumour is that the mage controlled his needs to eat and is still alive to this day, Farren had read about him in the books in her Father's study and was curious to see if she could eat souls too, it did sound fun and she made her race have immunities to basically every poison.

If anyone was around at the time and saw poor Xavier sliding down Farren's throat, they would see the soul's glow show through her skin as it passed down her throat, her veins being highlighted and making her skin seemingly see through. As it rested in her stomach a pulse came from it, the pulses became more rapid until the soul suddenly integrated into Farren's skin, a mark appeared outside her stomach on her skin, it looked like layers of spikes in a circles, every minute the spikes rotated a small amount just like a clock.
"Interesting... I'll find out your uses later" [Farren]
Farren burned Xavier's corpse with until it was just ashes, she cleaned them up and moved out, she was going to enroll in Creon Academy.
As she walked out of the inn she noticed the beefy guy before sitting in the corner, Farren overheard Xavier call him Red Fist or something. She quickly walked past when he looked up from his seat and beamed, he rushed over and stumbled a few times, he was also pretty hungover.
"Little girl! Hey little girl!" the beefy guy called over to get her attention, Farren's eye twitched every time he said little girl, eventually after the 27 time she finally replied.
"What?!" Farren snapped
"You were with Xavier at the counter yesterday weren't you?" [Red Fist]
Farren was cautious now, dealing with people who knew the people she murdered was never fun "Yes..."
"Have you seen him lately, we had a crazy night and I'm worried where the little guy ended up"
"Ah I see... well he never came back to his room sorry" [Farren]
"Are you sure? Well then... say, aren't you a bit too small to be on your own?" [Red Fist]
"I'm perfectly independant, don't let appearance fool you" Farren flashed him her sweetest smile and rushed out of the inn.
She headed down the streets to the massive building that overshadowed the rest of the city, Creon Academy, it had towering spires and a white marble build, the roofs were a deep red that contrasted the white marble and for anyone powerful enough they would see the glowing wards that surrounded the building, Creon Academy constantly boasted about getting an SS rank mage to make them.
In between the marble spires were grey building, they were massive and seemed big enough to fit almost 30 lecture halls from Earth, and there were almost 20 of those buildings, to match the spires they also had red roofs, it was an odd building and massive, it's shadow at sunset almost covered the entire city.
Today was the last day for registration and Farren saw other kids her age heading towards it, they slowly formed into one line as they got through the towering silver gate to the Academy, as Farren entered after an hour she saw the fields at the front of the school with all the kids being tested by what seemed to be the teachers and seniors of the school. The thing about it was they were being tested by crystals that checked their status.
"Shit..." [Farren]

This story is being rewritten! The new version, A Price in Memory, can be found here. I highly suggest you read the new version as this one won't be completed. He died for the only thing he truly cared about, his family. In a different world a talented mage completes his life’s work, an entire rebuilding of one of the greatest ancient spells, resurrection. Bypassing the stringent requirements, he attempts to make this great magic accessible to the masses, and by doing so earn his place in history. But lost to the passage of time is the reason for these requirements. Not to unnecessarily complicate this great magic, but to ensure the transfer of only mortal souls. For there are things that dwell in the realm of the dead that should never be allowed to cross over.
