《The Immortal Mutant Teen》Chapter 11- Shallow

Acheron climbed up the stage and headed towards the guitar by the piano.
Hoshiko Kotone had noticed a student walk up the stage. She sighed inwardly thinking it was another student trying to confess his feeling for her, she was tired of these events.
As she was about to open her mouth and tell him to leave her alone and leave, her words were caught in her throat as she noticed that he had reached for the guitar. Before she could ask him what he was doing, he sat down on the stool and began to play the guitar.
She recognized this melody, it was from 'Shallow' by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, she couldn't help but be surprised and puzzled. No one could tell but she was panicking on the inside,
'Could he want to play this song with me, a duet?' 'How does he know of the tradition?' 'if he doesn't know, then why would he want to play with me?' 'What is going on?!' 'Who is he?' These kinds of questions filled her mind, she could do nothing but freeze.
She then looked at him and noticed he was kindly smiling towards her and for some reason, she started to calm down. Her fingers started to fly through piano keys, following the score she had in her mind. The boy had started to sing,
"Tell me something, girl, are you happy in this modern world? Or do you need more? is there something else your searching for?"
Kotone couldn't help but feel like the lyrics were speaking towards her, her music also started to change as she played, 'What is this feeling? I've never had my music sound like this before, could he be what I have been missing this whole time?'

Kotone started to form misunderstandings in her mind and the way she started to look at Acheron had started to change. Acheron continued to sing not knowing the misunderstandings he was creating for himself.
"I'm falling, in all these good times I find myself longing, for change, and in the bad times I fear myself"
Slowly a smile had crept up on her face, for the first time in years she had smiled. All those in the audience couldn't help but look at them with their minds agape, and when they saw her smile their minds short-circuited.
It was a beautiful smile, an ethereal smile, they couldn't help but thank the gods for letting them see this smile on this day. They continued to listen as Kotone began to sing. To them it was different this time, the audience felt that her singing was 10 times better than before.
"Tell me something, boy, aren't you tired trying to fill that void? Or so you need more? Ain't it hard keeping it so hardcore?"
To those male fans down below, they didn't know how to feel, shouldn't this guy had made a fool of himself going up there? How come their goddesses looked so happy to be singing with him? To think this new guy made their goddess smile, while no one has been able to do that all these years.
They were grateful but at the same time they were jealous, why was it him? Why couldn't it be them? Up above on the stage, the song was coming to an end and many had started to snap out of their absentmindedness.
Those quick on their feet, started to share this event with the rest of the school, texting their friends, forwarding it to the school forums, taking pictures and downloading them on social media.

Acheron gave her a smile before getting up, putting the guitar away, and started walking off the stage. As he was reaching the steps, Kotone shook herself out of her stupor and shouted.
"WAIT!! Don't leave yet!" she said.
Acheron stopped and turned around "Yes? Is there something I can help you with?"
Kotone's expression was back to her usual cold look but her heart was beating wildly in her chest. She couldn't help but think back on how she felt during their duet, she wanted more of that feeling from him.
"What is your name?" she asked.
Acheron with a smile on his face said, "My name is Acheron Belau, what is yours?"
Surprised at his words, she asked "You don't know who I am?"
"I do know," he says, "But is better to hear it from you"
Nodding her head, she introduced herself to him "My name is Hoshiko Kotone, I am a third-year, since I have never seen you before you must be a kouhai, you can call me senpai"
Acheron laughed at her words,
"I will not, no one is above me in any way"
The crowd gasped at his words. How can he be so arrogant in front of their goddess? They couldn't help but grit their teeth in anger because of how rude he was being to her. Though the Japanese student seemed to be more offended at his words, the rest were mad because of his attitude towards her.
Kotone couldn't help but be shocked by his words. Though she doesn't care for the school rankings, she knows she ranks 1st out of everyone, no one had ever treated her this way.
"Well if there is nothing else, I will be leaving now" Acheron started to walk away dismissively waving his hand. Those looking at this scene started to truly hate this guy's guts.
"Wait!" Kotone exclaimed.
"Yes? Is there something else you need?" Acheron asked. "If there isn't, I need to be going, I have the rest of the campus to tour, today is my first day"
"You can call me Kotone then since you won't call me senpai," she said
"Nice to meet you Kotone, you can call me Acheron" he turned around and extended his hand.
Kotone grabbed his hand and shook it. What she said next, will soon cause the whole campus to fall in chaos, and right in the middle will be Acheron.
"You will be my husband" she meant to whisper that to him, but I came out a little loud and everyone heard her. Though she had that same cold look as always, these words caused her to have a small blush on her face, which added fuel to the fire.
"Ehhhhhhhhh?!?!?" Acheron, along with the rest of the concert hall, exclaimed.
