In the core.
Lucifer was battling the invading consciousness, but he was losing badly. This type of combat was entirely new to him and obviously not to the other party.
Lucifer suffered several heavy energy attacks before he could figure out how to manipulate his own. Whenever he fumbled a defensive barrier up the opponent's energy would turn to spikes and ram through the weakest part of the sphere. When he attacks the prime dungeon only has to make a single fortified shield to block.
The prime dungeons attacks slowed down and his defenses became fancier. His shields were thin with structural support which seemed to sap Lucifer's hammer like blows through momentum rather than power, leaving balls of Lucifer’s energy floating uselessly in the void.
Other times he would create angled barriers that would alter Lucifer's projectiles just enough to miss him. Lucifer increased his output twofold and cursed his enemy with such fury it surprised himself. The prime dungeon responded with a smirk and even more flamboyant maneuvers.
Lucifer roared, “we are being attacked, if you don’t stop we will lose and be captured”, oblivious to the changes to his psyche this battle was having.
The prime dungeon lamely replied, “that's the plan”
“what,” Lucifer asked with a particularly powerful attack that was quite draining.
“I was forced into the center of the world by such greedy people, its only fitting that I let them have me. Once they “have” me I will slowly tear their minds bodies and souls apart. It will also leave me in a nice ruling position in the dominant power”
Lucifer sneered, “we’re quite arrogant to think that you will be able to do whatever we want once we’re captured”
The prime dungeon laughed, “I have been watching you for quite some time, so I know that the standard of magic has dropped to disgusting levels. I am certain that their childish magic will be of no consequence to me”

Right now the battle had all but halted, Lucifer occasionally sent an energy blast, he even managed a spike attack, but he was quite drained and he thought it had been long enough.
In the core room.
Selenia walked past the skeletons while sending quick glances at them, they still made her nervous. She reached the core and saw the mechanism above. There was some type of rockfall trap above the connection between the core and the mana gem, except the rock was a large guillotine blade. Selenia didn’t know how to activate it.
Instead, she drew her sword and almost flinched when the click of claws extending onto the stone floor sounded. ‘nature help anyone who gets near Kuro’s future babies’, thought Selenia as she brought down her sword.
The connection broke easily, severing most of the black threads attached to the core. A moment passed and she had not been torn in two or left to die in some shadow realm, Selenia sighed in relief and looked behind.
Kuro was hunched in a pouncing position with claws extended and shadows leaking from her body, Selenia said, “see I just wanted to break the dangerous thing, Lucifer should be fine now”, although she was not sure and Lucifer hadn’t said anything yet, so she was starting to become nervous again.
