《Re:Direction The Peak (Cultivation Tale)》CH. 97

She was ready to harshly rebuke them and detail why this was an evil practice. But she never had the chance because Jin spoke first: "So, what's your plan?"
She put aside teaching those two about morality and instead decided to tell them what they would do: "We go in, we take care of them and then we go home having done something good"
It was absolutely not worth considering a plan but the girl seemed to think it was. Even Min-Su was a little disappointed and reluctant after hearing her. Attacking a shop in broad daylight was insane. Attacking it when they were still weak new cultivators like that? Madness. Pure madness.
Jin coughed a few times, attracting the girl's attention and told her: "That's...uh...a very good plan. However, I fear that we might be recognized later on...How about we find some disguise first and prepare our equipment? Should we meet up tomorrow to start with this operation?"
The girl seemed to think for a moment before she nodded. It made sense. She wondered why she hadn't thought of this before... Well, she probably would be recognized even if she disguised herself since her techniques were very distinctive. But it was better than nothing. Who knows? Maybe she wouldn't be recognized and get away with it. She agreed to the suggestion.
And Jin informed her: "Ok, so we'll be staying at that inn over there. Come get us there tomorrow, ok?"
"Alright! See you tomorrow guys!"
The girl went her own way and the two guys went in another. After crossing half of the city, they arrived at a different in and went in. Min-Su was surprised to be led here by Jin. Even more so when Jin checked in and bought two rooms for a few days. He asked his fellow disciple: "Jin, why are you checking in? Didn't we agree to meet up at the other inn tomorrow?"

"Uh? Did you really think so? It was just to ditch her"
There was a pause as both young men looked at each other. Then Min-Su spoke: "Are you serious?" and was answered: "Of course, I am. Didn't you realize she was a psycho? And stronger than us at that. Just stay in for a few days and she'll have forgotten about us"
Min-Su looked at Jin. He glared at him for a second before he sighed and whispered: "I really wish I learnt that technique though..." and then, they went into their new rooms.
They might have found her beautiful and they might consider the business of that shop to be evil however it did not matter. They weren't dumb enough not to understand what really happened there. That girl was stronger than they were, strong enough that she could probably get things done herself. However, she asked for them. Who were weaker than her. Why? Because of their background.
And that meant that she was aware of Hae-Hyuk's presence here and wanted to use it. So that her justice became associated with Hae-Hyuk, all through his disciples. Jin and Min-Su were used to people trying to use them, especially Jin, so it was easy to see through it.
Min-Su wouldn't have minded it much as long as he could get the technique but he knew that if Jin didn't join in, he was fucked. Hae-Hyuk would likely not approve of his deeds and he would be screwed. It was better not to act. As to why his previous didn't work, wasn't it obvious? Hae-Hyuk knew who would be messing around between him and Jin.
If he tried to mess around the place using Jin's name, it would be equivalent to muddy both Jin and Hae-Hyuk's images. Even his own, slightly. How would Hae-Hyuk react? Definitely in a bad way. Bad for him. And Jin knew that since he did too. Basically, it had been an empty threat and Jin probably went with it solely to help him ditch her later on. Since he wouldn't have done it himself.

As for Jin, he was laying on his bed and training his new technique. By activating and deactivating constantly. Just like blinking lights, his eyes were one moment filled with energy and the other were deprived of it. It was a way to get used to it as well as become faster in executing the technique.
Sure, he didn't know any spiritual techniques, but did he need to? He could apply the four principles to his own martial arts. Combined with this new visual ability, he would remain a threat to anyone at his realm. Now that he managed to ditch the psycho, he could focus on becoming stronger.
As for her and her plan...One, he didn't care. Two, he had no reasons to join in. And three, it was obviously a bad idea.
He didn't care because whatever happened to strangers wasn't his business. It might seem cold but he was a realist. He had seen enough of both worlds to understand one thing: As long as there are sentient beings, there will be cruelty and oppression. It didn't matter if an evil organization went down. A new one would take its place. So, as long as it isn't related to him or someone close to him, he wouldn't give a fuck. Like most humans.
He had no reasons to join in very much in the same way. After all, he wouldn't earn anything from this. Heck, he might even lose some. His teacher's image for one thing but most importantly, himself. He wasn't stupid enough to go raid some unknown place with unknown forces defending it with his level of strength.
And that summed up most of why it was a bad idea.
Needless to say, the young woman, Sofia Crowe, was humming on her way back to the twin towers. As she entered, a handsome man asked her why she was so happy and she answered that she made some comrades-in-arms... And she asked the man to help her pick a good disguise for tomorrow's secret operation...
Of course, she wouldn't tell him what the operation was about! It was a secret mission!

New Game (Reborn as a Reluctant Demon Lord, Book 1)
Portal Fantasy. Isekai. A daydream of nerds everywhere, leaving behind their boring world and living in a fantasy one that is full of adventure. A daydream that became a reality for me and 1000 other Comic-Con attendees. Except for me, it was more of a nightmare. Wanting nothing more than to find a way home, and also saddled with being the world's new [Demon Lord], I found myself trapped in a gamelike world and also somehow a part of the [Hero's] party. So join me as I tell the tale of my struggles. A tale of levels and skills. A tale of cagey game admins and bugs. And a tale of our party's grand quest to defeat... Well... Me. ---- What to expect from this book? 1. A main character who is not overpowered (and instead has to go from near-useless to strong. Not just weak to strong). If you are looking for an OP [Demon Lord] who laughs at his weakling enemies... This isn't for you. 2. A meandering pace as the characters aren't told how a lot of the world works and have to figure it out themselves. (And because there are a lot of characters. Whose idea was it to have a party of 9? I blame Jake) 3. A tragedy. A lot of things are not going to go well for the protagonist. (Not that everything is tragedy all the time. There is humor, laughter, friendship, and even a mascot monster character who got way more popular than I expected. But this is not a story that will leave you uplifted and inspired after every time you read it). ---- Release Schedule and publishing information: Book 1 is complete! I will include a link to book 2 once it has been started. Feel free to give feedback, positive or negative. ---- Other notes Book 1? Yes, this says Book 1. There are probably going to be 3 books. No, the plot as you can guess is not going to be tortured to drag out all the way to book 3. That would be ridiculous. If you can guess the plot of books 2 or 3 at any point before the last chapter of book 1, please use your clairvoyant powers for something more productive. TitusGM? This story is intentionally told under the username TitusGM because the idea is that he was the one actually writing everything down what happened after it all is over. I initially planned to answer everything in character on this site, but that just really didn't work out. If you want an in character response to a comment, simply prefix it with IC: (I also try to leave that as a reminder in the author's note after each new chapter) Cover art? The Puppy Project
"Give me my puppy!" I demanded, my eyes ablazed with fiery anger."Correction, it's not your puppy. It's our puppy," He smiled, but it was anything but sweet nor happy."You know what? Damn you! You're nothing but a cold, emotionless, and heartless bad boy!" I sneered, glaring at him fiercely. He chuckled at my words, taking a step closer to me. He slammed his hand unto the wall, trapping me, before leaning in close. "You got that right sweetheart but I think you got one thing wrong." He said, his eyes piercing straight into mine."And what is that?" I managed to asked, my throat seeming to get drier the more he looked at me."I'm neither one of those when I'm with you," and with those words, slammed his lips into mine.#1 in Strong-Female Character - 1/29/21#1 in Sarcasm - 2/4/21#2 in BadBoy - 2/13/21#3 in Teen Fiction - 2/13/21#1 in Mysterious - 3/4/21Copyrighted 2017.
