《Re:Direction The Peak (Cultivation Tale)》CH. 114

In the end, after receiving a lesson on morals that went in a very unexpected way, Min-Su and Jin began to show off their loot. There were quite a few pills and herbs related to high-level/top level cultivation (50-59 stages). They were worth quite a sum and useless to both youths at the moment. Hae-Hyuk pondered for a moment before telling them to hold onto those pills and keep them hidden.
This was a world in which you could be killed for owning a treasure. There weren't any laws banning people from killing one another and even if there were in some places, no one respected them. Unless they feared whoever was behind them or they were unsure they could keep it covered. Basically, you couldn't consider anywhere to be perfectly safe. With Hae-Hyuk around though, there wasn't any reasons to be scared. But he wouldn't be babysitting them for eons.
As such, those medicines were to be kept and hidden until it was time to use them. They weren't rare to that point but rather, it was unlikely that they could sell them at a great price. This kind of medicine was mostly sold between friends or during auctions. Either you had contacts or you paid heavily for those. It was better to hold onto them if you could. Of course, if they really needed money, they could sell them. It would be a shame though. That's what Hae-Hyuk tried to explain to them.
They understood his point and after dividing equally between themselves, they each had a dozen pills and herbs. It was impossible for it to be equal but it shouldn't be that far. At least, they each had the same number of them. As for who got which, they did it in accordance with Hae-Hyuk's advices.
In any case, the pills weren't the greatest treasure they got. For Min-Su, it was the Newborn Carnassid he had in his arms. This little beast was a treasure beyond treasure. To a beast master, it could be the equivalent of becoming half a god. This kind of little thing could reach the 60th stage after all. Even if you were unable to cross over the tenth stage, if you had a beast of the 60th level that obeyed you, who would dare attack you?

This kind of beast was so valuable that Hae-Hyuk was at quite the loss. To be honest, it was too much for someone of Min-Su's level to hold onto. Hae-Hyuk knew exactly when they would each go their own ways and, as such, it was clear to him that this thing could bring the death of Min-Su. What's more, this was a being alive. It couldn't be hidden in a spatial storage.
If people learnt that Min-Su had it...He would be hunted by beast masters of extremely high level around the entire world. This was the worth of this beast. Of course, if he had been a high-level cultivator, it would have been fine. But being a low-level one... Hae-Hyuk sighed. In the end, opportunities belonged solely to those who could hold onto them. He looked at Min-Su and told him: "You might not be able to hold onto this"
Min-Su acted stupid most of the time but he wasn't dumb. He knew himself and his limits. And he was aware that Hae-Hyuk would leave him someday. The fame, protection and status he had right now...It was temporary. And once he lost it... He would be killed for his possessions. He could hide a few pills but Carni? He couldn't hide Carni. Still, he didn't want to lose him. He got attached to the little furry and, more than anything, he knew its worth. It wasn't something he could give up on even if there were extreme risks that went along with it.
He looked at his master filled with seriousness: "I want to keep it"
Hae-Hyuk sighed. He knew it would have happened. If it had been him, he wouldn't have agreed to give it up either. The future potential of the beast was tremendous. Enough that the risks were worth taking. If he managed to keep it, his future was set. He would be a force to be remembered. A world-level individual.

Hae-Hyuk pondered for a moment. As long as Min-Su was with him, everything would be fine. But after that... There was only one way to make sure his disciple's future would remain bright even with this beast in his possession. It was a fortune that couldn't be given up. And Hae-Hyuk made up his mind at that moment.
As long as they won him that thing, and survived, he would help Min-Su get a safe environment. There was a way to do it after all. It was bothersome but it wasn't too difficult for someone like him. He just didn't want to bother at first. But now, he got curious. With this beast, it was certain that Min-Su's name would ring accross the entire world if he grew along with it. Since it wouldn't cost him that much... It was fine to spoil this youth a bit more.
He told Min-Su: "Alright. Here, take this technique. It is a beast master's technique. Learn it and use it on the Carnassid, bind it to yourself"
Min-Su smiled brightly and bowed to his Master, thanking him profusely. Hae-Hyuk waved it away with a smile and asked him if he had found anything else. Then, Min-Su took out the two eggs he got. They were as big as his torso. As he saw the eggs, Hae-Hyuk's face cracked.
If the Carnassid was a treasure that could bring misfortune, a single of these eggs could bring devastation. Those were Armada Wurm eggs. They were creatures beyond the imagination of most people, cultivators included. To think the Abundance managed to even get eggs of such creatures... Hae-Hyuk had a hard time believing his own eyes. And yet his eyes were the most trustworthy thing of them all.
He looked straight at Min-Su, wondering if the kid was lucky or unlucky. He couldn't find the answer.
