《Re:Direction The Peak (Cultivation Tale)》CH. 125

As the light faded, Jin found himself on a familiar podium. It was the usual teleportation array after all. He had used one before and it was nothing new. The sights were new however. This was clearly a place they hadn't gone to before. He could see many buildings made of white marbles all around. It was incredibly clean. He followed as Hae-Hyuk came down and asked his master: "Where are we?"
Hae-Hyuk turned around, still with Min-Su under his arm: "The city of Seven Waterfalls, we are going to stay here for a few years"
This was unexpected. Jin had gotten used to the nomad life after travelling with Hae-Hyuk for so long. Not that he wasn't against settling somewhere but it felt like it had some deeper meaning to it. Hae-Hyuk began to lead the two through the winding paths of the city. He was so familiar with the city that it felt like he was a citizen. He wasn't however. But he had been here many times. This was a famous city and very good for business.
As they moved, Jin observed his surroundings. As he looked up, he couldn't see a single cloud. All he could see was the blue of the sky. Outside of that, the buildings were hindering him. It was only after some time and having walked quite a bit that the group had a view of the entire city.
It was built on a mountain so, going upwards and that mountain seemed to be higher than the clouds since they could see some under them. Far under them. It was the first time Sophia went outside her city and the sight left her speechless.
Hae-Hyuk informed them: "This city is suspended in the air naturally. The entire mountain range around this place is composed of floating mountains. It is due to the heavy presence of the gravity and distortion elements around, making this entire area quite a wonder. This place is stabilized due to seven metal ropes tying this giant rock to the ground. Those chains are blue in color and due to their appearances, they were named the seven waterfalls. From there, this city got its name"

There weren't any real waterfalls but symbolic ones. It was quite the impressive place. Jin had may questions about it but refrained from asking them. He would find out soon enough if they were to stay here for a time. Sophia was different with her curiosity shooting through the roof. She asked: "This is a floating mountain?! How can it float?!"
Hae-Hyuk answered her: "Gravity, distortion...Many space-related elements destroyed the balance and brought this situation. Cultivators only made the most of it"
"But why pick such a dangerous place?"
"Due to the chaotic elements, a lot of related treasures appear naturally. What's more, it is a very good place to train oneself. That's why the pioneers picked this place. As for this particular mountain, it was due to its size. Imposing yet small enough that they could forcefully tie it to the ground, maintaining its position even in this chaotic place"
It was at those words that Jin entered the discussion by asking whether they came here due to the training worth of the place. Hae-Hyuk admitted that it was a reason but only a part of it. He refrained from saying any more though. Sophia kept asking whatever questions came to mind as they walked and Hae-Hyuk took the time to answer every inquiry. Since he had taken her as his legacy disciple, he would do his part.
The group stopped in front of a giant door. It seemed like there were a few mansions behind it. They couldn't see due to the height of the wall surrounding the estate. It seemed to be their destination though as Hae-Hyuk went to the door and greeted the guards there. He told them to bring news of his arrival to the clan leader.
The guards smirked first, belittling him. Who was this random bumpkin asking for their patriarch? As if just anyone could meet the patriarch! They snickered amongst themselves, completely ignoring Hae-Hyuk. That is, until he began to pressure them with his vast spiritual energy. As they felt it, the poor guards regretted their actions. They were low-level cultivators, how could they resist the might of a peak cultivator like Hae-Hyuk? As soon as the energy was released, all guards fell face first on the ground and remained there, unable to move.

The doors opened a few moments later as four men in purple robes exited. They all had reached the top stage of spiritual cultivation. As they saw Hae-Hyuk and the guards on the floor, they began to sweat. This was an expert, beyond them. If they had angered him, it might become the downfall of their entire clan.
Even if their clan had an history of tens of thousands of years, so what? In front of true might, it could go extinct in moments. This was the world they lived in. They quickly moved in front of Hae-Hyuk and bowed, asking for his forgiveness for any disrespect.
Hae-Hyuk wasn't one to hold grudges for something so little. He retracted his energy and the guards could finally breath. Relief appeared in the hearts of the four top cultivators. They hurried to welcome Hae-Hyuk and the three others in. Soon, they sat in the grand hall along with twenty-two men and women who were in the top stages of cultivation.
In front of Hae-Hyuk was the patriarch of the clan, Ryu Kwang-Seok. He was at the peak of the 59th stage. And he was afraid of the man in front of him. He warily asked: "What brought you to our humble clan, senior?"
Hae-Hyuk pointed a finger to the still-in-meditation Min-Su and said: "I wanted to visit the family of my disciple"
Everyone got the surprise. Not only those of the Ryu clan but Sophia and Jin too. Jin was aware that Min-Su had been 'abandoned' so, he certainly didn't expect that they would one day meet his family... If Min-Su was awake, he would probably be freaking out as well.
