《Re:Direction The Peak (Cultivation Tale)》CH. 263

In the twin dragon towers, everyone was considered as part of one big family. That's why, of course, the twins agreed with that part of Sophia's speech. People here were living to put their lives on the lines for the sect. That was solely because they enjoyed the lives they had here. They could cultivate in safe place, free of worries and where they could have fun all year round. To protect that base, to protect their comrades... They were willing to undergo many tribulations.
But this Jin? Who was he to deserve such a treatment?
Hae-Hyuk was not part of the twin towers but he was close enough to Isla to be considered as her lover. Many rumors came and went about it and even some of the top elders supposedly confirmed it. What's more, Isla wasn't hiding herself... But Jin was only the disciple of that man. And that man did not seem to care much about it. After all, the twin towers had not taken any official stance on the matter.
At that time, one of the sisters chuckled and teasingly asked Sophia: "Could it be that the mother fell for the Master and the daughter for the disciple?"
Sophia looked at her with a tired poker face and simply answered: "No. I don't even like him that much"
The two sisters looked at each other. Isla did not teach Sophia much but she did teach her to be honest. Whether it was a good thing was debatable but regardless, they trusted her words. If she said it was not, then it was not. Of course, they were quite curious of the reason behind her orders though. The same sister asked back: "Then, why? Forgive me but he is no family"
Sophia sighed and stated: "He fought alongside your father and uncle in the trial. Aside from that, he's a fellow disciple of mine. I consider him my family"

The twins nodded. This was enough. If the heir to the sect considered him family, then he was. There were no reasons to ask anything else. Obviously, they should have departed right away and obey the heir's orders without questioning them but they were just that curious. And they knew Sophia could sometimes do...peculiar things...
Since this time, it was truly related to the sect though in an indirect way, they did not mind following her orders. However, there was a problem. No one knew where that guy was.
Even Sophia could not help them with this. She shrugged it off and simply said: "He will appear someday. Just be there at that time"
The twins were taken aback. They expected Sophia to at the very least give them a destination or some lead... But no. She simply told them to search the entire world for this man. One of the twins wanted to rebuke Sophia and tell her some of her own thoughts but was stopped by the other.
The second twin nodded at Sophia stating that they would depart right away and keep her updated if they found any traces.
They bowed and left the room.
Sophia went back to cultivation. Now that this matter was in good hands, she could rest in peace and focus on her other task. She already received many feedbacks from many experts of her generation. More than two dozen already stated that they agreed and supported her. But this was only a beginning and she was not foolish enough to believe them solely through a few words written on paper. There was a lot more work to do but it was still a positive thing that they at least took the time to answer her.
As she began to think of those things, the doors opened. She expected the twins to have come back but it was her mother and her master...and they were rather close to each other. She was unable to get used to this at the moment...

...
Meanwhile, the twins packed up their stuff and got ready to leave.
The first asked: "Why did you agree? This is stupid and pointless"
The second acknowledged her sister's words: "It is"
The first paused and asked once more: "Why?"
The second stated: "Unlimited holidays paid by the sect, why should we refuse?"
The first's mouth opened in surprise. She had not thought of it this way. It was true that it was a good deal for them... Still, in the end, they would have to answer to the heiress's expectations. She questioned her sister about it: "What about finding that guy?"
The first shrugged and stated: "She was right when she said that would come out someday. Let's just wait for it and, if fate has it, we'll meet. That aside, what do you think of Paloma Beachside first?"
The second nodded happily. That place was always sunny even in winter and the water was supposed to be visually heavenly. It was a neutral area protected by a strong clan so it was perfect for an extended holiday like theirs.
They hummed as they left the twin towers without much of a care. And so started the sister's holidays...
...
Going back in time to the moment when the first wanted posters began to circulate, in a grand hall within the Twenty-Two Suns Sect, all the experts of the sect sat and debated.
Jin was an ex-disciple of theirs that they had deemed 'dead' yet he now reappeared as the most wanted man. All the people here were at least at the 50th stage and bickering like hags in a market. They were unable to come to a consensus even though they needed to quickly take an official stance on the matter.
They had many options to pick from and that made it even harder for them.
Should they hunt and apprehend him?
Should they try to welcome him back within the sect?
Should they kill him and steal his stuff?
Should they...
Many experts and just as many points of views. Since they were all of the same strength on average, it was even harder for a final decision to be taken.
