Prelude 2: A True God’s Power
I stood patiently waiting for the others' transformation to divinity to be completed. I had to admit, the sight of watching the changes in them knowing exactly what was going on was both exciting and terrifying. When the transformation was finally complete, I could feel the entire atmosphere change as if the entire world was moving under our will.
“How does everyone feel?” I asked, looking over them.
“This is intense to say the least.” Heaven said with a smile as the others nodded in agreement, obviously being amazed by the power running through them.
“Good, I'm glad you’re enjoying this” I said with a smirk.
“Wait, I meant to ask earlier before we got caught up, but what’s with the massive crater behind you?” Hikarus said, while pointing behind me.
“Oh yeah, about that, it seems our punches carry a little bit more power now” I said with a massive smile. “In fact, I think it’s time we do a little bit of experimenting. What do you say?” Before they could even answer, I turned around and walked over to a massive boulder that probably weighed a few tons and picked it up with one hand. Holding it over my head, I turned around to the faces of my friends as their expressions began to fill with pure bewilderment and disbelief.
“Hey, just what do you plan to do with that?!” Reiji asked, standing up instantly.
“I was thinking we start off with a little game of catch!” I smirked and threw the boulder before they could even respond. I was amazed to see just how fast the boulder was traveling with how little power I put behind the throw.
“Are you insane?!” Reiji screamed just before punching the boulder causing it to shatter into a million pieces. His eyes flew open in utter shock at just how easily he managed to destroy it.
“Well I guess that confirms super strength” I said with the biggest smile I could pull off.
“We just got all the knowledge of the entire world put into our minds and somehow you’re still an idiot” Reiji snapped at me with an annoyed expression.
“Oh don’t be so mad, Rej, I barely threw It. In any case, your symbol means life, right?” I said with an annoying grin.
“...yes, my sign Is life, why?” Reiji answers with a sigh.
“If that’s the case, then you should be able to create, correct?” I asked.
“Yes, it seems I’m able to create whatever basically...” Reiji stated slightly confused.
“Then, let’s have you start creating things, how about we start by trying to recreate the forest I destroyed?” I said, turning around to where the forest had stood.
“Fine, no harm in trying, I guess.” Reiji said as he walked up to stand beside me and held out his hand. His body became enveloped in a white aura as the ground started to shake and the forest started to come back to life. However, I soon noticed a problem as the trees began to grow rapidly, almost reaching the upper atmosphere in seconds.
“Hey, I told you to remake the forest, not go for some kind of world record on tree size” I said staring up into the sky.
“Shut up, Miklaus, creating life for the first time isn’t exactly easy” Reiji snapped back as he stopped what he was doing.
“Well, Sir Life, what do we do about these trees now?” I said, still looking up into the sky at the absolutely massive trees that had been created.

“I guess I’ll make an axe so you can fix what you started. A perfect way for you to blow off that steam coming out of your ears.” Reiji retorted as he formed a pristine axe.
“Yeah I guess I started this after all. Well, here goes nothing.” I said, but as soon as I took the axe in my hands, the entire weapon shattered and dissolved.
“Yeah I figured that’d happen; we’re too strong to wield things made with regular metals” Reiji said matter of factly.
“I think I have an idea for how to fix that.” I said, deep in thought. “We could go to space and make a weapon out of a supernova.” I said as if it was commonplace.
“Can we even survive in space?” Reiji asked.
“Well, the way I see it, there’s only one way to find out.” I said, holding out my hand towards Reiji with a smirk.
“You’re going to be the death of me” Reiji said as he took my hand.
“Oh right, I almost forgot to ask, what weapons would you two like?” I asked, looking at Heaven and Hikarus.
“I’d like a Polearm” Hikarus answered after thinking for a bit.
“Well, I think I’d like something like scissors.” Heaven answered.
“Is that a joke?” I asked dumbfounded.
“Oh oh, but instead of just scissors, make it so one handle can pull out to become a sword,” Heaven said, continuing her idea for an ideal weapon.
“Wait… what kind of weapon is this?” I asked still trying to figure just what she was asking for.
“Oh, and not just that but also with the sword you can pull out the handle and turn it into a bladed whip!” She said with excitement gleaming in her eyes as she continued to think of more things to add.
“Nope, stop thinking right now, you’re done. Anymore and I’ll lose my mind just picturing this let alone making it.” Reiji finally cut in.
“Well, I guess that settles that for those two, then, but what about you, Reiji?” I asked, turning my attention to him.
“Well, I was never really fond of weapons or anything, but I was always good at martial arts. Now that I have an enhanced body in every sense of the word combined with the knowledge of all martial arts, I think I’ll stick with my hands.” Reiji said back to me.
“I understand you were always the best out of all of us in terms of hand to hand combat, so I think I’ll do a katana, and with that we’ve all decided on our weapons.” I said, turning back to the other two quickly. “We‘ll be back soon with your polearm and… whatever mutation you’ve managed to think up, Heaven.” I finished, turning back around as I opened my hand and summoned a portal to space.
“After you, Miklaus, this was your idea after all.” Reiji said, waiting for me to go through the portal.
“Right, let's get this started then.” I said as I walked through the portal into the vacuum of space with Reiji following close behind.
“Seems I was right! Not even the vacuum of space has an effect on us” I said as I looked down at the planet below us.
“It really does look almost identical to earth from up here” Reiji said with wide eyes taking in our surroundings. “So, you’ve dragged us out here, but how exactly do you plan to create a supernova, exactly?” Reiji asked, raising an eyebrow at me.

“Stand back and watch, this won’t take long” I said with a smirk growing on my face, as I held out my hand, and pushed my power out through my body as a black hole started to form in the distance.
“I..is that a black hole?! You can create those at will?! What kind of power is that?!” Reiji yelled out in astonishment.
“It would seem to be that way; are you ready to create the weapons?” I asked, making sure Reiji was still ready for this.
“Well, we’re already in space and you’ve created a black hole, I’d say I don’t have much of a choice now, do I?. Do it, Miklaus, I’m ready.” Reiji answered with absolute determination.
“As you wish, Reiji” And with that, I released the black hole into a massive star near us. Almost immediately the star collapsed into a supernova. As soon as It started, I held out my other hand and controlled the energy of the supernova to keep it from exploding onto us. “You’re good to start, Reiji. Use the core leftover from the star to create the weapons.” I said after dispelling the black hole.
“Right, I’ll get started, then, and please don’t blow it up in front of my face.” Reiji said as he held out his hand getting to work on creating the weapons from the core of the supernova.
The first weapon to be made was a beautiful katana with Japanese letters that glowed violet on a black handle, with a dragon for the hand guard that led down to a beautiful glowing violet blade with black lightning that ran up and down the blade. I couldn’t suppress my smile seeing the amazing weapon my friend had created for me.
Next was a Polearm that didn’t lack any of the elegance of my katana as it shone a bright gold with the light coming from it only being rivaled by the sun itself, coupled with a solid, Marble handle. The last to be made was.. well how do I even explain that mutation of a weapon. I swear that Heaven, where does she even come up with these ideas?!? As soon as Reiji had finished the weapons, I flew over to pick them up.
“I must say, Reiji, you truly are magnificent. Lets just hope these weapons don’t shatter like the axe did.” I said as I reached out to take the katana in my hands for the first time. As soon as I grabbed it and lifted it up, I could feel the difference immediately from the tungsten to this new weapon. It felt like my powers and the energy from the supernova were mixing together, becoming one. I looked down at the katana in my hands as it started glowing even brighter than it previously had.
“I think it’s safe to say these will work.” Reiji said, looking at my katana with scrutinizing eyes.
“I think that’s a safe assessment. Let's gather the other two weapons and return to the others.” I said, taking the other two weapons in my hand as I reopened the portal to return. As we walked through the portal, the other two were waiting in anticipation for the results of our experiment. I smirked as I tossed them their weapons. “It worked.” I said with a slight grin on my face.
“This is even better than I imagined in my mind…! You’re amazing, Reiji!” Heaven said, looking over the ludicrous concept she had imagined brought to life.
“The power and energy coming from this is insane. This is the power of a supernova huh?" "It's called starcore" Reiji cut in. "It’s even more amazing than I could have imagined!” Hikarus yelled as he examined his new weapon.
“Well, we know these supernova weapons won’t shatter from us holding them, but we still need to use them to make sure this is the real deal. Would anyone like to volunteer?” I asked. "It's called.. forget it," Reiji sighed beside me.
“I think it’s finally time I get a chance to show off.” Hikarus replied walking over to me.
“Well let's start with those trees, do you think you can handle that Hik?” I asked, still looking at the trees.
“Shouldn’t be a problem at all. Watch this, I'm sure this should be a good show.” Hikarus said, stepping forward as he took a stance to do a wide swing with his new Polearm. Upon getting ready to swing, the blade started to glow brighter and brighter until it seemed Hikarus was satisfied with the amount of power in it. As soon as he started to swing the blade, the entire world and atmosphere started to shake as a massive slash of light went forward towards the trees. As soon as the light made contact with the trees, they disintegrated immediately. At a speed that would normally be incomprehensible, all the trees disappeared just like that, and the weapon remained in perfect condition.
“Amazing! The power of this is insane!” Hikarus yelled out, grinning like a madman, smirking wildly as he looked down at his weapon.
“That was indeed amazing, Hik. I see you’re growing used to your powers quickly, but I guess we have full knowledge of how they work thanks to these runes on our arms. Shouldn’t be a surprise, but I think it’s time we take it up to the next level.” I said with a smirk turning towards Heaven “what do you say we have a duel to fully test these powers and weapons?” I asked, unable to hide the excitement on my face.
“Finally, I thought I’d never get the chance to test some things out!” Heaven said with excitement in her voice mirroring my own.
“Hikarus and Reiji, I’m going to create a separate dimension for Heaven and I to test in, so we don’t destroy everything before we get a chance to get started on creating this world. You two stay here and keep trying to perfect your creation of nature, Reiji.” I said as I started to open the portal to a separate dimension. “Let's go, Heaven. I don't want to wait any longer than we have to.” I said already stepping through the portal without waiting for a reply. Upon entering, all that could be seen was a vast void of space with no other signs of life or anything. A perfect place to test our powers and weapons to the fullest. As soon as I turned around, Heaven entered through the portal, and I closed it after her.
“Now then, let's put that creation to the test.” I said, bringing my katana in front of me.
“I thought you’d never ask.” Heaven answered with fire in her eyes, looking at me with a smirk. And with that, the first battle between true gods was about to begin.

Artifice: Iysinfyr
Nalulthyn is the young daughter of a duke that is one day asked for a favor. This favor involves the adopted daughter of the duke from a neighboring area. This girl has had a traumatic past and has closed herself off from the world completely and reacts violently when touched by anyone but her personal maid. The duke hopes that a girl close to the age of his adoptive daughter will be what she needs to recover, but things are never as easy as they seem. First is that this adopted daughter is a Terran, a rare being from a different world that has skin and hair as white as snow and an almost alien build. Second is that there is a power to this girl, one that makes her recovery all the more dangerous to Nalulthyn and perhaps beyond. Author's note: This is a soft reboot of Artifice: Tools of the Gods. As I wrote the other story years ago I felt it would be better to do this approach as my writing has changed and improved since then. For now only two characters will return though I might reintroduce others later in the story. Even though this has the gore tag, I don't plan on being excessive with it. Most chapters shouldn't have any. The only reason I have it is to be realistic with the descriptions.
