Third Person POV: Gon
“Maybe I should take something for Killua while I’m here.Hm…”
Gon, who had just arrived at Zaban City, thought out loud. He was unaffected by the noise and passerby in the market.
With his new levels of perception and wisdom, his focus had grown to unreasonable levels. The state he was currently in seemed close to an extreme Zetsu, but for some reason, his instincts and defensive powers remained unaltered. If someone were to sneak-attack him at this moment, he would be able to block it at full force or avoid it.
“I remember he has a sweet tooth.” Gon, who was putting all his concentration on the gift for his best friend, even failed to notice that a notification popped out.

New skill acquired:
Dark Priest: Level 5
Class Skill:
Cleft Mind: Level 5
A power obtained by the user after multitasking. It allows the user to divide his attention between several tasks, especially spiritual ones. Practiced to a high level, this ability grants unrivaled adaptability and potency to even the dullest of souls.
WIS+10/VERS+5/COMP+5
“Oh! Chocolates, that’s what I was trying to remember.” As Gon memorized how Killua spent millions on his favorite snacks, he was finally back to normal.
“Hm? Wow! Level 5 already? Haha. Class skills...they work the same way as my Hatsu skills.”
He looked at the pop-up in surprise, then recalled something that had been a bother for months. After he had experienced the usefulness of classes, the teen created a new skill called “Shadow Limbs”.
He had been discussing with Kite about optimal ways to maximize his battle potential. Manipulation was the way he needed to follow after enhancement. The reason was that he used knives in this new life.
His new “Shadow Limbs” skill allowed him to turn shadows into hands and feet. It could be used in diverse ways. Not just to control and get back his knives, but also to control people.

His new manipulation nen nature helped a lot in creating the skill, but he knew how valuable the Dark priest had been in its elaboration.
Not only would he lack the talent, but he also wouldn’t have the creativity to devise it. According to his estimations, with luck, he would need years to generate the ability. No need to talk about unfortunate situations…
This skill wasn’t perfect in the sense that it could be at a disadvantage in places without shadows such as the sky. However, when controlling the blades with basic nen manipulation concepts Gon understood that it was foreseeable sometimes.
Having lived two lives, his mind had become flexible, so he knew that unpredictability was a tremendous strength.
The boy didn’t minimize his newfound powers, but he had yet to face people like Hisoka or Illumi in life or death situations. He would only be able to judge after observing them in days to come.
A total of 498 battle potential was just numbers. Zepile and Saegusa were talented, but they weren’t even as strong as a Killua without nen.
He would naturally not be too confident concerning monsters with years of practice and fighting experience.
“I think my weapon control will become even more potent with this new skill. I’ll test it later after I buy Killua’s chocolates. This guy has expensive tastes...where can I find a good pastry here?”
Gon mused as he held his chin.
“There’s only three days until the 287th exam starts. I wonder if I should have gone straight to Dolle Harbor and meet with Kurapika and Leorio. But that weird restaurant and elevator are still here, so there’s no way the exam place has changed.”
“I’ll figure out ways to get close to everyone in the underground tunnel. We were friends before, so there’s no reason they wouldn’t accept me now.”

The boy nodded to himself and left the market with haste. As he did so, he stopped a few passersby and asked them where to shop the best pastries in town.
First Person POV: Milluki Zoldyck
A few days ago, the Republic of Padokea.
Kukuroo Mountain, Zoldyck Manor
The name is Milluki Zoldyck.
I come from a long line of professional assassins, and I’m also a killer myself.
Being an elite and all isn’t that easy. Aside from the crowd of peasants that bow down to me, I’ve got to take care of a few servants and needy siblings at home.
I know, you probably think that this job must be tiring. My back tends to hurt despite my youth due to all the carrying. I feel gratified that you peons can express such concern for prodigies like me. But since I’m a chosen one, it’s okay.
You see, I am not just versed in the arts of killing, but my overwhelming talents force me to delve into science and technology from time to time. I won’t go into too many details because you clods are probably not familiar with notions such as White hats or Black hats.
No, to remain brief and candid, our family is kind of a big deal. It is such a big deal that my parents tasked me with one particular job, which is to prevent people from hacking into our privacy. Everything going inside this manor and outside of it is my responsibility.
Detecting, crushing threats, and malware has become something of a habit for me since I was 6. When the virtual contenders are too slow, I also play a few video games or anime on the unused monitors to stay alert.
They can’t challenge my intellect, but they help a virtuoso like me to get rid of the boredom. I’ve chosen this noble path in order not to overshadow the rest of my siblings.
I think I’ve made the right decision, and the tacit silence of my parents and granddad is proof of that.
You would think that being so brilliant would make me the family’s favorite, right?
But it isn’t the case.
At least, not after that demonic child was born.
He cast a spell on my precious mama, and even my coldest big brother was bewitched.
At age 3, the kid was already more vigorous than most adults.
When he turned 5, he had already murdered more people than I did in the last ten years, so he naturally became the heir.
The problem is that the demon simply doesn’t have any regard for his elders. He even dared to break into my Holy sanctuary.
When I told Papa about this, he was so dismayed that he sent the kid to the Heaven’s Arena for a year and a half.
One would think that it would teach him the value of my work. But it tragically wasn't the case.
After the monster came home, what was supposed to be a learning experience for him, turned into the root of disaster for all of us.
If I had gotten any clue sooner, that hunter encyclopedia would have been burnt and cast aside.
"Milluki, Mama, why are you two on the floor like this?"
"Where's Killua?"
