《Celestial Magus》Chapter 15 : Yuuma's army

A group of hundred was traversing through the territory of Lorvale. If their movement was plotted on a map, it would leave a blood trail in it as they were not just traveling but slaughtering their way through the land. But they were not an army that was conquering the land, neither were they a group of bandits pillaging through villages.
They were a group of about hundred bald men, their bones were protruding from their skins as if they were skeletons covered with just a thin layer of skin. They left behind corpses that looked like they were pierced with a thousand needles. They were riding on black panthers, muscular in build and different ones had different colored stripes. Those were medium leveled spirit animals, Elemental panthers.
Elemental panthers were known for their speed as well as endurance and were one of the favorite animals of explorers in this continent. There were 5 subspecies of these panthers, each having an element as its base. Although their combat abilities were not as good as their speed and endurance, their power cannot be ignored.
A man who was riding in the front just behind the first row of men suddenly hurried his mount and reached the front row. He asked one of the men who was in the front row
“Sir, when will we reach our destination?”
“Soon. we are nearing our master”, the man in the front replied.
“Master’s teleportation scroll had taken him to a place thousand kilometers in front of us”, another man added.
The man who rode his panther to the front row nodded and returned to his original position.
They continued riding their elemental panthers through a meadow of emerald grass, towards Goldfair city.
Robert was watching Sophy perform magic from his room. It was a bright morning and she was in the middle of the garden, casting spells after spells of earth magic. She lifted earth, terraforming the garden, she levitated boulders so big that they were the size of her and moved them out of the way.

But what made Robert really curious was the little wand that she waved to summon a golem made of earth. It did many tricks as Sophy flicked and waved that little wand around like she was conducting a music orchestra. It slammed into boulders, smashing them, it lifted up boulders and threw them.
Robert really wanted to know what that wand really was, as it somehow allowed the magic that Sophy summoned to have a mind of its own and also she was able to do ranged magic. Robert had thought till now that ranged magic was not controllable, once they were cast, they were out of control. But seeing Sophy do this, he wanted to learn how to use a wand.
Although the library in this mansion was pretty good, they didn’t contain any high leveled books. And most books were of local authors and magicians.
“There is so many things in this world that you can’t simply understand by reading a bunch of books,” Robert muttered to himself, determined to pester Sophy when she got back in.
For now, he decided to experiment with his own cultivation. Meditating, he entered the trance state where he could control the mysticle and its energy. He wanted to emulate the particle accelerators and convert the energy into particles. He willed and rotated the energy inside his mysticle, but was soon met with a problem. If he wanted to use the energy inside his mysticle to generate particles, he will have to collide them together at near light speed. And he was sure that his current energy level was nowhere near reaching that amount.
He decided to do one thing make the top energy of mysticle rotate in one direction and the bottom portion in another. After achieving high enough angular velocity, he could collide them together to get double the velocity!

This looked easy on paper, but putting it into practice was another thing. Achieving two different spins for energy inside the mysticle was not a small feat. It can only be achieved by having total control over the energy.
He made a small tornado of spinning energy particles in his lower mysticle, then tried to do the opposite in the upper region, it spun the way he wanted to, but the problem was that after he achieved the spin, the first tornado he had created had already disappeared.
He tried to control the top and bottom portion alternatively and increase the spin, and after a lot of trying, he was able to achieve to opposite spinning slow tornados in his mysticle. He was so happy about it, and he decided to try and collide the energy. He willed and moved the two tornados into the center region and suddenly, it dissipated.
He let out a cold laugh. How can it be so simple, the energy he needed to pour into it was astronomical in order for it to work. He tried again, and again. Each time he spun the tornadoes little faster, but the results were the same as before.
After trying for so many times, he had exhausted all his energy that he fell asleep due to tiredness the moment he finished his last round of experiments.
Three horse-drawn carriages slowly entered the Cutthroat’s valley. They headed to the small castle that was the headquarters of Snake skull. After reaching the castle, A few men who were tied and mouth plastered was carried in through a secret passway into the chamber of the Snake skulls leader, Yugimi. The men who carried the captives were all dressed in black and had a mask covering their face. It was the face of a demon with its eyebrows replaced by snakes.
The masked men delivered the captives, 20 of them to Yugimi and disappeared after bowing to him.
Lord Yuuma appeared from the fireplace, he walked towards the captives and slowly caressed each of their heads, nodding slightly in satisfaction. The captives were then transferred to the secret room.
City guards received many complaints of men disappearing that night. The patrol in the city was increased as an effect. But there was no trace of these disappeared men. It was like they had just disappeared from the face of the planet.

America has sealed itself off from the outside world, and inside its borders, a revolution rages. All it took was one incredible little machine. That machine turned into two, then four, then eight... like a virus, the replicators spread. As a work of oral history, The Good Crash features over 50 interviews with key witnesses to the events of 2027. The text is rendered in the words used by the interviewees themselves, with light editing for clarity and concision. As such, the book contains language and themes that are not appropriate for children.By capturing the voices to the people at the very root of the revolution, journalist and historian R. Vondersnitch has traced the origins and aftermath of the replicators' rapid spread. Crucially, the book also includes perspectives and testimony from those who attempted to stop the spread of the reps. "Some of these are heroes, too, in their own ways," the author writes in the book's introductory note.
