《Young Master Has a Daughter》Chapter 169 - The Book of Fate

After the first lightning descended, another one followed right away. Then after that was another one.
In just a few seconds, dozen of lightning bolts descended upon Yun Ling’s body continuously, scaring the living daylights of everyone who was watching him especially the Sacred Kings who had once been in his position.
“That’s Papa?!” Yun Xia’s mouth was wide open as she watched her father being struck by dozens of bolts of lightning every second. Yun Ling’s figure couldn’t even be seen anymore with how dense the lightning bolts were which was covering his body.
Yun Xia wasn’t unfamiliar with that sight anymore. She saw her father continuously being struck by the crown prince’s lightning dragons in the Golden Dragon Election after all. However, this time was different. The bolts of lightning that were striking him weren’t made from supreme arts. It was tribulation from heaven!
Yun Xia heard from her mother how strong a lightning tribulation was. Each lightning strike from the lightning tribulation was more than ten times stronger than normal lightning. That was why she couldn’t help but be shocked at seeing her father being struck by dozens of tribulation lightning at the same time every second.
“Xia’er! What are you doing here?! Get inside! It’s dangerous here!” Yun Zhan strictly said upon seeing her granddaughter with them.
“Stay focus! Here comes a big one!” Yun Zhan roared out as he felt a build-up of spiritual energy in the sky.
All of them looked up and were terrified.
In the sky, there was a single lightning bolt forming that was about to descend on Yun Ling. However, unlike the bolts of lightning from before, this one was bigger by a hundred times!
They immediately tightened their formations.
A second later…
BOOOOOOOOM!
The formations that Yun Zhan and the other Sacred Kings made were destroyed! Their heart almost leaped out of their chest when they saw that. Now that their formations were destroyed, if that lightning hit Yun Ling, it would surely destroy the entire compound and kill all the weaker cultivators inside!

They immediately put up another defensive formation hoping to minimize the damage it was going to cause.
Thankfully, at that moment, the emperor arrived accompanied by Yu Yinyi. The two aided in the Yun Clan’s formation, making it much stronger than it was before.
Just like before, the entire compound was covered in the formation excluding the courtyard where Yun Ling was in.
When the lightning hit Yun Ling, he spat out a mouthful of blood as he hunched over. Blood flowed down from his nose, eyes, ears, and mouth after taking that incredibly large lightning tribulation directly with his body. He really had no choice but to take the lightning tribulation head-on because if he tried to defend himself, the tribulation would only get worse stronger as a result. The only way to minimize the damage was to absorb the tribulation to himself.
The lightning tribulation might be dangerous but it also comes with it a tremendous benefit for the cultivator. If they successfully managed to pass their tribulation, they would be as if they were reborn. Their body would become much sturdier and more fit for cultivation. The reason for that was the lightning carried some purifying properties that would remove all impurities in their body. It was because the lightning came from heaven, and heaven itself was pure.
“That damned tribulation…” one of the Sacred Kings said with a shaky breath.
The formation that Yun Zhan, Yu Yinyi, the emperor, and the other Sacred Kings had made had a large crack in it when the lightning bolt struck Yun Ling.
They all looked at Yun Ling and saw his burnt and bloodied body still sitting cross-legged on the ground, albeit a little bit hunched over.
It was crazy how Yun Ling was not yet dead from that tribulation lightning.

Perhaps, this was the most frightening tribulation they had ever encountered in their life.
And it was not over yet.
Dozens of lightning bolts still struck Yun Ling nonstop. Thankfully, the bolts of lightning were no longer as strong as the one before it. If it was, Yun Ling would surely die. There was no doubt of that.
While Yun Ling was being struck by lightning, his gaze suddenly blurred. Then finally…
He blacked out.
…
Yun Ling’s eyes widened.
He found himself in some dark place. The only source of light in that dark place was some kind of book that was emitting golden light.
Suddenly, his soul shook.
Never in his life had he seen a single book cause him such a feeling. He felt like he was an insignificant being in front of such a divine book. In fact, he thought that just laying his eyes on it was such blasphemy to its divine existence.
It was then that Yun Ling realized.
The Book of Fate!
That was none other than the book in front of him.
He looked around him once again, only to see total darkness.
While he was observing his surroundings, he heard the book starting to flip its page. After that, Yun Ling felt a mysterious force that was making his body come closer to the book.
Yun Ling tried to fight against it but found out that he couldn’t. Without any choice, he let the mysterious force did as it pleased.
When he finally got right in front of the book, the book stopped on a specific page.
Yun Ling saw what was inside that book’s page.
It was his name… his information… and everything that happened since he was a kid until that very moment itself. There was even something written about what was going to happen to him in the future but that part was strangely covered with a bright light.
The sclera in his eyes went black and his iris became golden. With that, Yun Ling could finally see what was behind that light.
Stabbed by Yun Yi at the chest—
His eyes widened at that.
Suddenly, the bright light covered the words again after he had only read a small part of it. Then, the light went even brighter, nearly blinding his eyes.
He closed his eyes and had it return to normal.
“So this is The Book of Fate responsible for the fate of everyone in the universe, huh?” Yun Ling muttered to himself. He heard that everyone who ascended into the Fate Dominion Realm would come in contact with the book. He also heard what to do after making contact with the book.
He reached out his hand towards The Book of Fate—
—and tore the specific page about him.
The darkness disappeared and so did the book in front of him.
A second later, Yun Ling found himself back in the courtyard again.
