Yun Ling's eyebrow twitched. Did his daughter somehow misunderstand what he said? He had to clarify it to her.

"No... like I said, Papa will only bring Mama back if he can. If he can't, then there's nothing Papa can do."

Tears started forming in the corner of the little girl's eyes.

A chuckle almost escaped from Yun Ling's mouth but he held himself back. His daughter was so adorable.

"I promise, Xiaxia. Papa will be careful."

"Pinky swear!" said Yun Xia seriously as she held her right hand with her little finger sticking out.

Yun Ling let out a small laugh, amused at her antics as he extended his hand towards his daughter and curled his little finger around hers.

Yun Xia then began chanting happily, "If you tell a lie, swallow a thousand needles and cut your finger..."

While his daughter was chanting, Yun Ling sweated.

He had heard of pinky swears but he didn't know that the chant was this dark. Do other children also chant like this? If they do, what the heck came into their mind to make a chant like this? He didn't know since he had never done anything like this before.

"... sealed with a kiss!" Yun Xia said as she pressed her thumb finger to her father's. "Now Papa can't lie or else Papa will eat one thousand needles and cut his finger."

Yun Ling just smiled at her as he played along.

"Papa's so scared. I guess Papa can't break his promise then?"

"Of course!"

Yun Ling let out a laugh as he ruffled Yun Xia's hair playfully. Then, he looked at Yue Dongmei one last time.

"I'm leaving."

Yue Dongmei nodded.

"Alright. Be careful."

Yun Ling kissed Yun Xia on the forehead before leaving the room.

After walking down to the foot of the mountain, Yun Ling noticed someone following him.

"Snow Fang... here to see me off?" Yun Ling turned back and asked.

He saw Snow Fang slowly walking down the stairs as he looked at him.

"I already told you that there's no need to see me off," Yun Ling said.

He went to talk with Yun Feng and Snow Fang after talking to Yue Dongmei and Yun Xia to instruct them what they should do and avoid while he wasn't there to look after their asses. Then, he gave Yun Feng a training schedule for him and for the children to follow while he was away.

Snow Fang looked at him and said telepathically, "Young Master, let me follow you to the Thousand Mountain Valley. I have some things to settle with the Immortal Willow Tree."

He knew he didn't stand a chance against the Immortal Willow Tree but he just couldn't let himself do nothing while others were fighting the immortal. He must pay him back at least, and the best way to do that was to join the other Sacred Kings in fighting the immortal.

Alone, none of them would stand a chance against it. But with all of them coming after the immortal... immortal it may be but it would still be hard-pressed fighting them all together.

"Your son?" Yun Ling asked about the Lion King Cub.

"He will be fine with the other children," Snow Fang said. "There's no need to worry, Young Master. Your little brother can take on most of the monks in the monastery on his own. There's also that woman. She hasn't fully recovered yet but after a few days, she will be back to normal. Not to mention, there's also the monk who cured her. You said that he agreed to look after the children while you're away. He's one of the humans I can trust. That's what I sense from him."

Yun Ling let out a sigh.

"What will you do if you sensed wrong?" he asked.

"If something happened to them because I made a wrong judgment, then I will take my own life."

He thought over bringing Snow Fang with him for a bit. Now that Yue Dongmei had woken up, he guessed it wouldn't be that bad to bring Snow Fang with him.

Yun Ling complied as he slowly walked to Snow Fang.

When Yun Ling sat on Snow Fang's back, Snow Fang took off with an incredible speed, running towards the direction of the Thousand Mountain Valley.
