She's under pressure to work with the region's dominant Steadfast Church to help with a looming political dispute.

The city-state of Averell trained her and got her to start granting basic magic to other people, potentially a major social change if it continues. Ruyo fought off gangsters and recruited a few as bodyguards. Her first priestess is trying to use Ruyo to end slavery in Averell, which Ruyo lacks the clout to demand.

The latest threat is the village of Brotherhood to the west, which just sent "Witch Hunters" to her door...
