《Young Adversary》80th Adversary: Tertitus World

It was now over a month since Miko had established his own country. The country which came out of nowhere was experiencing some surprising growth. Its size tripled only a week after it was founded, and its population was continuously on the rise. It went without saying that everyone was keeping their eyes on this newborn country.
“Boss, how’s everything going?”
Miko was currently inside his office. The one who he called Boss was the dwarf king, Sirdrek.
“Nami is around 80% complete.”
“Really? That’s why I call you boss. You and your people are anyone’s dream workers.”
“Of course. We’re blessed with overflowing talent.”
“I agree. You’re seriously children of God.”
Sirdrek laughed joyously. Miko realized that this little king works harder the more he’s praised, so he doesn’t hold back when it comes to praising them.
“The only reason why the town isn’t finished yet is because of those special features you wanted to add to the town.”
“What? You can’t do it?”
He purposely showed a disappointed expression.
“What do you take we for? Of course, we can do it. It just will take time.”
“I see. As long as the outer layer of the town is finished, you can take your time with what I requested.”
He took up a stock of blueprints and handed it over to Sirdrek.”
“I want you to look at these when you’re free and give me your feedback.”
“Are these the blueprints for the capital?”
“Yeah. I plan to make it as grand as possible.”
“Your Majesty, this will cost a lot of money.”
Miko nodded.
“I know. I’m working on acquiring the funds as we speak.”
“How?”
Miko put a finger on his lips and smiled.
“That’s a secret.”
There were countless countries on the Silver Continent, these countries were grouped together in four regions which followed the basic cardinal points. The Dragna empire took up most of the Northern Region and the other countries in the region did all they could to not anger this behemoth.
What about the other regions?
On the wall which was created by the Dryads of Jara Jungle to serve as the new border of the Northern and Western Regions. A group of people was people were staring into the Western Region. They were all dressed in dark clothing and had their identities hidden.
“The closest kingdom to the wall is the Aloe Kingdom right?”
One of them asked their comrades before removing their mask a little. It was Sora.
“Yes. As ordered by His Majesty, our comrades took over the bodies of the guards patrolling the area one at a time. Who we couldn’t devour immediately was killed and replaced by a double. It took nearly a month, but we’ve finally acquired the borders.”
The one who said that was a Parasite Demon who hid his Soul Eye under his hair.
“Alright. Now we can pass through the Aloe Kingdom and reach the country of Dale.”
Sora looked at everyone who was standing behind him. He especially looked at a person who was literally shrouded by darkness and nodded.
“It’s a new moon so we’ll use the darkness to our advantage. We’ll lead the way and warn you if we detect anyone nearby and make the appropriate changes to our route. Got it?”
Everyone nodded.
“Alright. Let’s go.”
He jumped off the wall and dozens of shadows which weren’t even on the wall quickly followed suit. They all landed on the other side of the wall and was immediately spotted by border patrol. However, these patrols only nodded at them and gave the go ahead.

Sora ran and the group followed behind him. The shadows which jumped down with them quickly spread out and went in multiple directions. The person shrouded by darkness quickly came up to Sora and ran right beside him.
“If you spot anyone let me know. If you’re discovered, incapacitate them and hide them somewhere. Don’t kill, that will only make the situation troublesome in the future.”
The shadowy figure nodded and kept following Sora.
Meanwhile back at Renacido.
“Sora and the others should be in the Aloe Kingdom by now.”
Miko was sitting on the roof of his headquarters. Beside him were Hina and Momo. Behind him, Tia was playing with Regis while occasionally insulting Ishma. Layla was watching them with an amused expression.
“If everything goes as planned they’ll move through the kingdom for the entire night and disguise themselves as citizens in the day. They’ll continue doing this until they can reach Dale. Once they reach Dale then their mission will begin.”
“Why not let them sneak into Dale directly?”
Hina asked.
“Because they must leave proof that they came from the Aloe Kingdom. That’s why the group consists of Parasite Demons. They’ll take the bodies of Aloe citizens and complete their mission in Aloe. That way all the blame will be on Aloe and not us.”
“So you’re going to turn two neighboring countries against each other? I’m sure there’s something in it for you if the two countries go at it.”
Miko only smiled and didn’t answer Momo’s question.
“I understand now why Sora kept saying that he was a singer, not a covert operative.”
Hina laughed.
“His powers are perfect for sneaking around. It would be stupid not to use them.”
Miko said with a shrug.
“Ace didn’t mind going. He even got excited to experience two new countries.”
“I think it’s because he gets to use a character he normal keeps locked away.”
Hina said.
“Anyway, you’re going to the capital tomorrow, right?”
Momo asked.
“Yeah. I’m going to the Tertitus Branch.”
“Tertitus? Oh, you’re planning on meeting with them?”
Miko nodded and showed a bright smile.
“There’s something I need the help of a mad scientist for.”
The following morning, Miko arrived at the Capital by himself. He didn’t bring anyone other than his swords with him despite those around him strongly objecting to it.
“My parents are supposed to be here, but I came here without them knowing….Ah, I forgot. Mother installed a tracking chip somewhere inside me.”
He shrugged.
“I still don’t want them to follow me to the Tertitus Branch.”
Miko placed his hand into the pocket of the jacket he was wearing.
“I have some better choices in mind.”
He took a picture of someone sleeping with a smile on her face. In less than a minute later, he set up a simple trap using a box, a stick, and a rope. He used the stick to hold up the box and tied the rope around the stick. He then placed the picture under the box and hid behind a trash can.
There were people watching him since he was in the middle of the street.
“Isn’t that Miko?”
“Yeah. What is he doing?”
“Probably something evil.”
“….With a trap like that?”
“…..Got a point.”
“Can that even be called a trap though?”
“Not even a rat would get caught in that.”
The people around him started whispering. Miko smiled and shouted at the top of his lungs.

“What’s this? Someone dropped their picture of someone sleeping. Wait, isn’t this Sasha Dragna? Wow! She looks so beautiful!”
“What is he doing?”
The people around him became even more confused.
“Hm? Did you hear something just now?”
“Yeah. It sounds like a something smashed into a wall or something.”
*Bam!*
Suddenly everyone heard a loud noise and looked towards the direction it came from. There they saw a huge dust cloud.
“What’s that?”
They began focusing their eyes.
“Wait….isn’t that Emperor Nero and Nova?!”
They could see Nero and Nova running while huffing and puffing.
“Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine!”
When they got closer everyone could see that the two were exchanging blows while running. It’s just that their attacks and defenses were so fast that it was hard to see at first.
“R-Run!”
Seeing the two who were like two crazed bulls charging towards them, the citizens quickly evacuated the area. Miko on the other was cheering since his preys took the bait.
“There it is!”
Nero and Nova spotted the photo at the same exact time. Their eyes became bloodshot and they simultaneously leaped and dove while stretching their hands out.
“Got it!”
They held the picture at the same time. At that moment, Miko pulled the rope and the box fell on the two’s head.
“I caught my guards.”
Miko walked up to the two while they were rolling on the ground fighting over the picture.
After the battle between father and son came to end, Miko headed to the palace with his grandfather and uncle. With them by his side, no one dared to even look in his direction.
“This sucks. My schedule for the day is messed up now.”
Nero complained and took out his schedule. On it wrote, “Do Nothing”.
“Mines too.”
Nova’s had one more thing than Nero’s.
Mess around and Survive mother.
“I hope I never reach the level of boredom that you two have.”
Miko said.
“Speaking of which, where’s Nana?”
“Over at the Secundus Branch. She’s visiting her sister Celina.”
Nero replied.
“I wanted to go and meet Alisa, but mother gets pretty angry whenever she remembers I have four wives so I’m not gonna chance it.”
Nova added.
“I’m surprised that you were able to have 5 additional wives after you married her, Gramps. Nana really hates the concept of harems. I remember when I said I wanted a harem as a child she looked at me with the coldest eyes I’ve ever seen.”
“Oh, the hard part wasn’t getting married. It was the sleepless nights on the run after she found out. Oh, and the occasionally neutering.”
“…..Neutering?”
Miko subconsciously found himself looking down.
“Don’t worry. It grew back after sometime. I discovered that the period for regrowth shortens every time.”
(Just how many times did you have your junk cut off for you to know that? And what do you mean it grew back? Are you a lizard?)
“Ah, he is a lizard technically.”
Miko mumbled.
“What about you Miko? Do you intend to build a harem?”
Nero asked.
“There several women I’m already in love with and I’m sure there will be more in the future. So a harem is the only way for me to truly be happy and have them by my side.”
Nero and Nova nodded in agreement.
“You get it, my boy. We’re Dragons. It’s in our nature to love beautiful women and treasures. Also, our sex drive is higher than most, so having one partner is strange unless that partner is another dragon or someone who has a sex drive that rivals ours.”
Nero said.
“Sounds like bullshit to me.”
Miko said.
“Although, that would explain why there are countless stories about dragons, treasures, and beautiful women….So maybe there’s some truth to it?”
They entered the royal yard and walked passed the palace and went to the fork road that leads to the five branches. They walked on the middle road since it led to the Tertitus Branch.
“Now that I think about it, it’s been ages since I’ve come here.”
Miko said.
“Me too, but that was because I was banned.”
Nero said with a laugh.
“We won’t get thrown out before I get to see who I came for will we?”
Miko asked. They walked for a bit and noticed that their surroundings began to change. The world before them was consisted of beautiful golden sand glistening under a captivating white sun in the sky.
It was a desert world.
Miko could see majestic monuments like pyramids and giant sculptures, in the distance. He could even see some oasis as well.
“This place is hot as hell. It’s like I’m in Kemet.”
Kemet is the ancient name for Egypt. The Tertitus dominion was based on this place which was located on the Day Continent. The Tertitus Branch ancestor Garcia Dragna, who was Augustus and Tia’s third child, created this dominion after visiting Kemet and falling in love with it.
“Aunty Garcia seriously have weird tastes. What’s beautiful in a place like this?”
“I appreciate it if you don’t insult my mother’s taste.”
Suddenly the Tertitus Branch leader Alexus Dragna landed in front of them.
“This place is beautiful. What I couldn’t understand is what your father Claudius saw in that over the top design that the Primus Dominion has.”
He said.
“Floating islands are way cooler than boring pyramids.”
Nero retorted.
“Hmph.”
Alexus looked at Miko, who was about to open his mouth to say something.
“Kirika wants to see you. She said she wants you to come to her oasis. After you see Alec, you should go to meet her. Alec is in his lab.”
Miko was a bit shocked at first because Alexus answered his questions before he even asked them. He nodded and then departed from the other three. He didn’t need to worry about assassins because his guards would be able to keep track of him even far away.
He walked and could hear Nero and Alexus arguing in the back.
“Look at this sand, fool. These are grains of gold. This is a golden desert. What beats that?”
“This gold is fake. You simply turned the sand into gold using alchemy. You can’t buy anything with it.”
“It’s still more beautiful than anything in your dominion.”
Miko shook his head and continued walking through the desert. After a while, he came across a city. This was the city of Arak, where the Tertitus main family resided. The city had a modern theme despite being located in the desert. After arriving at the city, he went straight for Alec’s residence which was located in the very center.
He found a large mansion that was the color of blood and had flame markings on the sides. Miko walked up to the door and knocked on it. The door immediately opened and there was a long line of sexy women wearing tight fitted suits while holding bottles of champagne.
“Welcome, Prince Miko.”
The women all greeted him at once. Miko smiled at them and entered the mansion.
“Would you like a drink?”
Miko took a glass of champagne from one of the women and walked deeper into the mansion and headed for the room furthermost to the back. When he entered he saw countless complicated-looking machines and equipment. He looked around and saw someone sitting on a chair typing on a computer.
This person was dressed in a dark colored vest with a red dress shirt underneath, he had dark colored jeans with a chain on the side, high boots with buckles on it, and a pair of stylish gloves. He was extremely handsome, had a perfect mix of purple and azure hair, and bloody red eyes.
“Yo, Alec.”
Alec looked up at Miko and smiled.
“Yo, Miko. It’s been a while.”

The Kodoku Game
In Japanese folklore, there once existed an ancient technique among alchemists for harvesting the strongest poison known to man. A poison so vicious, so horrendous, that a single drop could incapacitate an entire nation of humans, several times over. A poison so intense that a single drop could turn the tides of a war on its head. As potent as it appeared however, this poison could be harvested from the blood of a single insect alone- an insect the alchemist’s called the ‘Kodoku’. As lucrative as was attaining this poison however, the problem lied in identifying this insect- its appearance, shape and size changed from region to region and from continent to continent. Sometimes it took the appearance of a ladybug and other times a horned-beetle. In order to determine the identity of this special insect the alchemists came up with an ingenious method. They created an impregnable jar of clay out of the best sandstone they could find and placed hundreds of different insects into the same jar. The jar was made with such great mastery that it allowed no insects to escape and allowed no objects to enter. The laws of nature dictated that the insects would remain together in the jar forever. However, it turned out that as time went on, the insects’ hunger for food and power caused them to turn against each other- one insect ate another until only one remained. This sole insect contained a poison that far surpassed that of all the others and became stronger as it ate more and more insects. The alchemists at this point had succeeded in identifying the Kodoku and could extract it’s poison as long as they continued to feed it regularly. Although this folklore ends here, the actual story does not. One day, as the alchemists cheered in joy of having identified the Kodoku they so eagerly wanted, they forgot to close the lid on the very jar that was considered to be completely impregnable. This small gap was just large enough for the Kodoku inside to crawl out. Famished from not having been fed for weeks, the Kodoku ended up eating the very alchemists that nourished its growth until not even the bones remained. Yet, the Kodoku’s hunger didn’t seem to subside in the slightest. So it traveled to the next village and began eating whatever it could find there. Its poison made it unparalleled in strength and slowly but surely it began to dwindle down the population of the entire city. Yet its hunger only continued to grow. So it traveled to the next city over and ate all it could there. Very soon, the Kodoku couldn’t find any more food to eat. There was no one left to eat and no one left to spectate. So it stood there, by itself pondering what possibly was left to eat that could satiate its hunger. But there was one thing left that Kodoku realized it had never eaten. Itself.
