A day after Miko had arrived at Newgate. He woke up after a night of partying with the girls. He sat up in his bed shirtless and his hair in his face.

“…….”

His eyes behind his hair were widen to the max as if he was frightened. He sat there in silence for a bit before looking at a bottle of pills on the bedside table. It was the medication that Alexis had created for me. He slowly took it and popped a pill in his mouth and swallowed it.

“……”

His eyes and body slowly relaxed and he removed his hair out of his face.

“Are you alright?”

Tia, who was sleeping beside him, sat up with a concern look on her face.

“I’m fine.”

Miko responded with a small smile.

“Fine? I felt a powerful surge of emotions flowing into me just now.”

“Just my symptoms acting up. There’s nothing to worry about.”

Miko showed her the pill bottle.

“I took my medicine.”

He then looked at the bottle with a strange smile.

“Yes, I have this medicine created by Alexis…”

He then did something that caught Tia off guard. He burned the pills in his palm and reduced them to ash.

“Why did you do that?”

“This thing has some highly addictive substances in it. I don’t want to become Alexis’ drug addict slave.”

“You think he was trying to use drugs to control you?”

“Probably. He could’ve just done it as precaution like he said. I don’t care either way.”

Miko got out of bed.

“Everyone is a slave to something, that is an undeniable fact. However, I already chose my slave master and it’s not Alexis.”

“Then Who is it?”

Miko smiled and pointed at himself.

“Miko. I’m enslaved by his goals and I will continue to work towards them even after my body is destroyed.”

Miko yawned and started to stretch, not realizing that Tia was looking at him with a strange look. He grinned and said-

“Enough of that. It’s time for work.”

The Silver Nest, Newgate City. Bloom was in the middle of going through some paperwork when she got a call that someone was here to see her.

“Sup.”

Miko said after walking into her office.

“This is a surprise. I thought that you’d be going around the country having a good time.”

“I plan to, but since I’m merely a guest in your country I thought that it would be rude if I didn’t check in with you every now and then.”

“How nice of you. Especially after what happened last night.”

“Come on. That guy was a dick and he deserved to get his ass kicked.”

“Well, you aren’t wrong. Antione is a dick, his father is one too.”

“So we’re on the same page.”

“No. We’re both sovereigns of a state so you know that there are times when we have to make those kind of people happy to achieve a goal.”

“Not in Renacido. That kind of behavior will result in death, no exceptions.”

“Isn’t that a little harsh?”

“No. Renacido is all about freedom so trying to rob someone of their freedom for no good reason is unacceptable.”

“Hmm…”

Bloom thought about for a bit before pressing the intercom in front of her.

“Send a message to Jean-Pierre Blanche. Tell him that his son, Antione is no longer a government official effective immediately. That is all.”

Bloom looked up at Miko with a smile.

“I guess I’ll take a page out of your book.”

Miko seemed a bit surprised before he started laughing.

“I like you, Bloom Newgate. It seems that we can really get along.”

“Thank you for the compliment.”

“I have a favor though. There’s someone I think I owe an apology to. Can I get his address?”

Kaido had a perplex look on his face when he saw a group of people in his house after waking up and coming downstairs to eat breakfast.

“Why are you in my house, Miko?”

Miko and the girls were sitting around the dining table eating eggs, sausage, and toast.

“I came to apology about last night but you were sleeping, so Hana here decided to make breakfast for us.”

Miko gulped down some orange juice after speaking.

“You’re a pretty good cook, Hana.”

“Thanks. It’s a honor having a real goddess compliment my cooking.”

“Such a sweet girl.”

Tia nodded and smiled.

“Ishma, would you like some more eggs?”

“Yes, please…..Wait, did I say please?”

“You’re becoming more civilized. Why are you so shocked?”

Regis asked.

“I don’t know why but I feel warm inside when I talk to her.”

“Now that you mentioned it, me too.”

The girls looked confused. Hana went to get more eggs for Ishma and was humming a tone.

“Come on and eat, Kaido. It’s your house. You don’t need to mind us.”

“Says the guy who invaded my house while I was asleep.”

Kaido grumbly sat down and Hana placed a plate with food in front of him. He took a bite out of a sausage and spoke-

“So, What did you want to apologize about?”

“For interrupting your first night back with Hana. I have a habit of not thinking about how my actions will affect others. So I wanted to apologize.”

“So basically you’re apologizing for ruining our night together by interrupting our morning together?”

“Pretty much.”

“Are you picking a fight with me?”

“Kaido.”

Hana sat down and glared at Kaido.

“Ah, it’s ok. I like it when he speaks his mind. Back at the academy he acts like the perfect gentlemen which pissed me off. I don’t like pretenders after all. So seeing him be himself is more pleasing.”

Miko grinned.

“Now that I think about it, we’ve never fought back at the academy did we?”

“No, because I had no intention of doing so.”

“Really? But you fought Ace and Sora. They’re my apostles by the way.”

Miko explained to Hana.

“Well, I think if we fought then, I would’ve lost.”

“Are you saying that you can win now?”

Hana frowned at Kaido’s question. Kaido ignored her and pressed Miko to answer with his eyes.

“Nah. I was out for 6 months and only woke up a few days ago. In those 6 months you’ve grown a lot stronger and widened the gap between us. So defeating you would be more difficult than defeating Tang.”

Miko wiped his mouth with napkin, indicating that he had finished eating.

“Let’s change the topic, since it makes Hana upset.”

He put down the napkin and smiled.

“Let’s talk about you two?”

Kaido’s eyes narrowed.

“No need to be alarmed. I’m just curious about a few things. Whether you answer or not is completely up to you.”

“Go ahead.”

Miko nodded.

“You were called a dragon star like Tang, Zora, and Klaus; however, unlike the other three you don’t really feel like a dragon. If I were to describe it, you felt like a beast more than anything.”

Miko pointed at Tia.

“Tia here said that there were four dragon presences at the academy. I naturally thought that these presences came from the Four Dragon Stars since they were proxies….”

“But the thing is, I heard that Fafnir, the fourth dragon is missing.”

Tia added.

“But I can sense a little bit of his power in you. I’m curious as to how that is possible since you don’t seem like a Proxy.”

“No comment.”

Kaido answered quickly. Tia nodded and showed no indication of pressing the issue.

“Then, do you possess other powers outside of Fafnir?”

“No comment.”

He shut down Momo’s question too.

“Alright. Not revealing your secrets to us is a smart move.”

Miko looked at hana.

“Hana, May I ask you a question?”

Hana nodded.

“Whenever I’m looking at you, talking to you, or even near you I feel fuzzy inside. I feel as if I would try my best to keep you smiling. If I was stupid I would say that I’m in love with you but that’s impossible. Oh, I’m not disrespecting you in anyway. I think Kaido is lucky to have you, it’s just that I’m not one to fall in love easily. I took me nearly killing her for me to realize that I love a girl name Luka, after all. As for cases like Momo and Tia here, we’re always together so it’s natural I’ll develop feelings for them. As for Hina, we’re pretty compatible.”

“Dude, did you really just confess that you have feelings for multiple women? And in front of everyone like this?”

Kaido asked.

“Yes. Is there a problem?”

Kaido was flabbergasted by Miko’s innocent smile and response.

“My point is that I don’t fall in love just like that and I don’t believe in love at first sight. So me being charmed by you is highly unlikely.”

“So you want to know if I’m using some kind of ability to charm you?”

Miko nodded. Hana giggled.

“I’m not using an ability or anything like that. People just seem to have this reaction to me since birth. I don’t know why.”

“Interesting. Well, it’s not that strong anyway. If I put my mind to it I can easily become immune to it, so it’s not like you can make someone your slave or anything. I was just curious.”

“I have an idea of what’s the cause. If you want I can tell you.”

Tia asked Hana.

“R-Really?”

“I’m an ancient goddess. There’s a few things I don’t know or aren’t familiar with.”

“Then, could you tell me? It’s always been on my mind.”

“It’s simple really. You were blessed by the heavens as a child.”

“Really? Something that cliché?”

Miko was unconvinced.

“Well, it’s the truth. Sometimes when a mortal with an exceptionally pure soul is born a god will take a liking to that child and give them their blessing. Look at the Flameheart Clan. Joesph and his brothers were blessed by Aphrodite.”

“Wait, then could she get some special power from that blessing like the Flamehearts?”

Momo asked.

“It’s possible. The problem however, I can’t figure out what god blessed her. If she could figure it out then she could unlock some heavenly power with a special type of training.”

“Really?”

Tia nodded.

“The fact that your soul and heart is still pure increases the chances of you obtaining some special powers.”

Hana became a little excited and smile which caused everyone to feel fluffy inside. Miko looked at Kaido who was staring at Hana and thought-

(So this is his reverse scale? I feel sorry for anyone who tries to touch it in the future.)

He smiled.

(I think that he’ll become really terrifying then.)

He stood up and looked at everyone.

“Since we’ve already had breakfast together how about we spend the day getting more familiar with each other. I’m sure there’s a lot of things we can learn from each other.”
