《Young Adversary》198th Adversary: Miko’s Intentions

Newgate City. Miko was relaxing inside his hotel room with the girls when he had an unexpected visitor.
“Hey, Don.”
Edward came knocking at their door.
“Don, I think you should consider moving residences. You’re too easy to find.”
“So you heard about my fight with Natasa Kingsley?”
“I think all the top dogs of the country knows by now.”
“Then you’re a top dog as well?”
“That goes without saying.”
Miko laughed.
“I’m still impressed by your confidence. Anyway, you’re right though. It might be time to change homes. However, if I go off the grid Bloom will definitely react negatively.”
“Not necessarily. From what I can tell, you’re not being monitored at the moment. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be here.”
“Bloom must’ve told Jin to stop monitoring me for the time being. We’re building a relationship on trust after all.”
“I see. You got closer to her just for that purpose. Impressive.”
“What are you talking about? I approached Bloom with pure intentions. Don’t slander my name.”
“….I see. My apologies.”
Edward bowed his head apologetically.
“It isn’t a big deal. More importantly, how’s the reconstruction of the Red Light District coming along?”
“It’s pretty much good as new. A lot of people died but a lot more had already taken their place. There’s a lot of new gangs forming and they’re taking the vacant territories. As for the Usurpers, they technically won the war so they were able to attract a lot of talented people to join them.”
“I see.”
“Are you thinking of moving to the Red Light District? If so, I can supply you with accommodation.”
“That won’t be necessary. Whether I move to the Red Light District is Yet to be decided. However, since you’re offering, create a place where we can go to if needed.”
“Understood.”
Miko looked at Edward in silence for a bit.
“Say Edward, would you lie to me?”
“Only if I believe it’s necessary.”
“Good answer. Then let’s test it out. What’s your connection to the Four Pillars?”
“I have no connection to them as far as I’m concerned.”
“So you have a connection but you don’t think it’s worth mentioning.”
“……..”
Miko laughed.
“Well, whatever. Let’s talk about those Pillars. If they were to challenge Bloom for the throne who would win?”
“It depends on a lot factors.”
“Like?”
“Well, the biggest factor would be whose side Kaido and Jin are on?”
“…Are you saying that those two are really that powerful?”
“Rather than powerful, it’s more about their potential.”
“Elaborate.”
Edward nodded.
“You should already know what’s the queen power, right?”
“Gravity Manipulation.”
“Yes. She’s able to control gravity in anyway that she wishes. This is her Inborn Ability. With this power her destructive capabilities is off the charts. So much that when she was a soldier, she flattened an entire town at the mere age of 12. She’s a monster. However, the queen isn’t the only monster in the country. That title can also be applied to Jin Makoto, Kaido Khan, and Natasa Kingsley. Natasa is the biggest monster in my eyes but I’ll get to her later. Jin Makoto and Kaido Khan are the complete opposite of each other down to their fighting styles, but they possess a similar trait; a godly power.”

Edward pointed at Miko.
“I’ll be honest here. If the current you was to fight a serious Jin or Kaido you’ll be dead before you know it.”
“Tell me something I don’t know.”
“And yet you refuse to train.”
Momo grumbled.
“There’s something I want to test out. That’s why I’m refusing to train for now, I told you that.”
Miko gestured Edward to continue.
“Although the two are indeed powerful, what makes them dangerous is the abnormal rate they growth in strength. They are capable of growing during battles. In other words, the longer the battle the stronger they’ll become. That means that a long term battle would be beneficial to them. As it stands both sides are pretty much equal so a long term battle is unavoidable.”
“I see….Earlier you said whoever has them on their side would win…Are you saying that there’s a possibility that they might betray Bloom?”
“Yes.”
“I find that unlikely.”
Tia remembered how intense Jin was when he declared that he would destroy all who threaten Bloom. She found it hard to imagine him betraying her.
“Hmm….Well, Jin is a stretch but its possible with Kaido if the right methods are used. The Pillars know this and want to take at least him away from Bloom. If they do, then they can win.”
“So whoever Kaido sides with will win huh?”
Miko mumbled.
“As for the Pillars-”
“Ah, that’s okay for now. I don’t need to hear about them yet.”
“….What?”
“I don’t need to hear about them. I was just curious who would win in a between them and Bloom.”
Miko stood up as if he was leaving.
“Wait, wait, wait, Don. You can’t overlook the Pillars, they’re incredibly strong and capable.”
“I assume so if they’re giving Bloom trouble. However, they’re not my problem but hers.”
(I thought that he wanted to take out the Pillars for the queen…But now he couldn’t care less? Why?)
Miko placed his hand on Edward’s shoulder.
“Don’t think so hard, Edward. I have my reasons. Now if you excuse me, there’s somewhere I need to visit.”
********
The Newgate Country is a country sponsored by MYTH; this is a something that everyone knows. In fact, the reason why this country is advance is because of this fact. So it made sense that MYTH had some kind of base here. Miko arrived at this base that was located at the edge of the capital city.
“This place doesn’t stand out as much as I thought it would. If it wasn’t for the sign I would’ve thought that it was a normal company building.”
Miko said while entering the building which didn’t have a single guard in sight.
(I feel like I’m being watched. They must have a thousand cameras in this place. Also, I feel like wearing a disguise here would be meaningless.)
Miko’s appearance returned to his real one while he made his way to the front desk. A woman was sitting there and watching him with a smile.
“I sense no life from her…Must be an Android.”
Miko stopped in front of the desk.
“Good evening.”
“Good evening, Miko. We’ve been expecting your arrival for a while now.”

“I’m sure you have.”
Miko took something out of his pocket. It was an emblem with a burning hammer in it. He gave it to the female android, who took it and started inspecting it.
“I’ve confirm it’s authentic.”
She put it away.
“So May I know what are you commands?”
“I want to meet Mari. I know that she’s here.”
“Well, I expected that you’d want to talk.”
Someone came up to the desk without making a sound. It was a little girl. The girl looked to be around 9, had pink hair, a cute face and two different colored eyes; pink and gold.
“…You’re not the Mari I met in Renacido.”
“That’s right. This is our first meeting. However, be rest assured. We share memories from time to time so I’m as familiar with you as the others.”
“I see. It doesn’t matter really as long as I talk to Mari.”
Mari smiled and gestured Miko to follow her.
“I sense no other living beings in this place besides you.”
“We don’t really need living beings here. It’s just a small base after all. If a problem arises the staff here can handle it.”
“Those must be some competent androids.”
“We designed them after all.”
Mari led Miko to a room where she sat behind a desk while he sat in a comfortable chair.
“First, I’m just going to ask in case.”
Mari held the emblem Miko had earlier in front of her.
“You do know what this is right?”
“MYTH’s emblem. I can use it to order anything I want from all the branches across the world once.”
“Yet, you used it to meet me?”
“It’s my way of telling you that I’m serious.”
“….Very well. Let’s hear what you want to talk about.”
“It’s about Bloom Newgate.”
“I expected as much. Do you want us to help her take care of the Pillars?”
Miko shook his head.
“I want you to strip her of her title as queen.”
“…….Huh? What did you say?”
“Strip Bloom of her queen status.”
“Why?”
“I have my reasons.”
Mari looked at Miko in silence for a while.
“I can’t do that. Bloom has proven herself to be a great queen. Striping her of her status would be wrong.”
Miko didn’t reply for a while and only stared at Mari in silence.
“I just want to confirm, if she was to be overthrown…How would you guys respond?”
“We wouldn’t do anything. If she was incompetent enough to have her throne stole then she’s not the right person for the job.”
“Then what if she was beaten by a party outside of the country.”
“Then we would get involved because that would be like someone is trying to rob us.”
Miko nodded.
“So outsiders are a no go.”
“It seems that you really want her to lose her throne. Aren’t you allies?”
“It’s because we’re allies why I want her to lose her throne.”
Mari looked confused.
“Whether it’s you or Tiana Draxler I just can’t understand how you Satans think.”
“Like I said, I have my reasons.”
“I’m sure you do, but if you want her to lose her throne she must first be defeated. Otherwise we won’t strip her of her power.”
“I guess there’s no other choice to continue and observe the situation.”
“There is a solution. You can become king of this country. If you wanted we would support you.”
“I have no interest ruling this country.”
“Why? It would greatly increase your military strength.”
Miko laughed.
“If I take this place as my own it’s the same as taking New Era into my bed. I’ll be consuming slow acting poison that will eventual devour me whole.”
“You make us sound horrible….”
“Because you are.”
Miko stood up and looked like he was going to leave.
“Wait.”
Mari threw something at him and he caught it. It was the emblem he handed over earlier.
“Since you didn’t get what you wanted, I have no right to cash in on it.”
Miko smirked.
“You people sure know how to please others when you want something from them.”
Miko pocketed the emblem.
“I’ll keep it for now but I think I’ll cash it in again pretty soon.”
“I hope we’ll be able to give you what you want then.”
“I hope so too.”
Miko left the room after saying that.
“He’s definitely a strange one. What reason would he want to remove Bloom?”
Mari thought about it for a while before a smile appeared on her face.
“I see, so he noticed. I never thought that he would be so kindhearted though. He must really like her. Too bad that this will definitely make Bloom hate him.”
Meanwhile Miko had left MYTH’s base and was walking down the busy streets of the capital.
“So she won’t dethrone her as I feared.”
He let out an exaggerated sigh.
“And I really wanted to try the peaceful solution this time.”
He shook his head.
“There’s still time. Everything can still end without me getting involved. Those pillars just need to win and Bloom needs to survive…..”
He stopped and looked up at the sky.
“Like the hell that would happen.”
He continued to walk with a blank look on his face that didn’t tell what he was thinking or feeling. Just like a lifeless robot marching to carry out his mission.
“It’s all up you now, Bloom.”
The Red Light District. Edward was standing on the top of building overlooking the entire city.
“This place is where I grew up; the place where I became the Code Breaker. And now it will be property of the Don in the near future….It fills me with a sense of achievement.”
He enjoyed the breeze blowing on his skin with a smile on his face.
“I can feel it. The moment that will change everything and destroy the power balance in this country is approaching.”
He spread his arms wide and shouted.
“Show me what it means to be a true Don, Miko!”
