《Young Adversary》273rd Adversary: Imperial Order

The Azalea Kingdom. Miko and the others were on the airstrip where they parked the airship.
“So you’re returning to your country?”
King Brent was there with them.
“Yes. The plan was to establish a deal with you and then go back. Once I’ve returned home I’ll send my subordinates to help your conquest. They’ll also act as my representatives. If you have any problems talk to them and they’ll talk to me.”
“I see no problem with that, but keep in mind that this project will take a long time. So I hope you won’t be too impatient in the future.”
“Trust me, I’m a patient person. If I wasn’t you would’ve been dead already.”
Brent burst out laughing but stopped when he saw that Miko wasn’t.
“You’re serious?”
Miko patted his shoulder with a smile.
“We’ll be in contact.”
Miko walked past him and spoke up.
“Alright, everyone. It’s time to leave. Don’t be sad, we’ll return on vacation when things settle down.”
He walked up to Bella and Yota.
“You two will be following me home to finalize your engagement. Things might get dangerous so mentally prepare yourself.”
“Yes.”
“Miko.”
He lifted his head and saw Momo peaking out the aircraft.
“You should be resting, Momo.”
“I know, but I just got another message.”
“Is it from Gramps?”
“It’s an imperial order.”
Miko’s eyes widened.
“So if we disobey the order we won’t be considered citizens anymore, huh? What does it say?”
“All Dragna Members around the world are to return home effective immediately.”
A grin slowly crept on Miko’s face.
“So in other words, it’s a family reunion.”
The Beast Continent was filled with dangerous areas that were crawling with beasts of all kinds. The Beast Continent was also the haven of Beastmen. One of these Beastmen was running through a forest holding his bleeding arm.
“Those bastards! They killed everyone!”
His breathing was ragged and his heart was about to burst out of his chest.
“How did they find us anyway?! We’ve been using this place as a base for decades! The beasts here are supposed to help form the perfect fortress! So how?!”
He stopped when rustling reached his ears. He scanned the surroundings with trembling eyes.
“I won’t die! I can’t die! I have so many things I want to do!”
“Death comes when we least want it.”
He spun around and his vision turned red. A burning sensation came from his eyes causing him to bend over and hold them. Blood seeped through his fingers and stained the grass.
“Death doesn’t care about your life plans or your desire to face it. It is indiscriminative in its work. This is why death is so terrifying.”
“You fucker! You cut my eyes! I’ll kill you!”
The Beastman transformed into a Tiger humanoid, a Tiger Model Catfolk. His vision returned and all of his injuries instantly regenerated. He was able to make out his attacker. Braided azure hair, honey-skin, ocean eyes, and dressed in black and gold with a sheathed sword on his waist.
“You’re the leader, aren’t you?!”

“And if I said I was?”
A dignified voice to match.
“I’m gonna kill you!”
The Beastman pounced at his attacker with power and speed that could only be found among his people. He threw a punch picturing himself destroying his enemy’s skull. As his fist was inches away from making his vision a reality, time slowed down. No, it only felt that way for him. Despite him moving in slow motion, his attacker was moving normally.
(No, it’s the opposite!)
His attacker placed his hand on his sword and pulled it, showing off a black blade with golden devils on it.
(I’m moving normally! He’s moving at incredibly high speed!)
The attacker swung his sword up and it passed through the Beastman’s arm. It came back down and past through it again. It repeated this a couple more times until it reached his shoulder. The Beastman couldn’t feel the sword when it passed through his arm, causing him to wonder if it was an illusion.
(Wait, I heard about this!)
The attacker sheathed his sword and pulled a short one from behind him.
(There are incidents where time suddenly slows down for people and they can view the world in slow motion….But)
The attacker and swung the short sword and it passed through the Beastman’s chest several times over before being sheathed.
Time resumed.
*Bam!*
His arm burst into thick slices of flesh just before it could make contact.
(But….I heard it happens before death!)
His chest burst open and his ribs opened up like wings and exposed his beating heart and lungs.
“Fuck…”
He fell to his knees and his organs spilled onto the ground. He took one last look at his killer again before tumbling over.
“…….”
His attacker silently took out a wanted poster with the Beastman’s face on it. He drew an X across it before stuffing it back in his pocket. He heard a ping and took out a dragon-shaped device. The words “Imperial Order” were showing on the screen. He read the message and spoke loudly.
“Nen, KC. It’s time to go home.”
“Alright, Rin. We’ll just have the guild come and confirm the deaths so that they can wire us our payment.”
Rin Dragna turned his back and nodded. A small smile crept on his face.
“I can’t wait to see you again, Miko.”
Elsewhere on an uncharted, a purple-haired man was reading a message while relaxing on the beach with corpses of sea monsters laying around him.
A volcanic island, an azure haired man was clashing with a group of lizardmen riding wyverns. He flew through the air blasting them out of the sky with his fists.
“I’m in a hurry so I’ll kill all of you instantly!”
A fortress in a desert. Endless gunfire rang from the walls tearing apart all who tried to invade it. An azure youth stood on top of the walls with a Gatling gun in his hands. He fired at the invaders while laughing.
“Blood for the Blood God!”
Just like how Miko was making his way home so were the other members of generations. All with clashing personalities and ideals ready to mix.

Somewhere in the Silver Continent. There was a rather rowdy tavern. This tavern was filled with all kinds of people. From thugs to prostitutes to mercenaries. In this bar, a single youth sat at a table by himself in the corner. This youth had purple hair, blue eyes, and a handsome face with a playful look on it. This person was Aeon Dragna.
He was drinking a glass of hard liquor while silently observing everyone in the room. He suddenly stopped drinking and narrowed his eyes.
“It’s about to start.”
The moment he said that the bartender who was enjoying the attention she was getting from the drunken men suddenly scrawled.
“Who are you calling ugly, you bald bitch?!”
She took a bottle of liquor and broke it over the head of a nearby woman. No one around her showed any reaction to her action but instead also committed similar acts of violence. A thug stabbed his friend in the eyes with a knife. A prostitute bit off the ear of a client. A waitress started strangling one of her colleagues. Before you knew it everyone in the tavern was trying to kill each other.
Only Aeon was exempt from this.
He sighed and watched all the people in the bar suffer horrible deaths at each other’s hands. When there was only one person left, that person took up a knife and slit their own throat. Silence covered the bar as Aeon continued to drink unbothered.
“How boring.”
He finally said after a while.
“Hm?”
It was then that the entrance opened and someone walked in. Seeing this, person Aeon placed his glass on the table. The person spotted him and walked towards him with a smile.
“You need to start suppressing your Malignancy when we’re having our meetings. Even I get bored if I’m forced to watch the same scene repeat itself over and over again.”
“Sorry, sorry. With you being who you are I thought you would love it.”
The person took a seat.
“I mean, you are my son after all.”
The person who sat in front of Aeon had azure and purple hair, a handsome but devilish face, sharp eyes filled with bloodlust, and a smile that could frighten the devil.
This person was Nero’s youngest son, Miko’s uncle, and Aeon’s father.
The personification of chaotic evil-
THE DEVIL’S JOKER, RIHAN DRAGNA!
“I’m your son, but I’m also my mother’s son.”
Aeon spoke with an irritated tone.
“You make it sound like your mother is a saint.”
Rihan laughed.
“Trusted me, you’re born from two evils. And evil only breeds more evil.”
He smirked playfully.
“Isn’t that right, Gremlin?”
Aeon didn’t answer and took a sip of his liquor. Rihan smiled and stood from his seat. He walked up to the bar counter that was dripping with blood and body parts. He picked up an empty glass and a bottle of liquor; both were covered in blood. He walked with them in his hands and placed them on the table.
“Well, don’t look so irritated. What I said was only the truth.”
He opened the bottle and poured liquor into the glass. The golden liquid gently mixed with the blood in the glass and gave it a new color.
“I mean me and my siblings are great examples. Our father is a monster who plunged the world in chaos over and over again for his amusement.”
He didn’t hesitate to drink the blood cocktail.
“And our mothers are no different. Kimiko is the world’s #1 assassin, and she gave birth to my psychotic brother. As for my mother….”
He laughed and took another drink.
“But you’re far worse than Gramps and Nova. You lack any form of compassion whatsoever. You only live to destroy, rebuild, and destroy again until you’re satisfied.”
Aeon wore a face of disgust.
“Me worse than my father and brother? Hahaha, that might be true but it might not be too.”
He swirled his liquor in the glass.
“Those two are evil but at the same time they’re not.”
“Then what are they?”
“Humans.”
He said and refilled his glass.
“Calling a person good or evil is stupid in the first place. Humans are far more complicated than that to be so easily defined. Everyone has a side of them that could be considered ‘good’ by many, but they naturally have a side that can be called evil as well. That’s what makes us human. But let’s dwell into it a bit further.”
He put down his glass and stretched out both hands.
“What is good? What is evil? These words have different meanings depending on the person and life they lived. A boy who grew up fighting every day to survive may believe that it is right to crush others to get what you want, does that make him evil? A girl who grew up in a good religious family may think its wrong to kill, does that make her good? Now let's reverse the roles. That same boy also believes that it’s wrong to lie. Does that make him good? Let’s say that same girl believes that all pagans should burn in hell does that make her evil? Now tell me what is good and what is evil.”
Aeon didn’t answer immediately and stayed quiet because he knew that any answer he gave would be declared wrong by his father.
“….Then what about you who declared yourself as evil earlier? Isn’t what you said contradictory to your declaration earlier?”
“It is. But I’m different from my father and brother who still clings on their humanity despite all that they’ve done.”
A wicked smile appeared on his face.
“Instead of clinging on to my humanity, I’m trying to erase it from within me.”
“Why?”
“Because with it, I won’t be able to kill my shitty father.”
Rihan’s eyes gave off an overwhelming bloodlust when he said that.
“I could never understand your desire to kill Gramps.”
“You don’t need to, he knows why.”
Rihan had a weird smile on his face when he said.
“Anyway, let’s get to the main reason we’re here…..Tell me, how is Miko doing?”

Fortuna Verto
A girl’s luck changes when her world changes upon itself, sending her back and forth between a world she knows and another that shouldn’t even exist. Working with her parallel self from that other world, the two must adjust to their alternate form when visiting the other’s world, as they search for a way to escape the chains of misfortune they are bound to. While this story is the conclusion of the trilogy, it is also fully capable of standing alone in its own light, as the world of Celese itself is no longer a place the characters will be journeying through. However, the events of the story are a spoiler for all previous books, in case that matters to anyone. This book has an additional chapter after the final chapter that represents the trilogy conclusion, and should not be read until all three books are read first. Fortuna Verto continues the events of Essentia Animus to advance society into a sci-fi interpretation of Celese, bringing events to a distant world of another star. At the same time, events interpret a real-world advancement into a similar sci-fi age of another planet that shares Earth’s galaxy, a planet that has also been linked by the Celesi Veil. English remains predominant in both worlds of the story, but the presence of both sides makes certain Aethyx terms stand out, while Earth-styled scientific terms will also stand in a powerful contrast. Instrumentation remains an important aspect of the Elemental Era, but the influence of the gift has grown distant after discovering the superiority of the elements. Harnessing the elements had eliminated some of the original limitations of instrumentation, allowing for a self-sustaining focal source that provides solutions to problems such as automation. This turns the development available from the previous modern-day sense of a fantasy to one that is deep-future. Finally, opening access to the passage across the veil will open this progress in comparison to a very similar deep-future parallel world without such fantasy elements, contrasting the laws of physics with the laws of elements in a convergence of time and space.
