《Young Adversary》278th Adversary: Beast Rebelling Against The Heavens

After leaving Miko’s home Rihan was walking through the streets of Nami.
(He really made something out of himself. If his goal was to be a great ruler then he would be well on his way. That’s only if that was his goal though.)
“I’m sure everything he’s doing is only insurance for his people for when he starts acting on his true goal…His kindness will truly be the end of him.”
He smiled and glanced at the person walking beside him.
“Don’t you agree, son?”
Aeon kept his eyes in front of him and didn’t spare his father a glance.
“Why did you agitate him?”
“Miko? Who knows? Maybe I wanted to knock a Satan do a peg or two? Sounds like something I would do, right?”
“….Well, whatever.”
“Why are you upset? I tell you you’re too moody. It will get in your way as the leader of Mamushi.”
“If you think so then assign a new leader. You’re the founder, after all.”
“Nah, I like the idea of my son being the secret guardian of this empire. It strokes my pride.”
Rihan laughed.
“Oh, how’s the thing with the Church of Augustus going?”
“….The spies we planted in it have disappeared.”
“So they’re able to weed out those who don’t belong….They’re more competent than I thought…Or did I underestimate their potential?”
“The leader of the church, Pope Sharman, is a cautious man. He’s always guarded by his devouts and doesn’t meet up with strangers until he’s judged that they’re safe.”
“If he’s like that, assassination may be difficult. That being said I doubt that Rogan would allow it to happen.”
“Rogan and Nina Dragna are the backbones of the Augustine Regime and the Church are their direct subordinates. If we want to eliminate the church then we must deal with them first.”
“But it’s easier said than done right?”
Aeon nodded.
“The number of people switching faiths are gradually increasing. It won’t be long before they become a serious problem. Destroying it while it’s still being seen as nothing more than a cult is ideal.”
“Then should I do as discussed and kill Rogan and Nina?”
“That will start a war in the shadows of the capital…but it can’t be helped.”
Aeon nodded and walked off in a different direction.
“He’s grown you pretty well.”
Rihan remembered Miko’s Apostles who were ready to fight him. One of them stood out to him.
“That was Ace Gamestar wasn’t it? Aeon didn’t report anything about him…Does that mean he knows?”
He grinned.
“I take that back. He’s still a rebellious brat.”
Meanwhile, on the Beast Continent, an incident that would lead to a major change in the world was about to occur without anyone knowing.
The Beast Continent served as the den for beastmen around the world. As one would expect, it also housed some of the most dangerous beasts in the world. Rumor has it that it even had prehistoric beasts that could threaten the life of a Higher being. One of these rumored beasts resides in a place called Dead man’s Valley. This valley was covered with blood-colored mist, which gave it a sinister look.

Standing outside the valley’s entrance was a group of people. The one at the front wore traditional Chinese clothing. He had a medium build, silver hair, golden eyes, and a handsome but wild face.
“So this is where the target is?”
He turned around and to the person behind him.
“That’s right. This is their place of residence.”
The person looked around 9 and had pink hair and a beautiful doll-like face. It was MYTH’s Doll Princess, Mari.
“According to the information my father gave me, yes.”
“There’s more than one Beastly aura coming from this place.”
The man turned his attention back to the valley.
“This place is his den so I suppose that it has his descendants and followers.”
Mari walked up beside him.
“Could the infamous Chao Tiān be afraid?”
A woman walked out and spoke with a laugh.
Chao Tiān also known as the Beast Rebelling Against The Heavens. He’s the monkey king, Sun Wukong (Son Goku) Proxy as well as a former Deicider. He’s an invincible existence that’s considered the strongest beast Proxy in history. Chao turned around and looked at the woman l.
“Mad Sorceress, just because we’re in Nexus together doesn’t mean that I won’t kill you if you piss me off.”
The woman, Mad Sorceress Victoria smiled. Victoria was the proxy of the Greek sorceress Medea, who was known for several gruesome acts. Victoria was also the first Inborn Ability to be recorded with the ability to steal lives and add them to her own. She was recognized as one of the most dreadful humans to ever exist.
She was a rather beautiful woman with lavender hair and was dressed in a dark-colored cloak. She had a sinister smile and a crazy look in her eyes.
“My apologies. I was just curious because you seemed overly cautious.”
“That goes to show the difference in our experiences, little girl.”
Victoria frowned at Chao’s reply but he ignored her and continued.
“During the War For Supremacy, this beast was famous for turning Gods into meat paste, demons into bones, beasts into toothpicks, and Heroes into lunch. So, of course, I’ll be cautious.”
“Then, do you want us to call for back up?”
Mari took a communicator.
“Back up?”
Chao laughed.
“Why would I do something like that?”
He faced the valley again.
“I’ve always wanted to fight this beast. I didn’t have time to 10,000 years ago, but look! The world is so peaceful that people even forgot that such a monster resided here. I have all the time in the world.”
“As expected of a war veteran.”
Another person came forward.
It was a young boy around his early teens. He had purple and azure hair and lazy blue eyes.
“Do you have a problem, Alexis Dragna?”
Alexis shook his head.
“I heard a lot about you from my father. He said that during the war you caused a huge commotion in the Hanzu Gods faction. I heard that you slaughtered so many gods that the Jade Emperor himself had to personally put a bounty on your head. The fact that you became a Deicider is natural.”
Alexis spoke with a sleepy tone. Chao looked at him from head to toe.”

“Your eyes are similar to Augustus’ you know. Uninterested in mortals and lack any form of compassion or human emotion.”
“Is that a problem?”
Chao shook his head.
“You’re the leader of Apostasia and one of the founders of the New Era, eyes like those are natural.”
Chao gaze then sharpened.
“In fact, if your eyes were soft, I would’ve killed you already.”
“Hahaha….”
Alexis laughed in monotone.
“That would be a problem.”
“Hey, are we going to do this or not?”
Said the last person. It was an obese man dressed in a suit with his hair swept back.
“I’m burning calories just standing here. Did we really need to bring someone from every branch to be here?.... Wait, I don’t see anyone from Genesis! What kinda bullshit is this?!”
“Shut it, Drake. Show more dignity as a Deicider. Hero would be embarrassed.”
Chao spat out.
“Don’t compare me to monsters like you and the Boss! I’m a weak Deicider, I won’t be of any help in capturing this beast! I wanna go home!”
“Your barriers might come in handy, that’s why you were sent as Hell Dynasty’s representative by Hero who’s busy getting his ass kicked by Rood.”
Mari laughed.
“Don’t worry, fatty. If we failed we’ll just use you as bait to allow us time to escape.”
Victoria also laughed.
“Fuck you, you skinny bitch!”
Victoria ignored Drake’s roar and continued to laugh.
“Enough. It’s time to work.”
Chao silent them with one sentence. He didn’t wait for anyone to reply and walked into the valley.
“Let’s get this over with.”
Victoria followed into the valley. The others all followed in one by one. Mari had to drag Drake inside by the way. Inside the valley was dark, but the darkness didn’t hinder anyone of them in the least. They continued to march on without delay.
“We’re being watched.”
Victoria spoke with a grin.
“Small fries. Ignore them.”
Chao walked on without care. The deeper they ventured into the valley the more gazes they felt on them.
“Looks like we can’t go any further without being attacked.”
Mari our on a serious expression. They all stopped except for Chao at this point.
“Roar!”
A giant ape-like monster jumped out of the darkness and blocked his path.
“Halt, ant! Do you know where you are?!”
Chao didn’t pay it any mind and continued to walk forward. The monster got angry when he saw that Chao didn’t acknowledge his existence.
“Insolent!”
The monster threw a punch with his truck size fist. Chao still didn’t pay him any mind and continued to walk.
*Boom!*
The fist slammed against Chao, but instead of Chao being blown away, the monster’s fist burst apart like a water balloon slamming on a wall.
“Ahhhhh?!”
The monster roared out in pain.
“Be quiet.”
The monster exploded.
“Whew.”
Alexis whistled when he saw that.
“Listen up, because I’ll only say this once.”
Chao spoke casually but his voice had immense weight.
“Block my path and die. Leave and live. Your choice.”
The others could feel countless monsters escaping for their lives.
“Any of these monsters could terrorize a small nation, but they’re like ants in front of a real monster.”
Drake was trembling while he followed behind the others.
“Well, he’s the man who took on my ancestor for two days straight. Only a monster can do that. I’m kinda jealous Ringo convinced him to serve under him.”
Alexis showed a rare smile.
“I even heard that he won in the end, but that’s just a rumor. And to make it worst, Chao refuses to say what really happened between him and Augustus.”
“Maybe he’s the one who lost, but was too ashamed to speak out.”
Victoria giggled and said.
“You seriously want to die don’t you?”
Mari looked at her with widened eyes.
“What? I was just saying that it’s possible.”
“You’re only able to say that because you have over a million lives stored up.”
Drake mumbled.
“Hahaha! I’m sure that Chao could kill me a million times if he wanted to.”
“Well, that’s true.”
Alexis added.
“If you people only came here to talk you can go home now.”
Chao’s tone was filled with irritation.
“No can do. What if the beast is too much for you? You’ll need reinforcements.”
Mari stood firm.
“If I’m not able to defeat it, what could you people do against it?”
“He’s right. If he’s unable to defeat it, then it’s game over for us.”
“Shut it, fatty.”
Victoria spat at Drake who was forced to dodge.
“If Chao loses, then I’ll take over.”
She cracked her knuckles.
“I already know the perfect spell to subdue it.”
She glanced at Drake.
“But I’ll need a sacrifice.”
“Fuck you! I won’t be a sacrifice!”
“Ah, come on. Don’t be so selfish. It’s for the greater evil.”
“Stop it, Victoria.”
Mari cut in.
“If you work Drake up too much he’ll burn calories. If that happens his barriers won’t be as strong.”
“I know. I know.”
Victoria giggled.
“Could you people shut up?”
The veins were bulging in Chao’s head.
They walked further into the valley until they encountered a gigantic throne made of bones. Sitting on the throne was a terrifying monster. It looked like an ape, had shape sabertooth fangs, crocodilian skin, and a giant snake as a tail. This was one of the walking disasters that could plunge the world in chaos with its every move.
The Devil Ape.
“Are you the ones who disrupted my kingdom?”
Devil Ape spoke. Chao stepped forward.
“It’s a pleasure, Devil Ape. I’m Chao Tiān and I’m here to offer you a proposition.”
“Chao Tiān (To Surpass the Heavens)?”
Devil Ape burst out laughing.
“For you to call yourself by such an arrogant name in front of me…”
He looked down at Chao with an intimidating gaze.
“You have balls, I’ll admit that.”
Chao grinned savagely in return and took off his cloak and showed off his stone-like muscles.
“Since a Satan like yourself is saying it, I’ll take it as praise. However-”
He cracked his knuckles.
“How about we decide if I’m being arrogant or not?”

Thorns of Jade [A Progression Fantasy LitRPG Adventure]
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Solo Leveling meets Chainsaw Man in this fun new LitRPG Series To become the king of Kissen, Noah Hearts trains to become the strongest swordsman in the world. The only problem — he can’t use Aura at all! Everything changes when he’s left for dead in a forest on the Kissen Fields… In a world where horrific creatures known as “demons” terrorize mankind, those who wield the mysterious force known as “aura” are the only ones who can fight them. These fighters call themselves the “Wolves of Haven”, and strive to create a world where demons no longer roam their lands! Though Noah Hearts is an exceptional swordfighter for a young man, his total inability to use aura means he could never hope to defeat the demons! Despite this major setback, he still hopes to become the king of Kissen and create a better world for those in his country! As he walks home from his daily training, his world is shifted upside down when he sees a few familiar faces in his home… This is the first draft of what I want to be a 9 volume series. I'll be editing, rewriting, and releasing the volumes on Amazon once they're finished. I'll admit, I'm finishing chapters in sprints because I want to participate in the writathon (Apr. 2022) so I apologize if there are some issues with the prose. Point them out to me and I'll fix them! Anyway, I have no backlog, but I plan on uploading chapters as I finish them. I don't want to spend weeks re-editing and never publishing like I used to, so I'm just gonna post when it's done. Like I said, this story is my take on a mix between solo leveling and chainsaw man. Specifically, the MC is the only one that can consciously level up (sort of), and the plot is fast paced and emotional just like chainsaw man. There are plenty of other inspirations, like HxH, Jojo, JJK, Cradle, and even FF6, but the first two are the biggest. Basically, if you don't like Shounen stuff, this probably isn't the story for you. Regardless, I hope you all like the story!
