Sup, Everyone! Kodyak here! I’ve been meaning to write this for days now, but I’ve been hesitating because I was pondering what to do, but I’ve finally made my decision. I’m leaving this site and will be moving to Webnovels. I’ve already discussed this so it’s not random and you guys should have an idea of my reasons for leaving. I originally wanted to finish this book before I move the series to a new site but I ran into a problem. It seems that I’ve lost the majority of my motivation to write. I’ve been writing out of obligation rather love for the story for over half a year now. Don’t get me wrong I still love writing this story, it’s just that the lack of engagement and views discouraged me whenever I post. This is why I’ve been posting less frequently recently, it feels forced. I enjoy writing the most when I’m writing without needing to post. I don’t think I’ll ever stop writing so you don’t need to worry about me dropping the story. I’m just moving to start fresh somewhere else. I’m going to scan through the story and change what I think needs to change and improve what can be improved, so it’s not like I’m moving just yet. I want to polish my skills for a while before I move. I also want to draw illustrations for the story like characters, big scenes, and scenery; so I’ll be focusing on improving my art while polishing my story.
Basically, I’m going on a training arc! Lol!
Anyway, I’m grateful to everyone who stuck with me over the years, as such when I start writing the next arc I’ll post a link to a site where you guys can read it before anybody else. Haven’t decided which site though.
With that out of the way, let’s discuss the last arc! In all honesty, this arc was exhausting to write mainly because I lacked the motivation to give the quality I wanted, so I’m going to polish it in the future. This arc was originally supposed to be a short one but as I wrote it I saw the need to increase the length. In the end, it became an arc that served as a setup for major events in the series. So in a way, it’s the most important arc I’ve written so far, which gives me a bigger reason why it needs to be perfect. That being said, I did everything I wanted, so it’s alright.

Let me explain why this arc was so exhausting to write other than lack of motivation. First, it was longer than I expected which meant it had structuring problems. Second, I didn’t know what I wanted to reveal in this arc and it caused me a lot of headaches. In the end, I revealed things that I didn’t plan to reveal yet. This was because I wanted the next arc to wrap up Book 1. Third, believe it or not, fighting chapters are the hardest to write. If I’m not pumped up I can’t write them because they won’t seem exciting. This arc had 30 chapters of constant fighting. That’s incredibly hard to write for me. It exhausted the fuck out of me lol. Especially since I was trying to not let the fights be the same. Well, I was satisfied with them so I can’t complain.
Anyway, a lot of stuff happened this arc. So much that the story is completely different than it was during the Newgate arc which is a good thing. A lot of new characters were introduced and I had to make them all interesting which I think I’ve succeeded in for the most part. There were many twists and turns, reveals, and interactions that I think were done well but could’ve been a bit smoother. Maybe I’m just hard on myself.
You got to peek in Miko’s head and understand him a little more, but Miko being the manipulative person he is the characters and the readers only saw what he wanted. Most things went as he planned so he came out the arc the biggest winner.
By the way, I’m the type of person that believes that characters need to earn everything they desire. I’m also not afraid to put down any character. You could be the Supreme Being himself you’re gonna pick up some Ls in the story. There is no such thing as invincibility or untouchability in my story. Anyone can beat anyone. After all, it’s more interesting that way. So expect every character to get their ass kicked or their plans derailed a couple times. In case you forgot, I love to make my characters suffer so expect more suffering.

Alright, let’s take about the future of the story. In case you’ve forgotten Young Adversary is only Book 1 of a trilogy. If I had to describe it with one sentence it would be “A Villain’s Origin Story”. Don’t get wrong. Miko is the Protagonist of the series but he’s pretty much the Villain too. He wasn’t saying it to be edgy, Miko isn’t a hero, Anti-Hero, or Tragic Hero. He’s the villain. In Book 2, that’s the role he’ll play. In eyes of everyone in the story, he’s evil incarnate. The purpose of Book 1 is to make the readers know how he became the villain and why he does the things he does.
There are 3 main Characters, Miko, Lennox, and someone yet to officially appear. I’m sure you all know who I’m talking about. The Adversary series will follow them and those around them. Meaning, there will times where the story shifts from all 3 and follow people connected to them. This is a world-driven story after all. The plot doesn’t pause when the protagonists do.
As for the next arc, it opens up with Miko and Lennox’s conversation where you’ll learn more about them. Lennox, by the way, is Hero, one of the 5 leaders of New Era, as well as the Strongest fully Human character to officially debuted in the story. In a sense he’s the Hero of the story, basically Miko’s greatest enemy. On paper anyway. Don’t take everything stated at face value.
Anyway, the next arc is supposed to be the longest. Over 100 chapters. Why? This is the final arc for Young Adversary. That and this arc will center around a possible world war. Meaning that this will be the most gruesome, action-packed, mind-breaking, and important arc. The things that will happen in this war will shape the world and characters. I don’t plan on holding back in this arc. I’m throwing everything into this war. You’ll think that the war's over and boom a new side enters. You think someone will survive and boom they got killed in the most gruesome way. Basically, I’m going to depict a world war and how insane it is without brakes. Which is why it will need careful planning, preparation, research to execute it to the level I want. That also contributes to why I’m leaving to take a break to come back refreshed.
Anyway, I’ve said what I can remember at the time of writing this. Thank you again for supporting me for what, 6 years? I really appreciate it.
If you have anything suggestions to improve the story's quality rather it's past or future arcs feel free to comment on them below.
