Well I did know that there was one guy who had infiltrated the Guild, but he wasn’t in a very important position, and so far those guys hadn’t even took notice of us, so I didn’t think it was him. But if the search didn’t yield any results then it might be him.

I arrived at Eric’s office, and knocked on the door. “Come in” he told me, so I opened the door and entered.

“Ah, Lord Isaac, it’s you. Let me guess, you’re here about the traitor. I was just about to go find you to report about the matter” he said. I sat down on the other side of his desk and said,

“Yes, I came to see you about him. Any results?”

“Yes we managed to find him relatively quickly and have already questioned him. It doesn’t seem like it’s only a single assassin group going against us, but instead almost all of them joined together. But this was to be expected since we took most of the market by storm, so they would naturally retaliate.” He said.

“All of them? That’s good, it gives us an opportunity. Let’s absorb them into our own organization. This way our number of weaker assassins will increase exponentially. We can also take the more talented assassins here to the castle for training. Do we know where their HQ’s are?” I asked.

“Yes, it seems like all the leaders and the strongest assassins have gathered at a single place to discuss how to take care of us. What shall we do Lord?” He asked. I remained silent for a while, thinking about our options.

“Well, taking care of them should be easy. They probably don’t have any B rankers, or at least not many. But for the sake of putting up a show, let’s gather our strongest assassins and guards, then waltz into that little base of theirs. From there they’ll either surrender, or die it’s as simple as that. As for which vampires will go, it will be me, you, Kato and Aylard. The rest will stay back and take care of the vampires. Also tell them to take their vampire protégés with them. We leave tomorrow, so prepare everything” I said. Eric stood up and replied with a “Yes Sir!”, then I left. The next day a group was gathered outside in the main courtyard. There were ten elite assassins, gifted to us from Valen. Another fifteen elite guards were present, making it twenty five C rankers. The other smaller assassins groups might not have any C rankers, maybe only their leaders were C ranked, but we already had this many, and that wasn’t even the main force. There were also four B rank vampires, one of which could even compare with a middle stage A ranker. That was me of course. The other three could compare with a normal peak stage B ranker. Other than these guys there were three more vampires that were at the D and C stages. I, the progenitor could skip a whole rank, while the pureblood could skip three stages, so if they were at the early stage, then they would compare to a normal peak stage, while a normal vampire could transcend one or two stages. So even though two of the vampires were D ranked, they could still compare with a C rank, since they were late and peak stage.

Thus our group of 32 left the still unnamed castle and village, to journey to where those weak assassins were hiding. Surprisingly enough, they were actually very close to us, it only took two days to get there. We arrived at a castle, nowhere near as amazing as ours, but still a castle. A few armed men ran out from the castle.

“Leave or die!” they yelled at us. The response they got from us was our assassins fired off arrows as quick as lighting, piercing their small brains. Instantly almost all of them died. Only three of the about thirty guards were left. There were only ten assassins with us, but they had each fired off three arrows, dealing with a group of thirty in an instant. I walked forwards.

“You three insects, go get your puny leaders and bring them here. Let them know that angering us was not a good choice!” I yelled at them. The three guards or assassins quivered in fear, then quickly ran and stumbled away. Moments later, a large group of assassins came out of the castle. Five men walked forwards in front of all the others, side to side.

“What is the meaning of this?! You come waltzing in here and kill thirty of our assassins, surely you don’t expect to leave here alive?” One of the five asked. I smiled at his stupidity, but alas he couldn’t imagine what calamity had struck him.

“Leave here alive? Don’t kid yourself, you might have the larger number, but just one of us four would be enough to eliminate all of you. But I will give you a chance to live, and will only kill half of you here, then the rest will have the choice of serving me or dying. Even though you went and plotted against us, and even killed one of our assassins, I can still be so unimaginably merciful. You should thank the gods for your luck.” I said.

“Preposterous! Only someone at the A rank, or border of it could do something like that!” he screamed his lungs out. He seemed to have realized who we were.

“Kato, kill half the people present.” I said in monotonous voice.

“Yes.” Kato replied, then lifted one of his arms up. Suddenly the skies started darkening and pillars made of an extremely dark material sprouted out from the ground, surrounding the group of mortal assassins. Suddenly the pillars formed a wall, and started contracting towards the assassins, forming a box. Half of the assassins were inside this box. ‘Coincidentally’ all of these assassins were the weakest. We wouldn’t want all the assassins with potential to die on us, now would we?

“There, I have showed you mercy and only killed half of you. Anyone that subjects himself to me will live, while the rest dies. As I said this the dark box disappeared. The only thing that was left was splatters of blood and pieces of flesh. The other side was horrified by the sight, and it only took an instant for two thirds of them to already submit themselves.

“Good choice, but this offer also stands for the rest of you. Even you puny leaders. What are you waiting for? You will be allowed to continue operating at your respective bases as before, the only difference is that you work for me. We will only take a few of you with potential away to the main base.” I explained to them. Those leaders weren’t foolish, so they submitted themselves. After the leaders submitted, the rest soon followed.

“Good, you’re not complete morons.” I said, then turned to Eric and the rest.

“Go bind the leaders with the blood bond. And Eric, have your boy stay here to see if he can find anyone with potential, then have him bring them back. Eric you should also stay here for a while longer and explain things to them, like how we are going to do things from now on. I leave everything here in your control. Now hurry up and do the bond thing so we can leave” I said. After the bond was established, much to the mortals’ confusion, Kato, Aylard and I left. The rest stayed behind to take care of things on this side.

Now we had a lot more assassins, but most of them weren’t very good, but hopefully we would get some good seeds out of this. Since we were travelling alone this time, it only took a couple of hours to get back home. Back home, I went to check on the prisoners. They had definitely not had a very good two days.
