“Put all of these maggots in jail!”
“Yes, Lord Governor!”
As the soldiers surrounded us, I knew that this was an inescapable situation. Tried as hard as I could but I won’t be able to free myself and the others. The Lord Governor came and in that instant, our fate was made known immediately. There was no parity nor negotiations. Turning his nose at us in contempt, he made his feeling known to his subordinates as we were shackled hastily.
Before long, we were taken into a dungeon. Our journey was unpleasant at best; being jeered and insulted was expected. But what was not expected was we were pelted with stones and rotten eggs. I expected a few rotten vegetables too but fortunately, this was something that all of us could do without.
“I never knew our first trip to High Asgard could end like this,” Mimi spoke as she peered through the bars of our cell.
“You mean to start like this? Instead of marvelling its architectures and histories, we now spend our time in jail?” I sat at the most back, overseeing everyone else. Mimi continued to peer out our cell while the others just kept quiet.
“Sucks to be stuck in here of all places. Archaeology my arse. Give me a break for God’s sake!”
Mimi whimpered after listening to my words. Her ears drooped. This experience affected her the worst as she lived and breathed archaeology. Or finding new lands and lore within it. Well, finding a one dead and long forgotten city was different than a well alive and prosperous city like this.
I was contemplating what sort of game I was in. Being jailed was a first for me even in a game. I did some juvenile detention back in my youth, but nothing beats being in a dingy, damp and decrepit place like this. Game or no game, I was not happy.

Feeling frustrated, I logged out of the game immediately. However, it did nothing to alleviate my situation even in the tiniest bit as I would find myself back in the jail the moment I logged in.
“This is useless!!” Rose was startled by the loud voice I’d made. She slept next to me with Mimi now coddling her.
This was not how I supposed to spent my time playing this game. I glanced at Popo. “How long have we been in here?” Instead, Mimi quickly answered. “A day and a half.”
“Hmpphh… blasted wretched people!” I paced myself towards the bar and shouted. “Oi, you feckers!! Let us out of here!!”
And the returning silence was really unnerving. None of us could use any skills within the confine of this small place and all our items had been confiscated. Loki’s Mischief, however, was spared since they deemed it as a cursed item. But without any active skills nor items that I could use, this ring was useless.
I grabbed the bars and shouted once more. And yet again, the silence was all I got. I turned back and was utterly pissed off. Weighing about our fate, I did not think that all of us could end up this way.
But wait… all of us? Someone was definitely missing.
“Mimi, where’s Elly?”
