《Arcana》Chapter 20 - Is That You?

A lot happened.
I encountered giant cockroach looking monsters, 6-armed monkeys with stings on their tails, wolves that had scales instead of fur and a lot more.
Today, I encountered less monsters than usual.
It feels just like the time with Hosea.
There’s probably something here that wards off creatures…
I’ve yet to know what I’m up against.
I change my pace from fast to slow to survey my surroundings more thoroughly.
I recently grasped the concept of something that Hosea’s knowledge taught me; domain.
A domain is like a bubble that wraps around an individual to establish singularity.
We all have domains but aren’t conscious of it.
Without a domain, our particles would separate and be mashed up by the weight of the universe.
Hosea gave me knowledge about it and I practiced harnessing it.
By stretching out my domain, I could feel my surroundings.
I could literally feel my surroundings as if I’ve become liquid then expanded… it’s an unsettling feeling but it is pretty helpful.
My domain covered about 50 to 100 meters around me which is really convenient.
Hosea uses her domain constantly which is utterly impossible for me right now.
So far, nothing entered my domain but as I moved forward, I noticed something…
There was a pleasant smell in the atmosphere… as if it was calling me to its source…
I followed the smell and what I saw made my jaw drop
“E-E-Ember…? What are y-you doing here…? UGH!” [Lan]
This again!
Right after I reunited with someone after a long time!
I could feel my pupils stretch out from my left eye where the avatar’s seed was planted.
When the feeling subsided, Ember was nowhere to be found
“Em…ber? EMBER! EMBER!!! SIS WHERE ARE Y- oof…!”
Because of my confusion and bewilderment, I let my guard down.

A humanoid creature with amazing speed tackled my stomach…
Wait no, it’s more of a lariat…
The creature pushed me a few feet away from where I was standing.
I don’t know why but I feel like I shouldn’t resist…
I sense no hostility
“IDIOT!”
“Eh?” [Lan]
…
I-It spoke!
ROOAAAAR!!!
HISS!!!
EH …
The smell from earlier came from… those plants…?
From the place I stood earlier, there were plants with pinkish shades that… well… turned into a monster.
The monster had a mouth as huge as a cave and teeth that were jagged like a sharks’.
When I look below, I noticed that what saved me was a child.
…
A child!?
Why is there a child here inside the underworld!?
Haaaaa~
Anyway, we retreated about a hundred meters further away from the plant monster then she threw me to a tree-
“You idiot! Anyone knows better than to approach a Succubus Orchid!”
“… a what?” [Lan]
“I’ve never heard of anyone breaking out from its’ trace like you did but even an idiot wouldn’t just stand there and begin shouting!” [Enrica]
“Oh… sor- thanks…?” [Lan]
“Ha~ coming here alone. Idi-“
“Thank you little girl, you really saved me back there but why are you out here all alone? Are your parents around?” [Lan]
“What did you just call me?”
Hmm? Did I say something weird?
Veins started popping out of this little girl’s face as she also turns beet red
“Huh?” [Lan]
“I just saved your life but now I’m gonna have to take it back and kill you!”
“W-wait!” [Lan]
This little lady, why’s she so angry…
Hmmm?!
She’s carrying a weapon that’s bigger than she is!
“Enrica!” [Shen]
“Huh? Ah, Shen” [Enrica]
Eh…?
EEEEHHHHHH?!?!
Why are there kids here!?
Isn’t this place dangerous!?
I mean, this kid was fast when she saved me but still…
“… the look on your face says that you’re thinking of something very rude” [Enrica]
Ah…
Five little kids with weapons that are bigger than them…
Just who are they…?

Kragathor is the final guardian of the world’s deepest dungeon. He is an immortal pinnacle of existence that is otherwise known as an ancient dragon. And he is terribly bored. His sole source of amusement comes from scrying on the adventurer teams that are in the upper levels of his dungeon. Through spying on adventurers, Kragathor hears of a new magic item, called a Virmo, that allows one to project their mind into a fictional world in some sort of grand-scale game. Recognizing these Virmo games as a potential diversion for his endless boredom, he orders a minion to infiltrate the nearby town and acquire some of these games. Once the minion returns, he logs into a game set in a world that runs on the twin magics of ‘science’ and ‘technology’, and embarks on his new journey as Bob, the Level 1 Human with no class. I 'totally' won't abuse this~" [Author here, Just a forewarning that I'm writing this synopsis and the story without a solid outline/plot/whatever-you-want-to-call-it. The dialogue, here in the synopsis, probably won't ever be directly spoken in the story; though, it might. I only just finished writing the first chapter, so, we'll see.]

my first story ^U^
author note: yaaa hurray it’s my first story ^U^ i hope you all like it! all characters belong to my special friends who submitted them!!ok heres the first chapter enjoy ^U^ TL note: Some of you may be wondering why I am translating a story written originally in English, to English. I remember reading this story many years ago, as a teen, and had since dismissed it as a bizarre fever dream. Only recently, through much Googling, did I manage to rediscover it, and as such decided to not only read it again, but fix the author’s many typing issues and share the context of what I remember from its original happening. I believe the story underneath to hold deeper meanings than its strange happenings, but at minimum I hope you will appreciate it for the sheer weirdness of it all. For the best experience, skim it for your first reading and, if you are interested, read more deeply the second time. Some typing is left as-is to preserve what I believe to be authorial intent, or at least necessary effect. If you notice any typing issues I managed to miss, please email them to me at [email protected]

An earthman boy, William, was extremely interested in space travels. He got two techniques from his father, Mighty, who was a world-famous physicist studying faster-than-light space travels and his mother, Sally, who was a biology professor at Columbia University. However, he was sometimes not so confident. This meant that he would rather not believe that he was actually very powerful. Due to this, Mighty and Sally decided to boost his confidence. He set out and began his space travel, yet he came to another universe, which was surely unexpected! He had partners, including a female clone man, Ranran, whose prototype was William's physics teacher and head teacher; a fighter plane, Photon, who looked like a fighter plane in WWII; a racing car, Natalie Hurricane, who had crazy performances. The party used an energy core to travel through a black hole and a five-dimensional space when they reached that universe, but unfortunately the energy core lost all the energy. So they had to go to all checkpoints on three planets to collect all energy, because only in this way could they go back to their universe. Yet what would they encounter while they travel in this universe? Would they be able to go home?

The Shattered Circle
Aleyr Frostborn has survived a hundred prophecies of her defeat, breaking each one by slaying the champions of light sent to kill her. Amongst the forces of good, her very name is a curse, and with good reason. Beyond her own evil, it is said that so long as she lives, the reign of the Godslayer himself will last: the lich king who the terrified masses call the King in Black. While the kingdoms and empires that surround the blighted lands of the undead lands struggle to survive and beat back the tide of evil, the machinations of the Eternal Kingdom's dark court barely contain the bitter struggles for power between the forces that have made it what it is. With one foretold hero brutally snuffed out, another will inevitably arise. For Aleyr, the cycle only further embitters her towards the gods of good and all those who serve them. But the truth is that her downfall might be something much closer to home than their prophecies, those last dregs of mortality beating inside her own chest. With a thoughtless intersection between cruelty and mercy, she begins a chain of events that threatens to tear the Eternal Kingdom and her own loyalties into shreds. After all, many things can be broken, not just prophecies.
