《Beast Cultivating System》Chapter 78 - The Sect Gathering Begins

A festive air filled the Heavenly Noble Sect’s bright City, citizens and cultivators everywhere were in a bustling mood, excited chatter about the upcoming Sect Gathering filled the City.
“Take your bets here! Zhang Ye from the Flamehorn Sect is a must bet, just by putting forward one monster core you will receive twenty if he is crowned champion!” An enthusiastic portly man announced.
“That sounds like a good deal…” A person in the crowd murmured.
“Yeah! Zhang Ye is the second favourite to win the Sect Gathering this year, so for that, those odds are really good!” Someone agreed in the crowd.
A fervent chattering filled the crowd before they exploded out in discussions.
“I’m putting forward 10 monster cores!” A man shouted.
“Me too!” Someone said.
The crowd began throwing their bets at the man.
The enthusiastic portly man seemed happy at the sight of the crowd wavering at the two men's argument, throwing their bets at him.
Excited at receiving the prospect of a windfall of bets, he grinned evilly thinking, ‘What a bunch of fools! Zhang Ye is the second favourite but his competition is Chao Sung, do you think the young sect master will lose on his own home turf?’
But he didn’t show his true thoughts at all as he took the monster cores of the crowd, “Goodman, smart guys you are, I’m sure you will all become rich men by the end of the tournament!”
However, before the man could continue to collect bets, he noticed the hushed murmurs of the crowd as all of a sudden they were disturbed by something.
Noticing everyone's attention was taken by something he turned around locating the source of the discussion was three of the most beautiful woman he had seen.
Especially the one at the centre, he had not seen such a good quality woman before!
Licking his licks with a hint of lust in his eyes he said, “Whom do I have the pleasure to be speaking with?”
A hint of disdain filled the woman’s gaze as he noticed his lecherous stares but she still replied, “Dana… I believe I should be one of the participants? May I know the odds for myself to be crowned champion?”
The enthusiastic portly man fell into a daze upon hearing the beautiful woman’s ethereal voice but upon comprehending what the woman said he realised who she was, oh damn she is the young sect masters woman!
Dana reputation had grown in the continent for the past few months, many hearing about the beauty from the Elemental Sect, although she had spent the last few months low profile and not many had seen her this only made her reputation soar even crazier.
Nonetheless, her reputation as a great talent and beauty did not cause those to envy or worship her but too instead merely pity and take pleasure at her misfortune because they know she would have no good ending becoming Chao Sung’s woman.

No woman involved with him has had a good fate, he has destroyed countless beautiful geniuses over the years, even just regular talented female cultivators have not escaped his eyes never mind the extraordinary ones.
It would seem that Chao Sung was dead set on destroying any talented female cultivator of note in the entire Heavenly Noble Sect’s region of influence, it made him both feared and despised but no one would dare to do anything against him.
A light cough sounded making the portly man realised he had been standing there with a dazed look for a while, realising what she said he couldn’t help but laugh heartily.
“I did not even bother to make such odds of a bet since who would be foolish enough to bet on you… but since you’re gracing us with your presence let’s just say I can’t cheat you so if you get 20 back per 1 monster core for Zhang Ye, I guess 500 for you? Maybe I undervalued that a little…” The enthusiastic portly man chucked in amusement giving Dana no face at all.
However, just as he was about to murmur another insult he felt intense killing intent from the two girls next to Dana causing him to let out a cold sweat as he felt he was one word away from death.
“No that’s fine… here is my bet, put it all on myself,” she said throwing down a large sack filled to the brim full of monster cores.
Looking at all the numerous tiers of monster cores, seeing the largest amount of monster cores he had seen in his life the enthusiastic portly man let out a cold sweat realising how much wealth the other party was thrown at him.
“This is a bit too much… maybe you could…” The portly said nervously worried Dana would come for revenge when she inevitably lost the bet.
He knew she was going to be the young master's woman after all so it was better to be safe, the two young women next to her as well seemed to scare him greatly and when he went to check their cultivation it seemed so deep he realised they were way stronger than him.
Though for some reason he felt Dana herself was the most dangerous one, the strange glint in her eyes as she stared at him feel like he was prey being stared down by a predator.
“It’s fine…” Dane smiled before leaving but just before she left the scene allowing the portly man to finally relax she said, “Make sure to get my winnings ready for me… if I don’t receive the proper compensation, then I guess I will send Lavendia here to give you a friendly visit”
The portly man continued to be anxious for a while before realising she finally left he slumped down.
A man in the crowd witnessing that the drama finally ended said, “Sir may I place my bet now? I want to place some monster cores on the ‘well-endowed’ chick by Dana…”

Another man staring at the other angrily said, “Hey are you betting against my goddess? No way Maia is going to lose to that big-breasted buffoon!”
“Hmph, you’re just jealous that your idol’s chest is flatter than that fat man’s bald head!” Defended a righteous young man.
“Why you little…” A man screamed before jumping on the young man before you know it a massive brawl broke out within the crowd.
The portly man wiped the sweat off his bald head tiredly wondering why he was involved in this mess.
Thinking back to Dana and the two beautiful girls who caused this mess a sudden nervousness filled him, ‘Ah I hope young master can tame this girl, I got a bad feeling he may have bitten off more than he can chew!’
Meanwhile, Dana was currently walking to the sight of the Sect Gathering with Lavendia and Maia who followed behind her bickering.
“I’m going to show you once and for all that my bloodline is superior in this tournament! Then this matter about Dryads even being able to compete with a mighty Griffin will be ludicrous!” Maia said angrily
“Oh wow! I’m so scared, look you can even see me shaking!” The Dryad mockingly said.
Maia was incensed even before as she said, “You will see! Do you even dare to bet that the loser will be forced to kneel and kowtow the other party worshipping their superiority!”
“Sure as long you offer some of the good stuff as well…” Lavendia said staring at Maia’s beautiful face lustfully.
Blushing at the brazen display of lust, Maia decided to distract herself by involving Dana in the conversation and said, “Mistress, are you confident in defeating the ‘Heavenly Noble Sect’ here if things turned troublesome…?”
“Of course so… I don’t expect them to play fair at all, it’s why I don’t plan to either.” She said before walking off at a pace faster than the pair.
Realising their master sped up the two looked at each other before running after her making sure to keep up with her.
Soon enough they reached a man who stood before some desk and other numerous cultivators who were lounging around the area in big groups, all wearing luxurious robes of different colours with symbols of numerous sects.
Looking around they saw the familiar members of their sect, the figure of Yueqin Wen amongst them whose eyes lit up upon seeing them.
“Ah Dana you’re here,” she said as they approached them, “I was worried you’d be late, the lot has been drawn, your opponent is Dong Dong from the Boulder Sect.”
“Unlucky! He’s actually one of the stronger disciples here, and within the top 3 disciples in the Boulder Sect, to start with such a tough match it could only be said to be unfortunate!” A disciple murmured, others agreeing with him.
Other disciples among them who had actually seen Dana’s strength in person thought it wasn’t actually Dana who was unlucky but Dong Dong!
For a person with such ambitions to be knocked out in the first round… Ah!
A look of pity filled the gazes of the elemental sect disciples which in the eyes of other disciples were saddened at the prospect of Dana fighting Dong Dong.
“Haha, to see such an arrogant beauty knocked out in one go, what a funny sight that would be!” Someone said.
“Dong Dong make sure not to injure the face, such beauty shouldn’t be injured otherwise Chao Sung will surely be upset….” A man laughed.
Dana’s gaze darkened hearing the repeated mentions of Chao Sung, her fist clenched in anger.
Lavendia and Maia knowing their master's temperament suddenly felt sorry for the unfortunate Dong Dong who was going to face their master's wrath!
A moment later the man at the desk shouted, “Boulder Sect’s Dong Dong vs Elemental Sect’s Dana! Can both make their way to the fighting stage!”
Calmly making her way to the fighting stands, stood opposite her was a giant of man over 6ft 3 tall, towering over her his muscular chest was laid bare as he looked at her with a scrutinised gaze.
“I promise not to crush you little girl, but I may have to break a few of your bones to teach you obedience for your master…” Dong Dong said.
“Oh? I was about to say the same thing to you…” Dana smirked looking at him with a bloodthirsty grin.
Dong Dong suddenly felt a bad trepidation but shook it off thinking it was foolish for him to be afraid of some tiny girl with lower cultivation than him.
However before he could fully shake off the bad feeling the judge of the match shouted, “Start!”
Dong Dong was about to march forward at Dana but before he could even move Dana had already approached him within moments.
“What the fu…” Dong Dong was about to murmur before he got hit with a crushing punch sending him flying like a doll as he crashed on the floor heavily in a trampled mess.
The Judge just stood at the heavily injured, knocked out Dong Dong in shock as he snapped out of his daze realising the match had been won.
“Winner! Dana of the Elemental Sect!” He shouted to the flabbergasted looks in the crowd looking at the pitiful Dong Dong.
They suddenly turned to look at the Elemental Sect Disciples who didn’t look surprised at all, instead of looking at them with a gaze which said, ‘I told you so!’

The Dog with a Chair
As of now, this story is dropped. It was an excellent learning experience, but the quality suffered too much from me trying new things for me to continue in good concience. Thanks to anyone that read it. I'm leaving this story up as a record of my first ever attempt at publishing something I've wrote. To any new writers out there, remember that even if the stuff you write is trash, you can still learn a lot from writing it. - November 17th 2020 Guy gets involved in advocacy for civil engineering projects, then gets pulled into an interdimensional war. Third person with a focus on one main character (Stanley) with the occasional point of view from another character important to story progression. Writing style tends to shift early on as I figure out how to write (this is my first book). Still learning, hoping to improve. Current style choice is to have a focus on character dialogue/actions with interspersed internal monologue in italics. No current end is set for the story, with the primary goal of this project being to learn to express myself in a written format. Storyline is kept as consistent as practical while covering things I find interesting. Governmental systems are mentioned, but not explained in extreme detail. Sci fi elements are used to reinforce and guide plot progression as I'm able. Personal goals belonging to each character are in the process of being developed, with the hope that they will support or oppose each other in interesting ways later on. Hope you enjoy :)
