Chapter 60.5- The Road Not Walked (Timeline A)

When I tied Wyn up, I thought everything was over. I thought that I had survived a dangerous encounter with a traveler. I was naive to have such thoughts. Of course, the gods doesn't let me off that easily. They hate me too much.

I hear something burning. Sensing danger, I immediately I sat up and looked at Wyn. The makeshift ropes that tied up Wyn were on fire. For a moment, Wyn seemed like a green birthday cake. Before long it snapped, freeing Wyn. She stood up, and she looks angry.

“Um, Hi Wyn. I know you are angry and all but…”

“ENOUGH!!”

She refused to listen any longer and silenced me with a horrific howl. As soon she finished yelling, a red pulse radiated from her, then another, and another. The red pulse covered the entire arena. I felt nothing when the first wave collided with me. But when another wave hits me, the surrounding became slightly warmer. With each wave, it grew increasingly hot. By the time the fifth wave hit me, it had gotten so hot I couldn’t breathe. I try to run towards a hatch to take shelter from the heat, but it was too late. My skin starts to sear, and I knelt down, not being able to take another step. I was expecting it to hurt, but it didn’t. My nerves were completely burnt away. Everything blacked out.

I stood n the familiar white void in silence, trying to gather my thoughts.

Finally, I couldn’t hold it in any longer. I burst out my anger with all my might.

I didn’t expect anyone to be in the void since I didn’t see anyone the last two times I died. He appeared out of thin air. He looked like a faceless mannequin: no eyes, ears, nose, mouth or hair. It was just a complete blank head, covered with perfect milky white skin. It was so perfect that it looked like it was made out of plastic. I assumed it was a “he.” I couldn’t tell. He spoke with an androgynous voice, and his white toga didn’t give any clues either.

“WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU?”

I snapped at the weird mannequin looking guy. I would have been a lot more courteous to him, but I was too angry to think straight.

Standing before me was a fire elemental. Unlike the regular fire elementals, it was completely black and devoid of light. The outer edge of the flame looks like it was censored by mosaic. Sometimes, bits and pieces of computer codes appear through the crack of space.

After studying the rules and codes for centuries, I found a little loophole of this world. Using this loophole, I created my weapon against the creators. I did a little twirl in celebration. I pulled up its stat page to confirm everything.

The corrupted being that I planned for years finally come to fruition. It wasn’t perfect, yet, of course. It had the power to devour data, but It lacked my ability to alter the world. I know exactly how to grant it that. But before I give it that power and make it perfect, there was a small thing I had to do.

I embraced my final creation. Planting my arm solidly around the fire elemental, I can feel my data being stripped away, bit by bit, slowly assimilated into the corrupted being. I am no longer a toy of the creators. After all these years, I am happy. After all these years, I can die...freed.
