《Evolutionist》Chap. 07:

That sucks, there's a week that I've hunted daily to raise my level. But it's been a week and today I've reached level 10. And you know what's worse?
The amount of Soul energy that each level holds for me is only 10. That is, every ten levels the amount of Soul energy that I have, increases by 100.
I still do not have Soul energy enough to get the next evolution for my pets. But I can get C1. And that's what I'm going to do right now. After two brand new zombies, I go to my base.
I am living in a 5 star hotel, which has not been completely destroyed. I am living in the presidential suite of Hotel Fleur d'automne, it is a very chic hotel. The room I am in has a king size bed, the bathroom has a whirlpool, and the view of the avenue is a great place to watch the surroundings.
When the evolution to C1 was completed, I was able to observe the change. This is what has changed the most. He got lower, he reaches only the height of my waist at the maximum, has a head disproportionate to the body, the skin tone is a dark gray almost black, and yellow eyes.
When I took a look at the information about my new pet, it is one of the brand's abilities, it allows me to see certain information about my pets.
I had a great surprise.
Zombie-C1 2° Tier
Zombie Commander is a special type of zombie that has the ability and intelligence to organize and command other zombies.
The Zumbi-C1 is totally defenseless in combat, needing to be defended by others. Due to this fact the C1 generally maintains B1 and B2 near to serve of defense and transport.
With the C1 on my control all the zombies in the city will be my dolls to manipulate as I want. This is wonderful.
Who would have thought that I would have such a surprise.
One interesting thing about the brand is that it gives me information about my pets.
For example, the Zombie-C1 has the ability to control up to ten thousand zombies, and the ability to control zombies is restricted only zombies without conscience, that is, zombies capable of reasoning are able to avoid the control of C1.
The zombie-M1 is able to cast only three spells, Dark Ball, Paralysis and Weakness. Dark Ball is a projectile-type spell, which is a sphere of dark element that explodes on impact. Paralysis is a spell that can paralyze the target. And weakness reduces all target physical status by 15%. An important detail about the M1 is that it has a high magical damage, but the time it takes to cast spells is high, and the cooldowm is also high. And as incredible as it may sound M1 is the one that carries the most advanced virus. For example, the level of infection of B1 and C1 is of 2nd Layer, that of V1 is of 3rd layer, but M1 is of the 5th layer.

The Zumbi-V1 has no skills, but has extremely sharp claws on the fingers.
Zumbi-B1 has no skills, only brute strength and resistance to damage.
The Mage Skeleton has the following spells: Fireball, Lightning, Dark Ball, Poison Dart. The Mage Skeleton has magical damage less than M1, but the time and Cooldowm between techniques are less. For example, the only spell they have in common is Dark Ball.
Dark Ball Zombie-M1 Skeleton mage damage 350 200 invocation time 5s 1s Cooldown 30s 20s
The difference between them is visible.
The Warrior Skeleton and the Skeleton Archer do not possess skills, but they have some mastery in their respective areas. The Warrior knows the basics about using sword and shield. And the Archer has knowledge of how to handle a bow correctly.
Now my personal army is like this.
2 Zombie-B1 (Lvl 10)
2 Zombie-V1 (Lvl 10)
1 Zombie-C1 (Lvl 15)
1 Zombie-M1 (20)
2 Skeleton Warrior (Lvl 9)
2 Skeleton Mage (12 Lvl)
2 Skeleton Archer (Lvl 8)
Something interesting about evolution is that when I force an evolution it is not just the class that changes, but the level and status of the forced evolution also change. For example, a requirement for a zombie evolve to B1 is to Lvl 10 and the strength attribute above 15. So when I evolve a zombie Lvl 1 to B1, the zombie Lvl rose to Lvl 10, and the status of zombie are altered to what a B1 of natural evolution possesses. That is, forced evolution has no negative side.
After evolving normal Zombie to C1, I prepared dinner and went to sleep. It's strange to go to sleep, because I'm never sleepy, but whenever I want to sleep I can easily. It's kind of weird, but it's very useful.
The next morning, I was awakened by a message from one of the V1, who warned me about a human group that entered the city and started hunting zombies.
After planning my course of action I ordered the C1 to use the zombies that were on his command, and have them round the group unnoticed to prevent any attempt to escape. And also to send from time to time some groups of Zombies to tire them.
When I shared the view with V1 I was able to see the group. There are 8 members, 3 tanks, 2 healers, 2 magicians and 1 archer. Of course it is a deduction based on the equipment they are using. Which by the way seem to be great equipment.

The ones I think are tanks are equipped with full armor, two use sword and shield and the other has only one large sword. Healers are wearing a robe, a staff, and a cross hanging from their necks. The magicians also wear robes and staff, only one wears a green robe and the other uses a red. The Archer is equipped with black leather armor, and a bow.
The group moves with good coordination, must have some experience in group combat, they move in formation: Two warriors up front, the mages, then the archer, and the healers and behind the third warrior protecting the rear.
I kept the tactic of sending small waves of zombies for four hours in a row, while positioning my minions in strategic locations.
I positioned the M1 and the skeletons Magicians and Archers in the buildings on the right and left of where the group will pass in a few moments. And I have made the Skeleton Warriors and the B1s hide in alleys that give access to the street where the ambush will be carried out.
After a few minutes of waiting the group approached the point of ambush.
When the group was in a position to be ambushed, but nice guys offering to be used in order to practice.
Good leaving the bad jokes aside. It's time to attack.
At my command, each B1 threw a garbage dump into the group.
The attack catches them by surprise. The warriors can turn aside in time, but the magicians, healers and archer are knocked over by the buckets.
The zombies and skeletons launched the spells, taking the group of surprise once again. Explosions separate the two warriors from the front of the rest of the group. And the Archer died when hit squarely by a fireball.
One of the B1 plus Warrior Skeletons attacked the two Front Tanks and the other B1 attacked the rear warrior with the support of the Skeletons Archers.
The chaos only lasted a few moments, until the human group recovered and began the counterattack.
The two front tanks were starting to gain advantage over my pets, and the rear warriors were in a tie with the B1 because of the support of the Archers Skeletons, the human wizards and healers began to sing spells to launch their respective spells when they were surprised by the two V1 who attacked from one of the side alleys.
Each V1 managed to eliminate one healer each, and then attacked the wizards, who were defenseless, and were easily eliminated by V1.
The warrior in the rear was hit by a spell from Skeleton Mage, Lightning, which made him lose his balance and lower his guard, allowing time enough for the B1 to hit a kick on the warrior's knee, the kick broke the human's knee making it an easy target for the B1 to eliminate.
As soon as the B1 eliminated his opponent, he went to help the other B1 attack the two front tanks, it's a shame that the Warrior Skeletons have already been eliminated.
It was not long before the two remaining humans were eliminated.
As the fight was over, I got up from the couch that was sitting while controlling my pets, and went to the battle site to get my war spoils.
As soon as I got there, I started taking all the equipment out of humans and absorbed them.
Winning on each:
Mage of Red: +30 Intelligence and Magic Fireball
Mage with robe green: I did not win anything
Of the two healers: +20 wisdom and +10 in affinity with light
And of the three warriors: +50 Strength, +10 Vitality and Mastery with Sword, Powerful Strike.
Archer: +10 Perception and Arquearia.
In addition to: 10 gold, 70 Silver and 25 bronze coins. Three sets of heavy armor, one of leather armor, wizard and healer equipment.
And my level increased by three. After that all my status was like this.

The Paths of Magick
Credits: Story by Xcaliburnt. Cover Art by @Bervolart. Magick, the power to bend the laws of reality. All because of a mystical substance known as mana. Mages follow the Paths to achieve power, for there is no more addictive chase. Each Path winds and twists, forcing mages through the flames of adversity and challenge. Though the operative word is "path", the reality is far less straightforward. Instead of a road, Paths are like the branches of world trees, erupting into the heavens, intertwining, and ending in sharp snaps. Only the strongest reach the sky. There are several Paths, and many Ways to walk them—variations of the same Path, and like the stars, they are endless. Magick is the sacred flame that scours the fat, rendering the truest self. Superfluous flesh melting away to show the skeleton of one's being. A chance for ascension—apotheosis. Though not every mage works to godhood, if they survive long enough, It is inescapable. Witness the lives of those that tread the knife's edge of self-destruction. Each one intertwined in their search for answers, revenge, and, most of all: power. These individuals have all lost something precious—irreplaceable—and In search of filling the void left behind, they have taken up the mantle of a mage. Per aspera ad astra. Ad mortem vel divinitatis. (Through adversity to the stars. To death or divinity.) There is no consistent release schedule except my consistent inconsistency. Besides, there’s like a thousand pages worth of content, how can—you already read it? Goddamn. Oh, and there is a very long hiatus between volumes as I intend to edit and rewrite a lot. What to Expect: This story is progression fantasy, so expect a healthy dose of training. It's also heavy on slice of life, and it isn't entirely overarching-plot-driven. Expect characters to live their lives, and not always be on some quest to save the world. There's a lot of magic theory and discussion about it in the story. So, if you don't like impromptu lessons on sorcerous theory by traveling monster slayers, this might not be for you. But if you do like it, rejoice! For there is a lot of it. This is also heavy on prose, purple as a bruised eye. I use outdated, uneccesarily collegiate-level terms and play around with the writing style just for the heck of it. I find it fun to wax and wane poetic, and that might grate on you—I don’t plan to change this aspect of the Paths much if at all. Onto the viewer discretion is advised parts: This is grim-dark/ grim-heart. Take the tags seriously. There will be combat scenes that are brutal and horrifying. Fights to the death tend to be. This is a tale about medieval mercenaries (quite literal killers for hire), man-eating monsters, and eldritch gods beyond the material plane. Beside that, there will be traumatic events that are best left unread. I do not detail certain acts I find heinous enough, instead leaving some parts unwritten but still alludded to if not outright stated; there is simply no graphic narration thereof. This is not for the faint of heart.
