Chapter 4 - Tutorial End
Under create, I got the options to build corridors, rooms, and pitfall traps. They cost 3, 5 and 4 DP respectively. They are surprisingly cheap compared to monsters, but then again building a room is a lot easier than making life and I think it holds true for this world too.
"Now then how do I do this?"
I had already made a plan on how to kill the adventurers, but that would only cost 20-30 DP, which left me a lot left over.
Putting my idea on the safe side, I decide to invest the full 35 DP to maximise its effect. Which left me with 85 DP to use.
As I began creating my tutorial dungeon, the adventurers were moved about 300m away and walls surrounded the core, indicating the start of me creating the dungeon.
"This should work."
(Switching to 3rd Person Pov)
The 3 adventurers stared at the door, and without hesitation entered the dungeon. What greeted them was an immediate sneak attack by 2 goblins. The swordsmen immediately raised his sword, slashing at the goblin who reached him first, leaving a deep gash in its chest and pushing it back. The other goblin fared no better as its face was hit by a fireball, writhing on the ground before burning to death.
The trio continued on unfazed by the attack. Turning a right, this time a golem met them as the warrior readied his sword, slimes fell from the ceiling and covered all 3 adventurers heads. As the trio was struggling to get the slimes off their heads, the golem slowly prepared its attack. However, a bright light lit up the dim corridor, the golem was pushed back and the slimes melted off the adventurer's heads, while they remain unharmed. The cleric's wooden cross shattered and broke, becoming useless pieces of scrap wood. They made short work of the golem, whose slow speed could not at all keep up with the warrior. The cleric healed some minor bruises on the warrior and the trio continued on.

This time they entered a room, but it only contains 2 kobolds. They were quickly dealt with by the warrior and mage without any injury.
In the next room, 2 skeletons stood in the middle and when the trio fully entered from the side, 2 more ran out from the corners of the room, quickly getting attacking the mage and cleric while the first 2 fought the warrior. Swiftly trading blows, the skeletons could only barely keep up with the warrior, and were barely able to keep him at bay, the warrior wanted to rescue his teammates, but could not leave it as it would attack his backline, similarly the skeletons could not leave the warrior for fear that he would target the skeletons behind.
The mage and cleric were barely holding on, the cleric had used its only means of attack on the slimes earlier and the mage could not cast whilst fighting in close-quarters. The warrior noticing this, tightly gripped his sword, before a red glow took over the sword. Rushing towards the 2 skeletons his sword was actually able to slice through the bones easily, the skeletons who were cut apart at the spine and fell apart but did not die. This move clearly tired the warrior out. Perspiration flowed from where his face should be, and he was clearly slower. Turning back he hurried towards his backline. Jumping between the last two skeletons and his backline, the mage got enough time to cast a spell. His book floated in front of him, its pages fluttering as 2 balls of blue energy gathered around the mage and was fired towards the skeletons. the first skeleton dodged and the bullet and it only hit its shoulder but it removed its left arm completely, the next accurately hit the other skeleton's head as it was engaged the warrior at the moment and did not notice, the balls of energy flew back and destroyed the skeletons behind, who were crippled by the warrior earlier. Before boomeranging and destroying the last remaining skeleton.

Deciding to rest in that room, they sat down as the cleric healed the damage and dizzily stood back up, walking like a drunk man and almost fell. After a while, he seemed to recover a bit but walked with a hand on his forehead, as if he had a headache.
Leaving the room they found themselves in another corridor, but this time they could see the dungeon core at the end, hurriedly they rushed through the corridor, not noticing the room by the side of the corridor they rushed towards the core. The floor in front suddenly collapsed and the warrior fell through. The mage hurriedly raised his staff and his book floated in from of him, but it was too late, as suddenly 2 slimes fell down and engulfed both the mage's and cleric's head. Dropping his staff the mage tried to pull the slime off, but as a magic-oriented class, his hands could not affect the slime who had physical resistance. From the room they passed earlier, came 2 goblins and a golem. The goblins pushed the remaining two into the pitfall and the golem simply fell into the pit. A loud splat was heard and the dungeon run ended.

I look satisfied with the results, the strategy was rather simple actually. Exhaust the enemy then kill them in a decisive blow. I purposely set the trap in front of the dungeon core so the trio would loosen their guard, as some famous person in my last world once said:
Actually, I can't remember the quote or the person who said it. Strange I suppose its another effect of Soul Collapse State I was in, or maybe just general forgetfulness. Anyways the main idea is that people would loosen up their guard when the end was in sight since they would think the journey is almost over and rush their way towards the end.
Sure there was a chance that they would act like robots and emotionlessly complete the dungeon, but it was pretty low. I mean the guy who made this tutorial created the entire world and filled it with all sorts of creatures and is responsible for creating the 2 strongest gods alive right now, it shouldn't be hard for him to make a simulation act human-like.
Blue Boxes appears showing my rewards.

Edge Cases (Book 1 Complete!)
Rare classes and powerful skills are helpful. Too bad the system doesn't seem built to handle them. What even are all these errors? Our team of outcasts and adventurers will have to rely on their trust - and the bane of all stories, healthy communication - just to survive, let alone understand what the system is doing. Because they're quickly realizing that it's doing something; to people, to monsters, and maybe even to the gods themselves. And their goal isn't just to survive; it's to make things better. It's a good thing they're not doing it alone. --- Edge Cases is an attempt to take the LitRPG genre and the overpowered MCs trope and write a story where numbers aren't everything. Sometimes it takes trust, support, and just a touch of being very, very clever. Expect a mix of action, slice-of-life, friendship, and ominous worldbuilding. Updates M-W-F at 6pm EST.
