chapter 63: Six King Beast Hills
A day had passed since Mern’s army's retreat and at that time Scitus was preparing his army to move out to hunt for food. They would no longer hunt deer and smaller animals, otherwise, those creatures would go extinct in a matter of months. they would have to hunt bigger game if they wanted to sustain their population which had suddenly exploded a few weeks prior. The only reason they hadn't starved was because Scitus used two points of his god energy to regrow all fruits and edible plants in his territory. God energy was incredibly precious and could be used to form entire kingdoms in a single night. It was so precious that a perfect revival could be done thrice in a single instant using only one point of god energy.
God energy could not only be obtained by the territory in which the god lived but also from his citizens. Every drop of mana a god took from his citizens would condense and further condense until it would eventually become pure god energy which could then be used to perform miracles beyond anyone’s dreams. God energy was why gods were so revered and feared.
Shortly before his departure, he was with Sia as she explained the basics of [ranks] in that world.
“There exists nine rankings that all living things can obtain which are separated, into three groups known as, first order, second order and third order. The first order is comprised of [civilian], [soldier], [Knight]. The second order is comprised of [Warbeast], [High Monster], [Champion]. The third order is compromised of [Celestial], [hero], and finally at the pinnacle of power is [Dragon]. There are orders beyond these but those are in the realm of gods and true gods and I have little understanding of them. each rank is further divided into lesser, middling, and greater which determine more of a person’s individual expertise within their own rank rather than a natural ability.” Sia spoke seriously as she explained the complexities of power in the name of a rank. “rank does not determine power, it determines how powerful someone can become. However, even a person ranked as [civilian] can become a [hero] or even a [dragon] rank but the odds are small. For instance, I was born as a [lesser celestial] but even after so many years I am still nowhere near reaching the [middling celestial] rank."
“though it's difficult to properly explain in such a small amount of time, a [greater celestial] can be killed by even a [lesser civilian] if the [Greater Celestial] never trained their body: you who are from another world are considered weak because you never trained, though since you are a god you can ravage entire cities with a single spell.' Sia explained some more preliminary information before continuing onto the most important aspect of power.

“a person's power can be directly attributed to their mana. There are three known states that mana can be used as, Solid mana, semi-solid mana, and free mana. I won't go into all the details here but to help you understand I'll give you a common saying I heard as a child. Solid mana for the warriors, semi-solid mana for the assassins, and free mana for the magicians. ”
"your weakest citizens are [greater civilian] monsters; which is actually rather impressive for goblins and kobolds but this is the oasis so their higher than normal strength is understandable. The people that have been under your sphere of influence the longest are at this point [middling knights]. This rank is unprecedented for goblins, these goblins can easily dispatch ordinary soldiers from ordinary kingdoms, unfortunately for you, there are no ordinary kingdoms around the oasis. The weakest nation is probably the kingdom of Mern and even he can easily destroy almost any one nation outside the Feren territory.”
With some final words of advice, Sia and Scitus entered the vast wilderness with a small army of three soldiers which were comprised of the elites of his kingdom. The army was comprised of all the army cores, the spartan knights, the assassin knights, the moon knights, the star knights, the shield knights and the recently formed Ash knights, which was comprised of only two knights knight. The leader was the girl that had traveled through the oasis to find Scitus and was Robins former partner, her name was "Arcana" because of her intense interest in magic. the other knight in her core was named "Merlin" he was a kobold who had also taken an interest in magic though had only learned a few things since he had only recently joined the nation.
At the front of the expedition was Scitus who brandished a sword at his side, its name was Gavnok and it was gifted to him by the Duergar. Nearly half the Duergar had temporarily moved into The Guardia to help with a project that Scitus was working on.
Sia was the guide, she had lived in the oasis for a little over six years and had explored many places. The forbidden territory, although seemingly safe, held immense danger and so Sia had decided to enter deeper into the minotaur territory. "the minotaur is on the larger side of all the territories" Sia began to explain the minotaur territory's dangers and landmarks for the army to hear. Eventually, all the minotaur territory would fall to Scitus and so knowledge of it held great importance. “ there are eight major landmarks here in the minotaur territory. There is the Minotaur mountain to the far north, the desert river near The Guardia, the corrupted wolf valley to the east near the edges of the minotaur territory, the organ cliff to the south, the Ancient Tower Of Feren near the center of the minotaur territory, the eternal storm that borders the minotaur territory and the Yokai territory, the dead zone that borders the godless territory and the minotaur territory and lastly, the place we are going too, Warbeast valley. ”

Warbeast Valley was between six large hills these large hills form a natural barrier from the outside world. Although the location is called Warbeast Valley, it is, in reality, a series of valleys that are between several smaller hills which are within the circular formation of the six large hills which are collectively known as the Six King Beast Hills. At the top of each hill rests six powerful monsters each one with a [high monster] rank. These beasts are the Spider Queen, the Wyvern queen, the Slime king, the Wolf King, The Fowl King, and lastly, there was the Deer Queen.
Of these places, they would be hunting in the wyvern valley territory. The biggest reasons for traveling to wyvern valley was because the wyverns at that time were incredibly weak after their war with the godless. From what Sia had heard, even the Wyvern Queen had been injured in the war.
The wyvern queen was a high monster, but her kinsman were ordinary wyverns and therefore only [warbeast] rank creatures.
As soon as the small army entered Wyvern valley, a putrid smell entered their nostrils, it was horrible but they knew the stench very well, “corruption” one outstanding kobold soldier muttered to himself. The valleys were filled with strange black sludge that oozed from the very earth on which the valley rested. The skies were incomprehensibly dark compared to the what it should have been at that time of day and there was a lingering presence of wrath, fear and all manner of dark emotions
Beside the kobold was Arcana who looked on pensively. Her facial structure was still closer to that of a goblin but she had already begun showing signs of hobgoblin transformation, her rank had already risen to a middling soldier. In terms of magic ability, she was less proficient than Juliet but was still outstanding, nonetheless.
Her main element at that time was fire, she only knew three spells, [fire bright], [spit fire], and [fire spiral]. Though the only spell she could control was [spit fire]. [Fire bright] was an auxiliary spell, which enhanced all proceeding fire spells for a short time, and [fire spiral] was an Area of effect attack. This was opposed to Juliet who had learned the spell [bone forge] which allowed her to regrow limbs at incredible speed, this was her most powerful spell and she could only use it once. Her most common spell was [regenerate] which could heal heavy wounds in a matter of seconds, she could only use that spell thrice before being wiped out, though if she weakened its output she could cast it twelve times; but the effect would be significantly diminished: she usually used this form when the battle was over and the injured had more time to heal.
Regenerate was a new spell created with the joint effort of Sia and Scitus. Sia did most of the work while Scitus mostly broadened her knowledge of cells and their structure. With this new knowledge, Sia was able to create perhaps one of the most potent healing spells on the entire Feren continent. Its power potential was only lesser then the [Divinity Law: Life] which could instantly reconstruct an entire person and, if cast at the same instant of a person's death, it could even revive them to full power. There were only a handful of spellcasters capable of casting divinity laws and even fewer spell casters that could cast healing divinity laws. Even Sia couldn't cast divinity healing spells though she did know two divinity laws. These were her most powerful spells, her favorite was [divinity law: Fire] capable of heats beyond Scitus’s ability to both create and resist. This was because Scitus had a good handle of [foundation magic] which was incredibly safe to use and incredible potent while also being stable with almost no risk of backlash. Foundation magic required knowledge to function, normal magicians used foundation magic but the most powerful magicians used [Mind Magic] which was only limited by a magicians imagination. Scitus’s magic could dominate any other magic but it would never reach the pinnacle of power because the pinnacle of power for [Mind Magic] did not exist, though as a consequence [mind magic] was also thousands of times more dangerous and could lead to a swift death if handled incorrectly.
Sia’s second strongest spell was an auxiliary spell called, [Divinity Law: Mind] which allowed her to cast several hundred spells in a single instant for several seconds, that spell was what had led to rumors of her being a one-man army. Six years ago an army of ten thousand had chased her to the Oasis, at that time she mustered all her strength to cast her strongest combination spell which was later known as [ten thousand demonic slaughter] the attack had pushed her beyond her limits and caused her to fall into a comatose state for several days but at the same time the spell destroyed an army of ten thousand soldiers some of which were [Champion] ranked.
The small army continued their trek from valley to valley as they searched for the warbeast hunt.

On the Road to Elspar (Book 1)
The year is 1329. The Huntress' War has entered its tenth year, inflaming competing nationalisms and pitting the Confederacy of Caldrein against one of the continent's superpowers, the Tenereian Union. Desperately outnumbered, the Confederacy has relied on the prowess of its famed Caldran mercenaries, with highly-trained and experienced warbands returning from foreign conflicts to the defense of their homeland, and it is on their backs that Caldrein has successfully mounted a valiant defense for a decade. But they are losing, and day by day, with all the grace of a sledgehammer, the vast Tenereian armies take one more bit of Caldran territory, one footstep at a time. Sixteen-year-old Neianne from the village of Caelon has submitted herself to Faulkren Academy, one of the centuries-old institutions established to train the next generation of Caldrein's elite soldiers of fortune, to learn the ways of wars for three years before embarking upon the defense of her country. Her dryad family once hailed from reclusive woodland communes isolated from Caldrein's complicated mainstream society, and her upbringing leaves the shy village girl unprepared to suddenly train alongside other apprentices from backgrounds as low as the dirty slums of Caldrein's cities and as high as the halls of aristocratic power. Yet the war is eroding the norms and traditions that the Caldran people have long considered part of their national mythos, and the tensions within the confederacy that have long simmered under the surface - race, class, community, identity - are slowly but surely dividing its people, and Neianne must grow and discover who she really is, even as the war that she is steadfastly training for comes to its inexorable end... On the Road to Elspar is a fantasy quest - a work of interactive fiction wherein readers get to vote on what happens next at critical junctures - that is the first entry in a story that follows Neianne of Caelon, which first began on July 20, 2016. Originally a three-part in medias res prologue to a larger story titled On the Elsparian Road, it was eventually decided that this section - which covers Neianne's three years at Faulkren Academy - become its own independent story due to length, structural, and accessibility reasons. Despite this being a reader interactive work of fiction, due to logistical and verification concerns, voting will only be counted on its thread on the forum Sufficient Velocity, where this story originally began. As such, the content here on Royal Road serves as a story-only archive.
