Author's Note: Long chapter for being absent for a while. Enjoy!
Hu Die quickly ran around trying to heal as many soldiers as she can. Her team and her were sent to a nearby village, by the Emperor, when a light entered the village and caused an explosion. The source was unknown and many buildings were destroyed. This caused a havoc in the city as many thought that the city was getting attacked. Hu Die was sent by the Emperor to help heal the people who got devastating injuries.
“Lady Hu Die,” A nearby male healer called out to her, “we found someone who is seriously injured here!” The healer had the person on his back and he gently set the person down on a nearby table.
“What situation?” Hu Die yelled back as she concentrated on the patient before her.
“A black situation.” The male healer yelled back. Hu Die’s eyes widened. Patients were categorized into six categories. It started with white, yellow, orange, blue, purple, and black. The darker the color, the more serious the injuries. Hu Die finished healing the serious injuries of the purple patient in front of her, leaving the minor injuries to her the other healers, and quickly ran to where the young man was calling. She wiped away the sweat on her forehead.
“Who is it?” She asked as she walked up to the patient.
“Actually… I don’t think he is a resident here…” The healer replied.
“What do you mean?”
“Take a look at him.” The healer moved out of the way and Hu Die raised her eyebrows as she saw the patient.
“Dark elf? What is a dark elf doing here?” Hu Die muttered. In the Sky continent dark elves were rarely seen and there had been rumors of them going extinct however, a couple of years ago a few of them arrived in the Green continent which caused those rumors to go away. Still it was rare for an elf to be seen in Skye continent because elves were mostly found in the Beast and Fog continents far away from the Sky continent. ‘Was he the reason for the explosion?’ Hu Die thought as she observed the man and saw that he had a lot of cuts underneath dried dirt and grime on his dark grey skin. His long white hair was tangled with dried blood. He looked as if he was in a battle from the huge slice on his abdomen. Hu Die knew that he was related to the destruction that happened and knew that if they needed answers the dark elf could not die.
“What do we do Lady Hu Die? Are we allowed to heal someone not of the human race?” The healer fidgeted nervously. Hu Die shook her head to clear her mind.
“We have no choice,” Hu Die said and began to wipe the dark elf’s body down with a damped cloth, “he is the one who holds the key to all our questions.” Hu Die could see how inflamed the man’s injuries were. The male healer nodded and began to start cleaning the dark elf off too. Hu Die had many healers surround the dark elf for he had such deep injuries that Hu Die was surprised he wasn’t dead yet. They took over three days using all their chi energy to heal the man. Color eventually returned to his pained and paled face.
For the next three months afterwards the dark elf did not regain conscious. Hu Die had him moved to Heavenly Cloud’s city to keep watch of him. She had a healer and several high ranked guards in his room at all times. When Hu Die healed him Hu Die found out he was 8th Leveled Grandmaster. Hu Die knew that when he woke up he would be too weak to do anything however she still had precautions just in case something did happen. On the fourth month a healer rushed to get her from the clinic.

“He’s.. awake… that dark elf… he’s…. awake.” The healer panted. Hu Die stopped everything she was doing and had one of her trusted healers take charge of her work as she quickly left to meet the dark elf.
Hu Die entered the room and saw him with his hands up cautiously moving around the room as if he was ready to fight anyone. He spoke in elf language and no one understood him. The healers were trying to calm him down so that his injuries would not reopen however he did not stop moving around. The guards were alert hands on their swords in case anything happened.
“Everyone move back.” Hu Die said out loud clearly. The healers and guards bowed to her before they moved back. Hu Die knew that the dark elf must have felt very scared and nervous so she approached him slowly. The dark elf was still looking at the healers and guards, his eyes cautious. “Sir?” Hu Die said softly. The dark elf’s light blue eyes met Hu Die’s eyes and he froze. His hands slowly dropped to his side and his eyes widened. He said something however Hu Die ignored it because she didn’t understand. The dark elf suddenly ran up to Hu Die and hugged her tightly. The guards pulled out their sword but Hu Die held out her hand a motion for them to stop. He held onto Hu Die for a long time and Hu Die patted him on the back. After a while he finally backed away. He patted his chest.
“Lan Hei Kong. Lan Hei Kong.” He said. Hu Die looked at him confused at first before nodding, understanding that he was saying his name to her. She smiled at him.
“Lan Hei Kong.” She said and relief washed over his face. He said something in elf language before giving Hu Die another hug. Hu Die was surprised however did not refused his hug as she felt he was like a lost child.
After the class was done Chief Chu went back to the room. He told the two that the rest of the day was theirs and then guided Yu Lin to her room as He Lan left the scene. Yu Lin kept her hands closed to her hiding the wounds on them. She clenched her teeth, trying to control her anger from coming out. ‘Lan Hei Kong! Lan Hei Kong! You may have killed me in my last life, but in this life I will kill you!’ She cursed him inwardly.
“How was your first day here Yu Lin?” Chief Chu suddenly said breaking Yu Lin’s train of thought. Yu Lin looked up at him.
“Yes grandpa?”
“How was your first day here?” Chief Chu said gently. When he had picked them up he felt that something was wrong with Yu Lin yet he did not know what so he tried to be cautious with his words.
“It was good. I am very grateful towards grandpa for bringing me here.” Yu Lin answered.
“That’s good.” Chief Chu had nothing else to say and soon they arrived at Yu Lin’s room. “If you want to take a bath then ring the bell and Tang Tang will come.” Chief Chu gestured towards the bell. Yu Lin nodded. She was going to step inside when she stopped.
“Grandpa I almost forgot to tell you,” She looked at Chief Chu, “I just learned magic. Mother told me to practice it frequently until I get the hang of it. She told me to tell you just in case you sense anything weird.” She said. ‘Magic?’ Thought Chief Chu but he quickly understood.

“I understand.” He nodded his head. Yu Lin smiled, however the smile didn’t touch her eyes, before turning around to enter the room. “Yu Lin,” she heard Chief Chu say and she turned back around, “if you ever have any troubles you can just tell grandpa. Whatever it is, grandpa will listen to you.” He gave her a reassuring smile. Yu Lin blinked speechless before nodding her head.
“Ok.” She smile and then watched as he gave her another smile before leaving.
Yu Lin closed the door behind her and then just stood there. ‘I wonder what made him say that?’ She thought. She let out a sigh before wiping the thought away from her head. She opened her hands and looked at the wounds from her fingernails. She hovered right hand over her left and then ejected her chi energy to the wound quickly healing it. She did the same to the other hand. She looked at her now healed hand with no trace of a wound except for the dry blood that was left on there. She lifted her pointer finger up and created water the size of a small marble. She dropped it on her hand and then quickly rubbed her hands together, before rubbing her wet hands on her trousers.
She then walked to the center of the room and sat down. She began to meditate resting her hands on her knees. Moments passed before she opened her eyes feeling her chi center was balanced she lifted her hand up. ‘Imagine the chi running to my finger, creating a flame. The flame will grow, and grow, and grow until it is the size of my fist.’ She thought. She felt her chi energy do as she imagined and a flame popped out hovering on top of her finger. The flame grew and grew until it was the size of her fist. ‘Now imagine the flame losing energy and growing smaller and smaller.’ The flame grew smaller at her will. Yu Lin practiced just like how her mother told her to. Afterwards she moved on to practice her water, earth, wind, and electricity. After she used up three quarters of her energy she stopped. She felt that she understood the concept of each element and yet somehow something felt missing. ‘What is it? What is this feeling?’ She scratched her head however could not come up with an answer. She put her hand on her neck to feel sweat dripping down. She pulled her head back in disgust and decided it was time for her to take a bath. She took a change of clothes before ringing the bell. Within seconds Tang Tang appeared in front of her door.
“Would young lady like her bath now?” Tang Tang bowed her head. Yu Lin bowed back.
“Yes please.” Yu Lin replied.
“Follow me this way.” Tang Tang led her to the bathhouse. The sun was beginning to set as Yu Lin stared at the colorful sky. “Hot water had been prepared already, my lady can just get in right away. Place your dirty clothes outside and other servants will tend to it” Tang Tang opened the bathhouse door. Yu Lin nodded her head and thanked Tang Tang before entering the bath house. She stripped her clothes and with one hand set it outside.
A gleeful smile appeared on her face when she saw the bath and she jumped right in. She let out a sigh of relaxation. She thought about the events of the day and smiled. ‘I am very lucky this lifetime.’ She thought. The water soothed her aching muscles and she rested her head on the the edge of the stone bath. Tiredness started to wash over her as her eyes began to flutter close.
Hu Die gently grabbed Hei Kong’s hand, placing her fingers firmly on his wrist to feel his pulse. It felt better than it did four months ago when they first found him. Hu Die was worried about how to talk to Hei Kong, because the elf language translator was going to get to Heavenly Clouds city in three days. Hu Die decided not to stressed on it.
“You are getting better.” She said as she looked up at him. He looked at her with a soft expression on his face as if she was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. He said something however she didn’t understand and only cocked her head in confusion. Seeing her do this, Hei Kong let out a cheerful laugh and then grimaced in pain. Hu Die hovered her hand over his stomach and injected her chi energy into him. The pain on his face went away and a smile replaced it instead. Hu Die let go of his hand and stood up.
“I have to go now. I will come back tomorrow.” She said and turned to leave. Hei Kong quickly grabbed her wrist. Hu Die eyebrows rose and she turned around. He looked up at her with sad eyes. He opened his mouth…
“Young lady are you done with your bath?” Tang Tang called out. Yu Lin opened her eyes and sat up.
“Almost.” She yelled back out. She stepped out of the bath, dried herself, and threw her clothes on before exiting the bath house.
“Did you enjoy your bath young lady?” Tang Tang bowed. Yu Lin bowed back feeling awkward.
“Yes. At my house we have a smaller, but the one here is so spacious.” She answered.
“I see. There is some time left before dinner. Would you like to return to your room?”
“Ye-” Yu Lin thought about it for a second, “Actually, I want to see lady Ju Hua.”
“Yes. Please follow me this way.”
Soon after they arrived in front of a room. The door was wide open and Yu Lin had a soft look to her eyes as she looked at Ju Hua sitting on a chair reading a book.
“Thank you lady Tang Tang.”
“Don’t worry about young lady. When dinner is ready I will come get you two.” Tang Tang then quietly strolled off. Yu Lin entered the room quietly, trying not to disturb Ju Hua reading. She then sat down quietly across from her. After a moment Ju Hua finally noticed a presence in the room and looked up from her book. When she saw Yu Lin she smiled.
“Why didn’t you say anything if you were here?” Ju Hua squinted her eyes.
“You look like you were enjoying your book. I did not want to disturb you, aunt Ju Hua.” Yu Lin replied. ‘What a strange child.’ Ju Hua thought. Ju Hua had experience with children in the past and when they wanted attention they would always disturb her no matter what she was doing. Ju Hua looked at Yu Lin suspiciously before setting her book down.
“Now then, how may I help you?” Ju Hua said. Yu Lin bowed her head before answering,
“Aunt Ju Hua, this place that you come from… how is it?” Yu Lin asked carefully watching Ju Hua’s every action. Ju Hua’s eyes widened and then she looked away from Yu Lin’s gaze. Images flashed through her head and her lips quivered. She took a deep breath in trying to calm her racing heart. Yu Lin immediately regretted asking the question. Although she got a gist of what had happened she wanted to hear it come from Ju Hua herself, but after seeing Ju Hua’s reaction she wished she had never asked. Yu Lin opened her mouth to change the topic, but Ju Hua also opened her mouth.
“It’s beautiful. The buildings, the houses, they are all beautiful. The market is always full of beautiful clothing and jewelry.” Ju Hua looked back into Yu Lin’s eyes and she had a sad smile on her face.
“I see.” Yu Lin said. Silence filled the air for a while as no one knew what to say. Yu Lin didn’t know what to say. She didn’t know the actual situation in Sky Continent. She didn’t know how bad it was, however she knew that Ju Hua loved Sky Continent. She knew that Ju Hua would never leave Heavenly Clouds city unless something major caused her to. ‘It was me,’ she thought, ‘it has to be me. I am the one who caused all this pain. I have to be the one to fix it.’ Yu Lin felt that it had to be her fault. If she didn’t die that day, then Ju Hua wouldn’t be sitting in front of her reincarnated self. Yu Lin mustered up all her courage. “Aunt Ju Hua.” She said clearly. She didn’t want to see that painful look in Ju Hua’s eyes, however she knew that it was there for a reason.
“Yes?”
“One day, I will go to that place. The place where you came from. No matter what hardships, I will overcome them all and go there. When that time comes, please tell me all about it, the place where you come from.” Yu Lin firmly said with determined eyes. Ju Hua’s eyes widened as she looked at Yu Lin’s face. She had seen this face before, it was the face that she had seen on her cousin Hu Die’s face. It was the face Hu Die had after her chi center got shattered but she refused to give up on finding a way to fix it. It was the face of hopelessness, yet it contained hope. Tears began to form in her eyes and she quickly wiped them away. ‘Maybe… just maybe this girl will be able to change it all.’ She thought inwardly.
“I understand. When you grow old enough, I will tell you everything.” Ju Hua gave her a smile. Yu Lin smiled back seeing no sadness in Ju Hua’s face.
“My beautiful fiancee, I just got our wedding date!” Sen Feng barged in singing loudly. He had a smug look on his face with a trace of lust in his eyes. The look came off his face completely when he saw Yu Lin sitting there with a sour expression on her face. “What? What is this brat doing here?!”
“Ugh, disgusting,” Yu Lin clicked her tongues multiple times, “with that look on your face, it’s no wonder woman stay away from you.”
“What? What would a three year old brat like you know about anything?” Sen Feng yelled.
“I know enough to know you are a danger to women everywhere.” Yu Lin jeered. Ju Hua let out a laugh. She remembered the first time she met Sen Feng, and how he was chasing skirt everywhere around town. He always failed though. She had also made a promise with Sen Feng not to do anything until after marriage and he had agreed. Sen Feng looked at Ju Hua with a hurt expression.
“Honey, why are you laughing?” He said in disbelief. Ju Hua frowned at him.
“Is she lying? Before you saw me, you were trying to get with every girl in town.” Ju Hua looked at him with disapproving eyes.
“Honey…” Sen Feng was speechless. Although he knew he used to be a player- a very bad one who rarely got woman- he had thought that Ju Hua had forgotten all about his days as one. ‘Why? Why is everyone against me these days?’ he thought and then turned to look at Yu Lin, ‘it is all because of you.’ He glared at her. Yu Lin felt his chi aura approaching her and a chill went up her spine. In this life she was only 5th Level Bronze Ranked. If she and Sen Feng would to duel she would definitely lose. She watched frozen stiff for a moment as Sen Feng approached her. “It’s all because of you!” He yelled.
“Trouble.” She muttered before jumping out of her chair and quickly crawling under the table and hiding behind Ju Hua.
“Yah!” Sen Feng yelled and continued to go after her trying to avoid hitting his fiancee who was sitting in the middle of the two fighting.
Chief Chu saw Tang Tang walking towards Ju Hua’s room.
“Tang Tang.” He called out. Tang Tang stopped in her tracks, turned around and bowed her head.
“How may I help Master Chu?”
“Are you on your way to get Yu Lin for dinner?”
“Yes Master Chu.”
“Let’s go together.”
“Yes Master Chu.” Tang Tang waited for Chief Chu to walk up to her before she began walking again. Chief Chu’s eyebrows rose as they kept walking not towards Yu Lin’s room but towards Sen Feng’s and Ju Hua’s room.
“This is not the way to Yu Lin’s room.” He said confused.
“After her bath, young lady went to visit lady Ju Hua.” Tang Tang replied.
“I see.” Chief Chu nodded. They were a couple steps away from the room however they could hear a lot of yelling inside. “What is going on?” Chief Chu said as he walked in front of the entrance. He looked inside the room to see a furious, red faced Sen Feng trying to grab hold of a scared yet mischievous looking Yu Lin. He saw Ju Hua laughing stuck between the two. If one saw this they would think that it was a mother looking after her two fighting children. Chief Chu sighed and shook his head. He walked inside and then raised his arms, when he was within arm’s length of Sen Feng and Yu Lin he smashed his fist down on each of their heads. Afterwards he drag the each of them by the ear to the dining room.
