《Blood of an Inhuman Hitman (Rewrite)》Chapter 1 - Life Loves Throwing Curve Balls

A Blonde Teen was standing in the toilets of his high school and looking into the mirror in front of him while he washed his hands.
After he'd finished washing his hands, he splashed some water onto his face and then looked deeply at the reflection he saw. He saw deep royal blue eyes, an angular and sharp face that looked quite manly, or so he was told by a lot of people.
He looked up at the mop of golden blonde hair that would be considered medium in length if he let it down but he combed most of it towards the back of his head and behind his ears. It looked quite trendy and most people seemed to like it.
He looked at his body in the mirror and slightly shook his head. What he saw was a white shirt that was stained in some kind of black paint. But it would do little to distract people from the fact that the shirt was kind of tight and showed off his toned upper body from playing sports.
'I guess I should have guessed she was gonna do something like that...'
This blond teen was called Jack Noctis and he'd just broken up with his girlfriend. His now ex-girlfriend didn't take the break-up very well, as seen by his shirt being covered in black paint; she was an art student and he broke up with her near paint. Looking back on it, he couldn't help but feel he was slightly stupid to do it there.
He didn't break up with her out of spite, quite the opposite in fact, as he broke up with her because today was the official end of highschool and they were off to college in a few months. He did it to save them both the trouble of keeping a long-distance relationship going, when he would be in a completely different state to her.
'I needed to break up with her today before I moved, I don't want to hurt her by forcing her to do a long distance relationship. And it wasn't set in stone that we'd stay together long after I moved, right? Guess she wanted to be the one who broke up with me or something...'
As he continued to second guess himself and doubt the way he broke the girl's heart, he reached into his backpack and brought out a football jersey he'd been given by the coach today. Something about his contribution to the team or whatever.
He was in the middle of putting the jersey on and looking in the mirror, letting his vain side takeover for a moment, when he heard a voice off to his side, "All that working out paid off, huh dude?"
Jack's eyes shot off to his side, full of caution that soon melted away when he saw who it was.
Gary Long, a chinese-american kid who Jack had grown up with stood in front of him. Gary had been Jack's best friend for as long as he could remember, even when Jack's mom just up and left him, Gary and his family gave him a home until he went to live in a hostel after he had enough money. He really loved the guy like a brother.
Gary stood around 5'8" and while he looking skinny, Gary was actually quite toned from all the martial arts classes he took. He had short black hair and metallic grey eyes on a slightly above average face. Overall he was a decent-looking guy.
"Jesus, Gary, you scared the shit out of me!" Jack couldn't help but laugh as he slid the football jersey over his bare upper body. He grabbed his bag and walked over to Gary and fist bumping him in greeting.

Gary looked at Jack putting on a football jersey in confusion before his eyes fell on the stained white shirt hanging out of Jack's bag. He instantly started laughing his ass off which caused Jack to groan and quickly stuff the white shirt fully into his bag.
"Shut up, dude, I'm gonna have to rush home and wash this before it permanently stains the shirt...Speaking of going home, where's Jason? You two are usually together," Jack looked behind Gary before smirking and seeing a chance to get back at his friend who was laughing at his misfortune, "Hmm, now that I mention it, there are some weird rumors going around that you two are always together for a reason~"
At Jack's faux jeer, Gary instantly stopped laughing before looking at Jack with a mock-angry look on his face, "Don't you start, I'll bombard you with peanuts if you don't shut up!"
Jack rolled his eyes and put his hands up in surrender. Yep, Jack had a nut allergy and whenever he brought up Gary and Jason's sore spot, death by peanut bombardment was the counter to it.
The air was light and casual between the two friends who were bantering with each other but there was somthing wrong in the air; something sinister below the surface.
Not knowing any better, Jack implored Gary to lead him to wherever Jason was waiting for them. Gary quickly agreed and they made their way. Along the way to the front of the school (where Jason was waiting), Jack asked Gary how he knew he was in the toilets. To which Gary informed Jack that there were multiple spottings of a tall blond kid with a shirt covered in black paint by multiple students and that a good majority of them said he was heading to a bathroom.
So past that it ws just a matter of elimination.
Jack shook his head in disbelief; this friend of his would totally be a good detective, totally no sarcasm.
Anyway, it didn't take long for them to get to the front of the school and see Jason, the last member of their trio.
Standing in front of the two was a tall teen, at about 6'3" Jason was taller than both Jack and Gary. But his height's impact was slightly diminished by his width; Jason was quite chubby. So despite his height, he wasn't very intimidating.
Jason had brown hair and matching brown eyes. Jack thought that if he slimmed down a bit on his face and his figure, he'd be quite a good looking guy. Alas, as Jason would say himself, he likes binge eating too much to slim down.
"Aww, you changed your shirt! I had my phone camera ready and everything!" Jason had a disappointed look on his face as he shoved his phone back into his pocket.
Jack's eye twitched when he saw this, "Hmm, wouldn't it be fun if I covered you in paint and took a picture of you? Huh, Jason?" his voice sounded pretty annoyed as he glared at his friend.
Jason attitude instantly did a 180 and he started talking about how bad it was that someone would pour paint all over Jack. Used to his quick-witted friend, Jack just ignored Jason.
But shortly after that they all started laughing and started walking towards Gary's house. They were going to Gary's house because as per summer traditions, they would start the summer off with a massive marathon of games and movies, while deciding on what to do for the rest of the summer.
Granted Jack would have to dropout of most of the plans as he had to get his stuff together and take it to his new college dorm but he'd make sure to be there as much as he could.

Halfway through one of their conversations Jack saw that Jason had disappeared. He looked around for any sight of him and when he was about to look behind himself, he felt something hit his head, hard.
Jack instantly felt the world around him go black and everything, whether it be sound, his sight and even his sense of touch, everything just got jumbled up and felt distorted.
He could, however, feel himself being dragged somewhere. When his senses started coming back to him he found that he was in an alleyway. He wondered why no one saw him getting dragged into the alley but suddenly it hit him.
'There had been a festival today and everyone's probably there, granted that there isn't a lot of people on the street usually anyway, so I can't be shocked that no one helped...'
His senses now back and functioning, albeit barely, Jack heard some familiar voices and instantly felt nauseous.
"Don't you think you hit him a bit hard, Jason? He's been pretty out of it for about 7/8 minutes now," Gary's usually joking voice, was now speaking in a cold, almost detached sort of way. Another familiar voice answered he question.
"Well, I had to hit him hard otherwise the big bastard wouldn't have gone down, Gary. Anyway, look he's looking right at us now, so say your stuff to him," Jason walked away, clearly disinterested in whatever was about to be said or what was about to happen.
Jack was looking up at Gary and Jason, his friends since early childhood, no, his best friends since early childhood, and he couldn't help but feel sick to his very core at the betrayal. He went to say something but before he could, Gary slapped him across the face.
Usually he could have withstood a blow from Gary, someone about 70lbs lighter than him and a whole 4 inches shorter but because of the earlier blow and the damage that caused, the slap from Gary felt like a hammer crashing against his face.
"Now now Jack, we get that you're confused but we need to speak to you first," a slight manic tone was present in his voice as he continued, "You see, I've been pretty displeased by the way you've treated ME!" Gary had some kind of outburst but calmed himself before carrying on, "I liked Sasha, you knew this, and what do you do? You went out with her! You've brought her out with us and flirted with the girl I liked in front of me! Is that what friends do?! Huh!?"
Before Jack could speak, Gary started punching Jack in the face. He kept punching until he heard a sickening crack and blood started spurting out of Jack's nose. But despite the pain, Jack didn't scream, he barely even let out a grunt of pain in response to Gary's punches.
After doing this and letting out a relieved sigh, he started speaking again, "Why did you do it, Jack? Why date the girl I like, flirt with her in front of me and then expect to get away with it? You could have dated any other girl but you chose her, Why? Why? Why? WHY?! It absolutely infuriates me!" Gary started twitcing as he started hitting Jack again.
While listening to what Gary was saying, Jack was in complete disbelief. From what he was hearing, Gary wasn't very mentally stable to say the least.
After the punches from Gary stopped, Jack looked up at Gary in complete horror. He saw the unhinged look in his friends eyes and the detached smile spread across his face. But the more he looked, the less horror was present on his face. In fact, the more he looked, the more Jack's face filled with fury.
All the fury built up until it burst out of Jack's mouth, "So this is all about a GIRL!? a GIRL you couldn't even speak to on your own?! HAHAHAHAHA!" Jack coughed up some blood before continuing, "Honestly, why blame me for the fact that you couldn't ask her out? That's unfair. Is it that if you like a girl, I can't go out with her? That's naive. If you like a girl, you go out with her, not do what you did and just procrastinate instead of talking to her!"
Hearing what Jack pretty much roared at him, Gary was shocked.
He thought that in his current situation, the usually cool and bold Jack, would be shivering in terror but instead, he was unlike his usual self when he was angry; A barely controlled beast that was inches away from tearing something apart.
Looking over and seeing Gary hesitate, Jason walked over and kicked Jack in the face a couple times but like before Jack only grunted in pain, he didn't beg or scream, he just grunted.
After the kicking stopped, Jack looked up at Jason. His look must have told Jason that he wanted to know why he had done this.
Jason's calm face twisted into a sadistic grin as he spoke in a casual voice, "I'm doing this for a simple reason. I simply hate how perfect you are, Jack. You have a good body, your handsome and charismatic. I simply can't stand you. So I decided that I wanted to hurt you and so did Gary, so we came up with this plan."
'Perfect? I'm not perfect at all you fuckwit. These two are fucking insane. I need to escape and get the cops--Huh?'
As Jack looked down he saw a knife firmly planted in his abdomen.
It had been thrust in there by Jason. Jason then started pulling it out while twisting it. This, unlike the punches and kicks, elicited a cry of pain from Jack, and many more after that as Jason kept stabbing Jack.
He stabbed him in his chest, in his arms and legs, he carved up his face. He just did what came to mind, like he was playing a game.
Soon after he'd grown bored of cutting and stabbing him, Jason put the knife away and got up and left with Gary after spitting on him.
Jack was left there, surprisingly alive, hanging onto the last flames of his life. His usually bright and confident eyes were now dimming quickly, the only light left in his eyes was the rejection of death and rage at his so-called best friends.
'So this is how I die? I don't want to die like this. I wanted to live my life. Why did this have to happen to me for fuck's sake? Why me? Why mE? WHy Me? WHY ME!?'
After mentally screaming this while his body went into seizures, Jack started to pass out from blood loss.
Just before this happened a figure appeared and spoke, "Ohohoh what a wonderful test subject. His blood is especially vigorous. I could definitely test that on this boy," the voice was androgynous and sounded incredibly light-hearted despite looking at Jack's mutilated body.
After the mysterious figure spoke, they pulled out of a vial with a vibrant red liquid in it that seemed quite similar to blood but at the same time definitely wasn't human blood or normal blood in general. This was apparent because it seemed to give off a red glow and an aura of incredible vitality. The figure took out a syringe and extracted the liquid from the vial and in a quick motion that seemed extremely practiced, the figure stabbed the syringe into Jack's chest, right where his heart would be.
"Don't disappoint me now, I have quite high hopes for you~"
After saying that the mysterious person left in an instant. But more interestingly the wounds on Jack's body had started to heal and Jack's entire body was shivering and all its muscles were contracting and the bones sounded like they were broken over and over again.
Jack was starting to change. Changing into something quite, well, Inhuman.
