After a few hours a man walks into the room, it’s the servant who has a talent for painting. He is bruised and badged up now. His eyes go a little wide as he sees the hog tied Mo Pengfei being used as a foot rest, but only says. “Sir, the main hall is now cleaned out.”

“Good, what about the men who were sent out to heal?”

“Only nine people are still out, they were injured the worst and the healers wouldn’t let them move after being worked on.”

“That is fine. I want everyone to go around the compound and start to strip it of anything valuable and bring it in here. Weapons, art, money, jewels and anything really nice that can sell for a decent price.”

The man bows and says, “At once sir.”

Over the next few hours people are coming in and out of the throne room and depositing stuff. Everyone has the same reaction, their eyes go wide when they see their former boss being used as a footstool. But they say nothing at all and just place what they are carrying down and then leave. About half the room is now full of stuff, art in one pile. Weapons in another, a small pile of money and jewels in one corner, a handful of really nice furniture pieces and the rest is just a random mix of junk that might be worth something.

After another thirty minutes they are finished and the painter comes back into the room. He bows as he says, “Sir the task is complete, what would you like us to do next?”

“Did you check Mo Pengfei’s quarters?”

“We did sir, that is where most of the art came from.”

Zhi stands up and then picks up Mo Pengfei and set’s him on the throne. He pats the man on the shoulder and says, “Don’t worry, I will be back in a bit.”

Turing to look over at the painter, Zhi says. “Lead the way around the entire compound, I wish to double check everything.”

The man nods to Zhi and then walks to the door and waits for Zhi to follow behind him. Zhi begins to walk around the compound at a slow pace and uses his spirit sense to check everywhere. The first time he found something, he pointed it out to his guide. His guide was a little surprised but pulled out a cabinet to find a little cache of money. As they started walking again, his guide called over a couple people to help with anything they might find. After an hour they had found hidden caches and other things throughout the compound.

The big find was actually in Mo Pengfei’s room. Underneath a dresser and some floorboards was a hidden trap door into a sub basement. In the hidden basement they found more money, jewels and a few other things that were very valuable. After stacking all that in the throne room, Zhi asked that they send some people to go check on the wounded people and that everyone else should rest until he came back and if they somehow let Mo Pengfei escape, he would kill all of them. His statement caused all the people left in the compound to rest in the throne room, to wait for his return.

Zhi Left the compound and went to the Blue Jewel. It was already late at night and the restaurant was already closed. But he jumped the back fence and knocked on the back door to Yongzheng’s house. It didn’t take long before the door opened to reveal a smiling Zhao.

“You’re back! We were worried about you.”

“What, you thought I couldn’t handle some riff raff?

Zhao shakes his head and says, “No I knew you would be fine.”

Zhi waits for a few moments in front of the door before he says, “So are you gonna let me in or what?”

Zhao turns a little red but steps back out of the way and gestures to Zhi to come inside. Zhi walks into the kitchen and dining room area which is currently empty besides him and Zhao. Zhao closes the door and says, “Everyone is still up in the living room area.”

“Good, let's go see them.” Zhi takes the lead and walks through a short hallway and then enters a nicely furnished living room area. Seated in the room are Sun Yongzheng, Sun Meifeng, Huang Xiula, Hai Ya, and Hai Qiang. Zhao follows Zhi into the room and takes a seat next to his aunt and uncle.

Zhi smiles back at the group while taking a seat and says, “Took a little longer than I thought it would. I still have to go back in the morning to finish getting everything settled and I will need to get Mu Zang’s help for a few things.”

Qiang is the first to speak and asks, “You really did it?”

Zhi nods his head and says, “Mo Pengfei is currently tied up in his throne room, what is left of his men is currently guarding him under the threat of death.”

Everyone pales a little at Zhi’s words, Zhao is the first to ask. “You said what is left? Did you kill a lot of them? I know you said you planned to do it, but did you really have to kill them?”

“It was necessary evil that had to be done. All of them were tainted in bad karma. I forced them to fight to the death and the ones that survived have better karma because of it. Plus what was I going to do with three hundred or so thugs? Take Mo Pengfei’s place?”

Zhao looks down after hearing Zhi’s answer, but Yongzheng is the next to ask, “Do you still plan to do your complete plan?”

“Yes, that hasn’t changed at all. I will start on it tomorrow. I should be finished in a few days I think. Zhao, for the next few days you are on your own while I take care of the next part.”

Zhao looks back up and grits his teeth as he says, “Do you really have to do this?”

Zhi looks directly into Zhaos eyes and holds his gaze for a few moments before he says, “Yes. It will be the best way to fix the issue.”

“But then more people will be killed!”

Zhi shakes his head as he says, “People with bad karma, people who do terrible things to gain that karma. Zhao, you are a nice kid and have a great compassion for other people, but it is misplaced on these people.”

“But if you kill them, then they won’t have a chance to change their ways. What if we could reform them?”

Zhi actually laughs and then says, “Zhao, I am giving them a chance to reform. When they die, they will be sent off to pay for their karma and then reincarnate. When they do, they will reform into a new person!”

Meifeng actually laughs for a moment at Zhi’s joke then covers her mouth in shock. She looks slightly embarrassed by the outburst since no one else but Zhi laughed. The rest of the table looks at Zhi with some concern while Zhao actually looks upset, his face in a scowl as he glares at Zhi.

Zhi lets out a sigh and says, “I will tell you what Zhao, I will give you till tomorrow morning to come up with another plan. If you come up with something logical that makes sense I will change my plans. Otherwise I will carry out my plan and you won’t be a salty little bitch about it.”

Zhao looks a little relieved, but still scowls at Zhi for his comment and says. “I will think of something just you wait.”

“I look forward to it, now if you will excuse me I am gonna rest till the morning. Have a good night everyone.”

Zhi gets up and walks out of the room and down a hallway, he walks into a nicely furnished guest room and climbs into the bed. He sits in the lotus position and begins to calm his breathing down. After a few minutes he thinks, “Buddha turn back on messages and show me what I missed.”

Zhi spends the night practicing his spirit sense till his alarm goes off. After getting up and stretching he walks out of his guest room and goes down the hall to get Zhao. But Zhao isn’t in his room so Zhi walks to the living room area to find Zhao asleep in his chair. He walks over to the sleeping boy and smacks his cheek lightly a few times to wake him up.

Zhao jumps forward in his seat and actually falls out of it onto the floor. It takes him a few moments to collect himself before he gets up and looks at Zhi. Zhao’s face says it all as he looks at Zhi.

Zhi pats the boy on the shoulder and says, “I have thought about the issue for the past three days and this was the best thing I could think of and I am about eight times older than you. You might not like it, hell I don’t fully like my plan. But it was the best option after I saw how tainted their karma is. Now come on, it’s time to start the day.”
