《The Journey Towards Stardom》Chapter 9 - C Blocker

The leader felt that the silver kid was giving off a dangerous vibe. He was normally impulsive, but his intuition was warning him to quit and get away. It's been a few years since he became a part of the underworld, and he had learned when to quit while ahead but there was no way this guy was dangerous. He refused to trust his intuition here.
Deciding to continue, the leader stretched his hand out once more to touch Aro. "Watch me play around with your bo-"
Before he could finish speaking, Faer had jumped up and planted his boot covered foot right on his face. The leader didn't see it coming and fell down on his ass.
"You son of a bitch!" He screamed.
Faer looked down at him expressionlessly. "That was a warning."
"Fuck! You're really pissing me off!" getting back up because of his hurt pride he ran forward and swung his fist reflexively.
Seeing the punch in slow motion, Faer pushed Aro farther away then tilted his head his body to the side.
"Don't fucking dodge!" Spittle flew out of the leader's mouth as he shouted out his frustration.
'Idiot, like I'd let myself get hit, especially in the face. Jenna would fuck me up.'
"Son of a bitch! You fucking bastards don't just stand there and help me beat his ass!"
The lackeys took their boss's outburst as their cue.
The lackeys consecutively dropped to the ground after a ~Kacha~ was heard. Faer held onto their hands then faintly punched them in the solar plexus. The cracking sound was likely wrists being broken.
The leader stared dumbly as all three of his goons lay sprawled on the ground.
The thugs stealthily got up while coughing and suppressing the pain then hastily ran away after realizing they couldn't win. The thought of chasing after them crossed Faer's mind but he thought better of it since there wasn't a reason to.

Calling up his status screen, Faer wanted to see if there was more information about his new skill.

Appraisal
Just as he thought. Clicking on Appraisal gave him more information.
Appraisal - Allows you to examine the value of something or the status of someone. Levelling the skill enables you to see more information.
"Oh! Lucky!" Faer's outburst inadvertently reminded him that he wasn't alone.
"Well, this was fun, I should probably start doing some work. I can't tell him the Appraisal skill was one he should've gotten from the start. Tehee."
"Are you ok?" Aro asked as he sidled up to Faer.
"Hmm? Oh yeah, I'm fine no worries." Faer smiled and made a victory pose.
Making their way back to the restaurant, they passed by some schoolgirls who were glaring at them as if wanting to say, “What is someone like you doing with such a handsome guy?!”
In Faer's mind, the glare was being sent to him. In actuality, the girls were absentmindedly staring because they both were stunners.
Faer followed behind Aro as he reentered the restaurant.
As his noodles were being served, Faer couldn't wait to suck them into his mouth. Lo mein truly was the best!
Seeing Faer enjoying his noodles and eating unrestrainedly, Aro gave a gentle smile.
"I wasn't quite sure what would happen back then. I really appreciate you protecting me even though I'm quite used to things like that happening."
Raising his head from his bowl of heaven, Faer looked surprised “This happens a lot?"
Nodding his head, Aro confirmed Faer's question.
"Ah, you sure have it rough huh. I guess good-looking people have their troubles too."
'You're one to talk!' Aro thought.
'That's right! Let's try to see if this skill works!'
Uncharacteristically of him, without any regard to Aro's privacy, Faer appraised him.
Name: Aro Lovett
Race: Changeling (Doppelganger)
Faer spat out his beloved noodles.
'Say what now?!'

Crow Tempora is an optimistic country bumpkin who knows very little of life in the heart of the world's cities, however behind his easy smile is a stony determination to achieve his goal of accomplishing the impossible- one that he can only reach by winning the Sieve, the largest competition of young Mystics the world has ever seen. Famous across the entire world and loved almost as widely, Gemini Menza has never known a single day of anonymity in her short life. Entering the Sieve not to work for victory, but to collect it as a boring chore, she soon finds herself shocked by the difficulty of her tasks, both inside the contest and out. After all, she was also given the privilege of joining at a younger age than anyone else. Machiavellian manipulator Unity Eden is growing tired of the tasks forced onto him by those who control him, unfortunately he also happens to be controlled by the leaders of the largest empire the world has ever seen. While he has little hope of wriggling his way out of it, he intends to make his entry into the Sieve as damaging to them as he can. While most are fixated on the events of the Sieve's stages, intently watching the young and talented as they go head to head to find out who holds the title of strongest, Karma Alabaster has her eyes on the powers behind the curtains- the endless machinations of the Immortals and their servants. Caught between enough crisscrossing schemes to form a spiderweb, she must use every ounce of her not inconsiderable mind to keep herself from playing into another's hands... all while solving a mysterious and seemingly impossible murder. The winds of change are blowing in Bermuda, and only one person will shape them. Cover art by: Nova @no_no_nova on tiktok @no_no_no_nova on ig THREE NEW CHAPTERS POSTED EVERY SINGLE WEEK.

Divine Progress
Progress is a dubious god. After failing him, three people are banished from modern times and sent to another world. Seemingly out of place, Christoph is snatched from his own time and plunged into a world of violence and magic with no deity to lend him support. Instead, Progress has seen fit to curse him with an eternal hunger for magical energy. Branded as a demon, he must fight for survival while battling the servants of the god who sent him there, struggling against the 'gift' that Progress bestowed upon him and the past he sought to abandon. Can he make his way across the lands and gather enough strength to survive without the blessings of the Divine? Or will the gods bend him to their will, breaking him if he seeks to resist? This is not a short story, and the plot will take many twists and turns before Christoph's journey comes to a close. After all, it is not the destination, but the Progress that matters in the end. Like many other stories on RoyalRoad, this is my first piece. Feedback is more than welcome, so please leave a reply if you have a comment or question.
