《One Of Many: The Story Of A Walking Bush》Chapter 030 - Alpha wolf

“This tracking skill is amazing!” I said with a happy voice as I was walking after the trail of footprints to the forest. If not for the skill I wouldn’t be able to follow the tracks, it not only helps me to get information from the footprints, it even helps me to see them when they are barely visible.
*”Tracking” leveled up to Lv2*
“Oh, the tracks glow in yellow, amazing there even tracks of small animals over there.” The tracks that I was following started to glow as the skill leveled up, not only that I could see other tracks glow as well and if I focused on one track it would start glowing stronger while the other would get dimmer.
I continued to look at the footprints of the unknown duo and continued on my way, I was walking for half an hour through the thick forest in the direction that I never went before. On my way I found different kinds of trees and different kind of plants, few of them looked useful but I didn’t have time to inspect them because I was focused on my other task.
“I barely moved and the flora of the forest already changed, I guess it is a magical forest.” I pondered about all of the different plants and mushrooms I found in the forest. “What a shame that I still couldn’t consume them… Or can’t I?” I remembered that now that I have the *Overtake* skill I can taste all of my findings and see their effects through the body that I would possess. “Next time I will definitely check their effects.” And by that, I meant taste all the meat and fruits I can find.
I didn’t have to walk much longer because as I went out from one of the bushes that blocked my view, I could see a lonely silhouette of a big muscular guy in armor sitting under a tree near a small pond. “How lucky he is taking a nap, but where is the second person? Hmmm...” I looked around for few minutes while searching for him with my *Detection* skill, but I couldn’t find anything.
“Well, who cares at least he is not around.” I said happily as I slowly crept to the sturdy sleeping soldier. Of course, I did a huge circle to come behind the soldier while using my stealth skill to its max, at the same time I always used my *Detection* skill to check around me to be sure that no one was creeping on me while I was creeping on the ‘sleeping beauty’.
It took me few minutes but only because I was cautious, I stopped behind the tree of the ‘sleeping beauty’ and was already getting ready to release my roots into my target. But just when I was going to attack the person I stopped and asked myself. “What the hell I am doing?” Don't get me wrong I knew exactly what was I doing, I wanted to steal the body of this innocent person for no apparent reason, and not only that I was going to do it without even blinking an eye.

“Why I am so cold blooded? Is this the effects of my body?” I retracted my roots back into my body, “*Sigh*...” I was little sad and disappointed I never seen myself as a bad person, but now I wasn't really sure if I really weren’t. Maybe I was a serial killer before I came to this world or maybe it were the effects of this cursed body, but all that didn’t matter because I was still disappointed in myself either way.
“From this moment I should… Keep my thoughts in check…” Just as I was starting to move away from the tree I heard some rustling in the bushes around the area, immediately I used the detection skill and what I found made my scalp turn numb because my scan showed that the area was surrounded by at least twenty auras. “I am so dead...” I immediately rooted myself on the spot and used my stealth skill to camouflage my presence, and started praying for my safety.
The bushes rustled some more and slowly few figures of monsters could be seen walking from them. Wolves many wolves came out from the bushes, all of them looked scary there were different kinds of them as well. “Silver eye wolves and Iron fur wolves as well that should mean that they have an alpha in their ranks.”
Just as I finished that thought a bigger wolf exited from one of the bushes, he was a lot bigger that the other wolves and not only that but he had silver eyes and his fur had a metallic glint to it as well,
I inspected the alpha wolf without thinking while trembling a little inside from fear.
-Silver Eye Iron Wolf Lv8-
Health: 89/89
Mana: 24/35
Stamina: 30/36
*Silver Eye Iron Wolf* - Peek low tier monster, Silver Eye Iron Wolf is the perfect combination between the two species of Iron Fur Wolf and Silver Eye Wolf, if someone ever meet one of these wolves they should be really careful not only because of the wolf's high strength but also because of its high intellect.
Status: Alpha Wolf
“Inspect Alpha Wolf.” Taking as much information from the wolf as possible.
*Alpha Wolf* - Is the status given to the strongest wolf in a pack, if you ever meet a wolf with this status be wary because its pack should be nearby. It's almost impossible for a pack to have more than one Alpha Wolf, because of their vicious nature for leadership, if two Alpha Wolves appear in a pack they will immediately engage in a combat to the death the winner will become the leader of the pack.
*Wolves with this status have their strength and defense increase.*
As soon as the information of the inspection reached me the Alpha Wolf started to gaze at me. “Did it detect my inspection?” I was surprised by the sudden change of the wolf target from the ‘sleeping beauty’ to myself. “Well shit… The sleepy beauty you better wake up and take those wolves away from here.” There no way that this one soldier could take on all these wolves on his own, so I was hoping that he could at least run away and make a route for my great escape, or just stay in place and hope that the wolfs leave me alone.

“Oh, he is waking up...” The soldier stood up and yawned while doing the ‘Y’ pose, looked around and started to laugh. “Poor soul started to laugh from despair?” He stretched his arms and said something in an unknown language.
Soldier: “Well well well, what a pleasant surprise it would be so nice to warm up after a small nap.”
I looked at the soldier that was talking to himself, his size was quite big at least a meter and ninety, he wore a sturdy metal armor gear with a helmet as well. The armor had many scratches and dents in it, but it only made it look cooler it reminded me of the hero's from legends, though I knew that he wasn’t one of them, he didn’t have heroes grace and aura most likely he was just a simple soldier, maybe even a deserter only this could explain why he is located in the middle of this forest.
The soldier slowly started to approach the Alpha wolf, while still stretching his right hand with the help of his left. At this moment I was sure that he went insane and was trying to kill himself in the fastest way, why you ask well because he have a sword oh his belt but he is approaching the wolves unarmed.
“Useless soldier, well at least he is making enough commotion for the Alpha wolf to ignore me.” I wasn’t that scared of these monsters because I still had few ways to escape, I still could go for a swim or try to climb this tree. I always planned to climb trees if I met monsters or even building a base on a tree, but after seeing so many broken trees here and there that were surely broken by monsters I changed my mind.
Just as I wanted to make a rush for it to the pond two wolves jumped on the soldier from the front. “R.I.P.” I said to the soldier with little of sympathy, but then for my surprise, I heard two wails from the wolves. I changed my perspective back to the soldier from the pond and saw that in each of his hands he held one wolf, hugging them both to his chest.
At this moment I couldn’t understand what was going on and just like nothing the soldier made a strong downward motion with both of his hand and broke spines of the wolves. They release few deathly cries and slid to the ground from his hands, both of them were dead.
All that happened just in a second, the soldier didn’t waste any time and jumped on the closest wolf on his left, the wolf barely had any time to react as blood started to spray out of his head as the soldier punched him with a downward motion of his fist, he was flung into the floor with speed and didn’t make another move.
The Alpha wolf was the first to wake up from his daze, he immediately gave a short howl to the wolves nearby, five Iron Fur wolves jumped forward to engage the soldier. The soldier didn’t even hesitated and started to walk to their direction. The wolves groveled as they jumped at him, the soldier released two punches and send three wolves flying to the sides.
Blood and teeth could be seen flying everywhere, I could see fear in the eyes of the wolves but not in the Alpha’s he was standing there unshaken. He released a low growl to the side and two Silver Eye wolves stepped forward. They stood in a position of an attack but at the same time their body didn’t move from the spot and just their eyes started to shine slightly while a weird feeling got released from them, as they howled into the direction of the soldier.
Suddenly the soldier shivered a little and stopped in his tracks, one of the Iron Fur wolves saw the change and jumped onto the soldier. He bit the soldier's wrist but his teeth couldn’t bite through the armor at all, he continued to try to bite through but without any success.
“Hmm, aura attack? Not bad for a low tier monster.” The soldier said such a shame that I still couldn’t understand him, just as he finished his sentence I could feel some kind of a change in him. “Did he just become bigger? No… I think he just released his presence.” The soldier could move again, he instantly kicked the wolf that was hanging on his hand and like the other wolves he didn’t stood up after hitting the ground.
He released another hit to the last wolf and released a scary gaze to the two silver wolves that used some kind of a skill on him. He dashed at them with great speed and grabbed both of their mouths with his hands shutting them tight. With another flick of his hands, both of the wolves were send flying to the sides, one of them hit a tree while the other one hit a rock both of them didn’t move anymore as the others.
Currently few of the wolves started to get so frightened that they showed signs of retiring, but Alpha released a strong growl to their directions, they could only release a small whine back, it looked like they were afraid of the alpha a lot more than the soldier. Alpha howled and more three wolves joined him as he advanced forward to the soldier.
The Alpha wolf was at least one and a half times bigger that the other wolves, his fur was much thicker than them as well. If anyone would saw this wolf they would scream in fear and would be crushed only by its presence, but today this mighty wolf looked like a small puppy standing in front of a tiger and that tiger was no other than the ‘sleeping beauty’, the soldier that I thought will die in a second as he engaged the wolves, I would never expected for him to be able to do all that without even picking up his weapon, it completely made me speechless.
