Chapter 3: Restart Life Start!
The sudden darkness took over. It was punctuated suddenly by a status message. In the same ocean blue color that Higher Being had been.
*Tring* you have been born
Status:

I reacted slightly to my name being Clover but I steeled my determination to once again affirm I would not let something like a name stop me from achieving my own destiny.
As I got used to my surrounding I noticed a viscous warm liquid was suspending me and the surroundings around me seemed to convulse.
As sudden as the darkness had come a blinding light soon appeared around the darkness. I closed my eyes to shield myself from the dazzling brightness that lay around me.
I felt the warmth of a blanket and then as I looked up above and squinted I saw the radiant smile the one who had just given birth to me.
It was…beautiful there was no other word to describe it. That was my last thought as I drifted off.
I soon woke up again and realized I had this sudden hunger that needed to be sated. I wailed and wailed for help. And then she appeared.
There was my mother a woman with striking red hair, and an irresistibly dignified face. Eyes that pierced through any lie and at the same time carried indescribable warmth. A nose that any model would have been proud of and a beaming smile that struck away any insecurity.
Next to her was my father who seemed a proud man grinning from ear to ear. He had a certain playful edge that seem to equally as welcoming as my mother.
As my mother came to my side she gave her breast for nourishment and I was soon filled with relief that spread throughout my body. It was an acceptance I had never felt or remembered before. An acceptance of my very being for all its fault and problems.

I felt…loved.
The time between me being born and my first birthday seemed to slip by. I felt somewhat embarrassed when I pooped my pants but my parents never seemed to mind. Everything around me felt massive, the surroundings seemed almost like obstacles in whatever way I looked at it.
As my first birthday approached I seemed to be more and more introduced in my surroundings. My parents delighted in describing what everything was to me as I explored whatever took my fancy.
As I listened in my parents conversations one of the first things I started to understand were their names, Aster was my fathers name and my mothers was Heather. Through the course of the year I had slowly grasped the nuances of this new language as I listened more and more to my parents’ conversations.
As I explored I came across a book that took my fancy. Its rich dark red covers drew me to it and my parents took notice.
My mother spoke, “This a Book…B-O-O-K”
As I opened the book I saw a whole new alien language that I did not recognize. It had the structure of English but the symbol base of the Chinese language. My father noticed my interest in these symbols and asked me if I wish to start learning reading.
“Yes!” I replied so interested in learning a new world’s knowledge.
He whispered to my mother, “Our son’s so smart. He’s learnt to talk and speak and he already wants to learn how to read!”
And so began the nightly reading teaching me to slowly read this new alien language. After my father came back from his work, he’d immediately come to my room and start teaching me the symbols of this world.
It was much harder than learning to speak and talk as the language seemed more archaic than languages I had learnt in my previous life.
But by the time I was 2 years old I had soon mastered how to read. And was able to read by myself with occasionally asking my mother whenever I struggled with words.

As I grew older and got my hands on more and more books I started to understand about the world and place that I had started my life on. The continent I was on was called Alexandria. I was a human but there were a great many races that seemed to reside on this continent. It seemed my mother had lived on one side of the continent while my father on the other.
When I asked my parents about how they met. My father smiled,
“Hah son, I was a bit of an adventurer who explored around and met a great many girls in my travels. Your father was a little bit of a player,” He winked, my mother playfully slapped and continued the story,
“Ah yes I remember when your dad came round he just wouldn’t stop bugging me. Constantly bugging me and asking me out on a date.”
“It only took me five times though! Then you gave in, and the rest is history.”
It seemed my parents love each other a lot. They are always smiling and laughing around each other.
As I was about to hit 4 years old I asked my parents about the blue Status box that I had seen before my parents my father was surprised,
“Clover, you’ve seen the Status window? Usually us parents only talk about the status window when you hit 5 years old. How did you find about it?
“Yeah I have a brief memory of it when I was born. I’ve never seen it since but I was always curious about it.”
“Ah yes the Status window something our world has never truly explained. But nevertheless ever sentient being on our world except for the demon beings is able to call it up.”
“How do you call it up?” I asked.
“All you have to say is “Command Status!” and then think as strongly about that the status window and it will appear. Why don’t you try it now?”
“Command Status!” I exclaimed. But nothing came out.
“Try it again but imagine strongly of everything you know about the status window.”
“Command Status!” I shouted, closing my eyes thinking of the ocean blue box.

I saw everything you’d expect from an RPG like game all except for the Special Talent which drew my gaze,
“Does everyone have a Special Talent?”
“Yes,” my father continued, “Every usually has some type of small boost that boosts there initial began like “Extra Strong +10 strength” or “Health boost +200”. Usually it helps out in the beginning but decreases effectiveness as you train up.”
“Wow that really is amazing.”
My father continued, “Only you can see your status. No one else is able to unless you authorize it. Most people avoid the annoyingness of constantly having to call it up and instead buy a Status Tag.”
He gestured to his own Status Tag which was looked blank, “Authorize Clover.”
As he said those words suddenly the stats appeared on the tag.

He continued, “In my case my special talent is Brute strength. Which allowed me to power through any monster that fought against me. I’ll buy you a Status Tag for your birthday tomorrow if you want? Do you have anything else to ask before you sleep?”
“Nothing else Dad, thanks for being so patient.” I didn’t want to hassle my father anymore as it was already late. Besides I could explore on my own the Status Tag.
I went upstairs and prepared to sleep, looking forward to my 4th birthday and my very own Status Tag.

Dungeon Darwinism: Deepest Dungeon
Dungeons are a lot like sea turtles. They’re born in clutches of dozens, if not hundreds. A hundred may be born at one time, buried in still burning cities, or in forests where the canopy hides the sky, or in ocean trenches at the bottom of the sea. But only one in a clutch ever makes it to the surface. Everyone knows about dungeons— monstrous factories that emerge out of the earth, full of riches and Arcana and power— and monsters. But most of humanity only know about the dungeons that make it. Mark doesn’t know anything about dungeons. He isn’t from this world, and only as a victim of circumstance has he become an unwilling half of a dungeoncore. The other half is a Dark Lord. (Rewrite)
