《The Perfect Specimen》I Will Want Something In Return

He walks out of the slaughter house and into the hallway to see Alistair looking up at the ceiling, taking deep sniffs. Looking completely deranged, eyes bloodshot red, skin as pale as snow, drool leaking from his mouth.
Alistair snaps his head down towards the bowl in the boys hand and pounces at him with no warning. The boy swiftly throws the bowl at Alistair and dodges to the side, ready to counter attack.
What he sees next though makes him speechless. Alistair is stooped over, with his head in the bowl of 'The Rough Special' and licking it clean. Seemingly content with this alone, he ignores the student completely.
The moment Alistair gets to the slaughter house with the student, he is assaulted by a familiar enticing stench. One that causes a new reaction with the spirals inside of his body. The spirals in his head and heart slow to crawl, while the speed of the spiral in his stomach doubles.
He loses all rationality from the pain once the student walked by him with a bowl oozing with the delicious smell. He is still able to see and process the situation clearly, except his body is moving on its own.
The spiral in his stomach became such a driving force that he could practically hear it telling him, "You must eat what's in that bowl!"
As he eats, he feels as if the spiral inside of him is supplementing his body, causing the sickly pale skin to turn a shade rosier. However, that does not appear to be all that it is capable of. However there is no more food to gain benefits from.
Thus the spiral inside of his stomach spins furiously in frustration. Causing Alistair to look for more of the food.
He sees the boy off to the side and decides to dash into the room he just came out of. What he sees leaves him flustered. The scent began assaulting him from every direction as he sees the same type of monster being processed one by one into a machine that gives off the pleasant aroma.

Right next to him he sees a vat of bloody organs. Without being polite he dunks his head inside of the vat and begins feasting. He sucks down the entire vat worth or Rough Special, leaving a small amount left for a snack later.
He begins to notice a significant change in his body.
His once famished body begins to look healthier. Although from outside of his outfit it would be very difficult to tell, but his stomach is no longer as concaved as it once was. His arms now have a slightly meaty definition to them. He is now at the normal healthy starting line for human children around 7 years old.
Once done eating, the spirals inside of his body regulate back to their normal speeds and the spiral inside of his stomach thickens in size by the breadth of a hair. He notices that the changes to his body are not as significant as before in comparison to how much he ate.
The first time he ate a small amount barely even qualifying as a snack. That gave him the gift of sight. The next time at the feast, after eating his full his throat and vocal cords were repaired granting him the gift of speech. Now he ate his fill and it only made him look a small amount healthier.
He lifts his head from the vat and takes the bowl that he got from the student, scoops up the remaining Rough Special, and keeps it for later. Afterwards, he ponders about the changes to his body and why they vary.
He also starts to wonder why his diet is unique. After the spiral in his head took the information given by the people at the cafeteria and the feast, he is able to piece together that his diet is anything but normal. He thinks to himself,

"There is only one place I can go to find out more about why I'm different from everyone else, the library. To do that though I will need to learn to read...but how? At this rate I will have to many situations where I will be constantly in trouble."
At this moment due to his acute hearing he hears the sound of the student creeping in through the door.
The student stealthily walks into the slaughter house ready for a fight as he needs to get Alistair to the cafeteria to eat the Rough Special. However, he sees Alistair covered in the processed blood and the vat of Rough Special gone.
"What the hell man!? How can you stomach that stuff, and where did you put all of it?! it's double the size of you!" He blurted out, revealing himself from hiding. Alistair turns around lets out a satisfying belch. He smiles to the student and says,
"That stuff was amazing! How come they don't serve this at the cafeteria?"
The student at this point decides to give up on being surprised. He brings the back of his hand to his chest over the golden circle and says, "Mrs. Diamond, there's no more Rough Special...The new kid ate all of it."
He hears a reply back instantly only giving one statement, "Fulfill your oath or suffer the consequences." It was at this point he didn't know whether to laugh or cry. How can he fulfill his oath with the main dish missing.
He turns to Alistair and asks, "Come on man, you got to have left some of it! There was so much left in there when I got the bowl of-" He looks at Alistair's hands and sees him holding the bowl. He asks while clinging to his final hope, "Is there anymore left in there?"
Alistair looks down at the bowl, then back to the boy and smiles coyly, "Oh yeah, there is definitely some in here. I was planning on having it as a snack for later but I can give it to you if you want, but I will want something in return."
The student looks at Alistair as if he's stupid and says, "You know I could just beat you up and take the bowl from you right? Why would I need to make a deal with you?"
Alistair smiles at the boy and says, "Because I can eat this faster than you can get to me."

Tur Briste
A Druid cultivation novel. Borrows concepts from Wuxia and Xianxia but using Druid myth and lore. More on this at the bottom. Crow is son of Maddox, a Druid with an ancient bloodline and a people with a story spanning toward the beginning of time. Cursed, unfated, and a heap of bad luck have brought him only pain and suffering, but nothing will stop him. Nothing can stop him. A son of Maddox doesn’t bow his head. A son of Maddox understands that only a man with roots, with something to lose, will fight until the last drop of blood leaves his body. The Draoidh were once a proud people. They were both respected and hated for their form of righteousness. Power wasn’t something they gained through the might of their arms, but through intelligence. Their fall was all the more disheartening for the weaker cultivators. The tens of thousands of years that followed… chaos reigned. They forced Draoidh until most fled to the lower realms, nearly wiped out and exhausted. They went into hiding and became known as the Druids of the Oak. The Druid Order wasn’t the powerhouse it had been, and only nine of the major clans survived the calamity. Their bloodline weakened, as well as their prestige. Even the remaining clans fought amongst each other. Already on the decline and near extinguished, the Maddox clan can only struggle for survival, but their foundation wasn’t a joke. Weakened, but not weak. The other clans will understand this difference soon enough. Tur Briste, the Shattered Tower, awaits Crow’s ascension. Reaching the upper realms is only the first step in reestablishing the Draoidh. The Druids of the Oak remembered every betrayal and grievance, and they’ll return to power and reclaim what once belonged to them. The upper realms may have forgotten, but the Druid Order has not. Please Note:1) This is harem story. There are only a few chapters with sex, and it’s not a focus of the story. I’ll only add graphic sex if I feel the story needs it, so not gratuitously. Either way, Crow has several women. This is in line with Druid/Celtic history, and harems/reverse harems were an accepted part of their culture. Further, they had open marriages, meaning the man or woman could end their marriage at any time. While it was still a patriarchy, women had almost equal power. They were a very progressive culture. 2) There is a period of a 30-50 chapters where Crow loses the ability to cultivate like a Druid so he adopts an eastern body cultivation method for a while. This is temporary, but some people feel it’s misleading, so I am pointing it out ahead of time. I promise, the Druid stuff comes back, and 90% of the lore/myths/creatures/gods are all related to Druid/Celt/Irish/Scottish history. 3) I use many original names, most of which are in Gaelic or Irish. In the story, I refer to this language as Ancient. I enjoy all kinds of folklore and myths, so I encourage you to google those original names as they arrive. I give some background on them at the end of the chapter in my author’s note. 4) I use Ogham runes a lot, these are like the Druid alphabet, and they based each rune on a sacred tree so they also have symbolism associated with them. Again, feel free to google that too. It’s pretty neat stuff. Quick Translations:Draoidh = DruidTur Briste = Shattered Tower or Broken Tower Release Schedule:As of Oct 1, 2021- 3 chapters released every Sunday (May have up to two bonus chapters)- Side character chapters… this might be bonus chapters I release through the week. So they won’t count toward the 3 chapters on Sunday.- Please understand I work full time, have two kids, and can’t spare as much time as I’d like toward my writing. Maybe in the future I can switch to doing this full time, but for now 3 chapters is a comfortable pace for me. Lastly… I very much appreciate all my readers and thank you for allowing me to entertain you!

Magikind
Disclaimer: This is a low-fantasy, soft-sci-fi genre. In fact, it's a variety of genres, so don't be too put off by the tags Through several centuries of selective breeding, these beings, known as mages, have become part of the very foundations of society. However, some humans refused to change or adapt along with them. They believed in purity and refused to interbreed with magikind. Known as the manush, they were a rarity among society. Now, in the fifth millennia, the manush are thought to be extinct. With magikind ruling the world, a three-way war grips society between Eurasia, Afro-Australian Alliance and The Americas. In these uncertain times, a manush called Gin enters the Eurasian army. From there, our journey unfolds. A story of how mankind could realistically evolve while still pushing boundaries. PS.
