"This is bullcrap!" Alex shouted, he'd been trying to open the safe for hours now, their was many impressive dent in it but the doors remain close. But the most frustrating part was the long treck he had to do back and forth just to get from camp to the room.
Alex had been questioning Abraham sanity, it was obvious that what he wanted to destroy was in the safe but how was he s'oppose to do that. Let not mention his curiosity was killing him, after all this, did Abraham expect him to just go an destroy the safe and its content without even having a small peak. If getting to it was easy then no, but he'd been working at it for months now. Getting to know what was in it, that he wanted him to destroy had become some what of an obsession over his time here.
"Look like I need to make another trip to the city." Alex said as he sigh, he pack up his stuff and move back to his camp. From their he took another week long journey from the city back to the town, just to get what he needed.
And here he was back in the room, but he brought a trolley with him this time he was moving the safe out of the room. During his time down their he had hope that the safe code was somewhere. But he had no such luck, the books did make some interesthing reading materiel. The science books gave him a nice refresher on many subjects, an the mystical books gave hime some suprise as some of them where actual introduction into magic. Others were about variouse material use in rituals.
He'd tried the intro spell for beginner, sadly he didn't have enought to even light a candle. So now he knew that he had really nothing special about himself, except that he knew that he was in the marvel universe. "Damn you!!!" Alex wasn't very clear who he was angry at, God, the universe, web novels or himself. He still keep the books, hence it was one of the reason he didn't want to use more drastic measure on the safe inside the room. Another would be closes in enviroment would have him burried underground, if he was to use explosive on the safe, to which he was very tempted to do.

"Im only going to blow it up, if I can't open it up by drilling it." Alex said as he arrive at camp. To get the safe up in camp he had to build a pulley system just to get the damn safe out of the hole he'd dugg.
"Now you piece of shit, Im going to finaly open you up an see what makes you so frigging special." Alex said in glee at the safe back in camp. In his imagination the safe was begging for his life as he was drilling it. Alex was laughing maniacally during the whole drilling, it was apparent that he'd gone a little insane over his time alone here.
With a final crack, the door of the safe came off as Alex gave a final tugg with the crow bar. "Who laughing now, huh bitch, who laughting now! MouHAHAHAhahaha..cough...cough." Alex shouted in exhilaration as he laugh like a true villain at his victory over the safe.
Once he'd calm down he finally check the content of the safe, he was expecting gold, jewels, pirate treasure or the secret of the universe. "What the hell." Alex said all that was inside was a single book, it wasn't even a book it was a personnal journal.
"Oh God, did Abraham send me all the way here to destroy his personal writhing of porn. Is this the 1940ht versions of delete my flash drive." Alex said as fell to his knees, he was even more confuse this build up was way over the top, their had to be something.
He turn to the journal. "The answer has be in their, or else Im going to find a way to bring Abraham back, so that I can kill the bastard." Alex said as he reach for the journal once he pick it up he notice a lettre under it.
"Oh, what this?" Alex put the journal aside an look at the letter, It was a letter adress to Friedrich. Alex debated about opening the letter or not, on one hand it was adress to Friedrich, but on the other it might reveal something important about all of this.

"Screw it, if its personal I'll stop and apologies to Friedrich when I see him." Alex said as he open the letter.
The content of the letter, was an apology to Friedrich for not being their when their parents died an for years of distance between the two. It then explaine that he was the only one he could trust, and if he got this letter then the natzis had not destroy the town, and he was abel to get to the safe easily. "Easy my ass." Alex said in anger. It went on about how he knew that his brother would know the combination of the safe, as it was the date of their parent death. "Buch of......" Alex keep cursing as he had no clue about that date the two never spoke of that day.
Finally the letter ended by pleading to burn the journal without looking in it, Abraham in the letter admited that it was his life work an he couldn't bring himself to destroy it. But at the same time this could never fall in the hands of evil men, as it would alter the very world they knew. It ended by saying he loved him and was sorry about everything.
Alex staired at the letter, he read it again and again he focus on the part where he mention his life work and he couldn't destroy it. "But he did destroy it, didn't he?" Alex whisper as he remember back when they were escaping from Germany, he had come to get him in his lab. He found him burning all his research in the lab, so that the natzis couldn't get theirs hands on it, at the time he claim he'd left nothing behind and that everything he needed was in his head.
"I ask him on several occasion, if he had anything as a back up. He lied, this journal is the last of his research. Oh God, I have a chance to have the same ability as Steve." Alex said as he gently put down the letter.
"But I got myself a morale issu here, I did promise to destroy this journal. But on the other this is what I desperately needed to change the course of history as I see fit." Alex pondered about his problem, slowly a grin surface. " What the hell am I worried about, I spent two months digging around, and now Im just going to trow away this chance without even looking at it before I decide." Alex chuckled. "I'll keep my promise an burn the journal, but I never promise that I wouldn't copie it on something else."
He didn't feel any guilt about his decision, for far to long he'd wanted a way to grow strong, only to be denied at every turn. First he wanted smarts only to find he always fell short of the line of genius. He then tried physical strength only to be limited by being a normal humain. He hope to have a mutant power but nothing, he hope to have a system or computer chip but again nothing. Then he tried to have world shaking influence, by becoming a spy but their again he was stop. When the program came on for the super soldier serum he applied only to be denied by a friend. His work at Stark ended as well, and a few days ago he learn he did not possess any magic affinity.
So after trying again and again the traditional paths, he hope he could finally find his path with this journal. Alex took a deep breath, please don't let be some erotical literature porn thing, he prayed.
Opening the journal, he saw two names one was Abraham Erskine the other gave him a pause when he readed it. Dr Laurence Van Helsing.

Fallen
Hundreds of years ago, the servant god Elsyn declared that they would destroy humanity entirely, explaining it as their duty as humanity’s peacekeeper. When the gods saw it fit to send someone to oppose the fallen servant, Iztris—the gods’ own servant and follower—visits Cheryn. Iztris requests the aid of Alyson and Jacob, the oldest two heirs of Cheryn and the only ones given the gods’ offer of the ‘assurance of victory,’ and the heirs agree. There will come a time when humanity does fall—but none of them would allow that to happen by the hands of a being just as flawed as mortals. I recommend reading the story by volume, instead of by the order the chapters were posted. This story was beta read by Mad Sadie. Many thanks! Please note that some characters use different pronouns depending on the chapter’s view and the speaker. Iztris, for example, is referred to with neutral pronouns by Elsyn (in most cases) and themself, and after being introduced as such they are referred to with male pronouns by Alyson and Jacob.

Bastard's Wrath
The Wyvern reared its humongous head, serpent neck coiling back, onyx scales of opulence shimmering in the dimness of the cloud smothered sky. It spoke, eye's ashen, like the surface of a star, "What is it you desire, boy?" The word's rolled from it's pointed maw, tongue flicking, it's deep and ferocious voice sending the ground below rumbling. Damien looked up, hair sodden with rain, his face battered beyond recognition, his lips curled into a snarl. He had gone past the point of being frightened; he was tired of his weakness. He spoke, voice wavering, mist floating from his mouth in the coldness: "I want them dead. I want everyone who stabbed me in the back; dead." The Wyvern smiled, rows of teeth exposed, "Then sacrifice it. Sacrifice your humanity." - The story of a bastard within a crippled family, who beyond all odds becomes known as the Greatest Swordsman to live: the one that, even the Gods, would someday fear.
