《A marvel rise》Chapter 31

As soon as Alex hit the ground back in New York, Ms Bradley was waiting for him.
"Mr Grey, I hope your trip was to your liking?" Faith said, as she smiled and eyed the dozen teens behind him.
"Yes I returned with a bit more than I was expecting." Alex said, as he looked behind him and shrugged. He looked back with a grin. " So much so, that I believe Im going to adopt some childrens." Alex said.
Faith just rolled her eyes, she had became immune to her boss's eccentric behavior. That one time she walked in on him on all four, playing horsey with her daughter, nearly give her a heart attack. Of course with time she found him doing or saying more outrageous things, at some point she gave up. Simply accepted that her boss might be crazy, but he was always good to those that he consider his, and that included her and her daughter. To which she was grateful, her own daughter had started taking to call him uncle Grey. He reciprocated it by calling her niece Sarah, to her annoyance and his amusement.
"Since we've spoken last, there has been some changes to the situation, Peggy Carter has been arrested by the SSR, for treason and helping the fugitive Howard Stark who is still on the run. As we speak, she should still be getting interrogated, oh and Mr Jarvis is running around like a headless chicken. He has tried to contact Mr Stark about the current events but with little successes. It is my belief that Mr Jarvis will put in play a risque move." Faith said as she handed over some files.
Alex took a quick look at them, as they made their way to the car, he looked over and saw all the teenager getting into a bunch of nice cars to be brought over to their new home.
"Give the kids a good check up, and then report their condition to me. As for Ms Carter, sigh, contact the senator tell him about boost." Alex said
"Sir are you sure, this is boost we are talking about. Trading it in order to clean it up this mess, seem to be a high price to pay." Faith said, she was angry that such a powerful drug would be lost to them.

Alex simply nodded yes in silence, a few months prior, the team he had working on one of the formulas, had figured out how to engineer a boost to a human body. What it did was to offer for half an hour of super human strength, speed, reflex, endurance, all sense are heighten and some minor regeneration. Not enough to grow back an arm or even a finger, but enough so that bruises and cuts would heal almost instantly. The super power boost gave up to three times the strength, speed, so on and so on. Of course this also came with a price, for one, the subject would go into a period of weakness once he/she got out of the drugs effect. The second would be a desperate need of nutrient, the body in that state would burn up all reserves in the body, fat, muscle, blood etc. So once someone came out of boost their body would be much thinner than before. Also if one would inject a second dose right after the first injected dose was over, they lasted only another ten minute, before dying of cardiac arrest, since the strain on the body would be to much. It was recommended that after one dose, a period of 48 hours of resting and eating was to be followed before taking another dose. Of course this only applied to a normal every day human, with a mutant it was unknown what effect it would have.
"Yes Ms Bradley, I'm sure, besides its not the best we got, its only the first generation we are handling over. Now i will go and pay a visit to the SSR, and hope I can find and stop Mr Jarvis before he does something stupid. Ah good you brought a suit for me." Alex said, as he started to change inside the car.
"One more thing sir, the last material you needed for project rebirth came in yesterday." Faith said.
Alex suddenly froze, on one hand he should go and save Peggy, but on the other the first step, on gaining power was just on the horizon. He hesitated for a moment to finally release a breath and coming to the conclusion, that just the prep work for the first step would take hours. So helping Peggy now was the better option, but he made a promise to himself, if anybody came between him and his promise land, he was going to destroy them.

"To the SSR please, lets finish the job before I run out for ice cream." Alex said, to himself quietly.
Faith was on the phone talking to the senator about the deal, Alex was sitting in the car, going throught the various reports he had missed during his (vacation) in Russia. Faith hung up the phone telling him that the deal was on and that the senator was more then happy about the results. Alex nodded, but he couldn't shake the feeling that he somehow lost on this deal, he remembered very vaguely this episode or was it the following episode.
Point is he knew that in the show Agent Carter, Peggy turn out fine, but he wasn't going to let things play out just because she ended up fine.
"Sir, we are here, and I think that I also see Mr Jarvis sir."
Faith said as she pointed to a tall man walking with purpose, holding a suit case.
"Driver bring us beside him." Alex said
As the car drove by Jarvis it slowed down, the widow came down and Alex called out to Jarvis. It took a few more calls to grab his attention since the man seem to be very distracted.
"Mr Grey? What are you doing here?" Jarvis said as he bent down to the window.
"Well Mr Jarvis, Im here for what I suspect is the very same reason as you. To help Peg out of the jam she manage to jump into." Alex said.
As he looked at Jarvis he could see an obvious relief coming over him.
"Do you have a plan?" Jarvis asked, his voice trembled as if he was on his last rope.
"Already in motion, do you want to come with?" Alex said with a smille.
"Yes please sir, are you up to date on the situation?" Jarvis said as he open the car door.
"Pretty much, Ms Bradley I see you later at the office il go with Jarvis to resolve this." Alex said as go out of the car.
"Sir, take this just in case thing go south." Faith said as she handed him his gun and silencer with extra clips.
"Thank you." Alex said, he didn't refuse, because this was the Marvel universe, a simple walk could end up in a epic gun battle, or a villian announcing that he planted a fricking bomb, somewhere for some crazy reason. And he did now recall that there was some kind of fight around this time and a bomb maybe. As he was stepping away from the car after putting his gun away, Faith took out a knife and passed it to him.
"I don't think I'll need the knife Ms Bradley." Alex said as he held up his hand in a stop.
Faith just keep starring at him not moving holding up the knife, after a few moments, she push it toward him.
"Take the knife Sir." Faith said, their was something about it, that brought terror in any little boy, it was the same voice his mother use when she was very, very angry at him.
Cough, cough. "Yes, thank you, Ms Bradley." Alex said in a small voice.
"You're very welcome sir, I hope to see you soon sir." Faith said with a bright smile, like if her ordering him around was a lie.
As the car drove away, Jarvis looked to it and back to Alex.
"Ms Bradley seem...." Jarvis said.
"Terrifying, just never tell her that, besides if this is all I have to suffer in order to have the best damn right hand women, then so be it." Alex said.
Both decided not to delve any deeper into it, and turn to the SSR building, in order to take Peggy out of the fire she had unwittingly created herself.
