《The Game of Gods》Book 2 - Epilogue

Alaria was standing behind Bob, watching as the battle unfolded above the table. In the beginning, the gods had been boisterous, talking about how their champion was going to kill the most monsters. That excitement had quickly dimmed and then vanished completely as the fight dragged on.
“How did this happen?” Saraswati asked as she saw Charlotte collapse after using the spells.
“We’re going to lose them all,” Odin remarked with a grimace. His champion Sierra was doing well but he was under no illusion that she would survive if Charles and Kira fell.
Zeus snorted and drank from his goblet. “Makes me glad, I haven’t chosen a champion yet.”
Brigit surged to her feet and threw the closest thing she had on hand at him, a pair of twenty-sided dice. “If you three had chosen your champions like you were supposed to, we might not be in this position!” She was taking the potential loss of Kira strongly. She had truly been hoping she wouldn’t lose yet another character.
“The one I wanted to choose wasn’t ready yet, she still isn’t,” Arinna whispered, feeling for her fellow gods.
Shiva frowned as he continued to watch the battle unfold. “For my part, I have not seen any worthy of becoming my chosen champion. That said I do apologize. Their fate could possibly have been avoided had I chosen in time.”
They continued to watch until the end, where each sighed in relief as they saw Kira finish off the goblin lord. A distant scream could be heard from a room nearby as he died.
Saraswati looked up to Bob, a sad smile on her lips. “I am sorry that your chosen was fated to die this day, it will make his sister most unhappy.”

Bob pushed his chair back from the table and stood, “It’s alright, it is for the best this way,” An unseen glimmer of delight hiding in his eyes. “I think we need to make some changes to the campaign after this, it is abundantly clear that we have been rushing the humans. We need to give them some time to stabilize and become stronger.”
“I think that would be wise,” Odin said pushing back from the table, content in the knowledge that Sierra had survived.
The large door to the room banged open, hitting the god who had been leaning against the wall next to it. Hel stomped into the room and headed for Bob. The side of her body that was decaying threatening to slough off with every step. Her congealed flesh jiggled unsightly with every movement distracting anyone from noticing the other half of her body. It was a thing of beauty, but it was lost in the moment.
Alaria was pushed roughly out of the way, stumbling at the unexpected action. Her head hit the side of the table with a crack and she slumped to the floor as Hel walked uncaring past her body.
The roomful of gods gasped in unison as they saw Alaria fall and quickly scrambled away from the table.
“What just happened?” She screeched with a dry raspy voice.
Behind her Alaria stood and felt at the lump on her head, healing it even as she glared at the goddess in front of her.
Bob stepped back, having watched with relief as she stood. Hel following his eyes turned and saw the bottomless blazing eyes of Alaria.
“Who?” She began as Alaria raised her hand.
With a vicious crack Alaria backhanded the impertinent goddess, sending her flying across the room and killing her instantly. The blow erasing her very being from existence. Such was the fate of a god who dared to strike an actual God.

Alaria had already dismissed the now-dead god, looking inside herself towards where her power originated. Her control had suffered when she hit her head, she would need to spend a great deal of time going through everything she controlled. That lapse of control could have untold consequences otherwise.
All eyes but Bob’s were focused on her, and as such, they all failed to notice the gleam of light that appeared in the corner of the room.

The Last Journey
A slice of life litrpg story... or is it? It's burning slow, though. Moving on: War comes with a great cost. Lives and time wasted for most part. One could either be run with sword, be poisoned, be bowed, and sometimes meet their end with just a tiny speck of wood. With magic, it becomes even more colorful. From lightning, to worse poison, to hovering rocks, to weird bladed leaves, to whipping roots, and to a lot more odd things easily reasoned with magic. A wonderful creation. But once used to something more than wonder, more than tricks to gather laughs, it becomes worse. War becomes worse. For there is not only blood to be spilled. A particular town almost met the same end. Soldiers geared with swrords and bows came with mounts. Horses burning lush grasses as it cracked boulders and the soil alike with every step. The kind that only war ones could ever do. Even strange wheeled creations that oozed danger were towed, loaded with something meant to destroy. But not once had they acted upon what such devices should've done, nor what an an army is supposed to do. Siege never occurred, as much as a command to war. No. Magic existed so a simple little fire is all the worth the town has. No sword drawn, no arrows nocked, nothing. Just some mana spent and through the ash they march. That was how Nudius saw her end. It came not even as a surprise. She didn't have the moment to fully register what occurred before she found herself in an empty dark space. Life lost, time spent. All from a fire that had not even touched her. But she knew very well that it was magic. Something she wished to have and strived for to have. Yet it seemed that none of it would matter now. Nudius was well aware of what the color around meant, of the odd situation, of the unfeeling state of her being. It was death and that was it. She didn't have to worry or dream further. Although there wasn't what she truly wanted in what death to her is, but at least, Nudius was comforted to what she believed death is. Rest. But little did she know there's something more than that empty space. It wasn't only the promise of rest, but was also more than she could ever hope for. Another chance at life. Another chance to dream. ***Tags are there just in case. You never know! Umm... HI-MI-TSU. Story blurb+: This is slow burn, quite slice of life story about a girl learning magic. All the while as she fatten herself up. So yeah, progression fantasy. But there's Litrpg! Numbers! Magic! Spells! And of course! There's something more. But read on ahead, please. Oh yes. Plot! There is, too. Disclaimer: The cover isn't made by me. Just layered it with a text. I got it from a free website, if I correctly recall. I'll see to it. (Haven't worked on it.)

An Id of Primal Chaos
TAG DISCLAIMER: The tags 'Portal Fantasy / isekai', 'High Fantasy', and 'Non-Human Lead' do not take place until later on in the novel. Probably mid-way through the first volume. The 'villainous lead' tag is a very loose tag. Some of the things the mc does can be considered villainous to those with a staunch moral code, however, I have not made the mc out to be overtly villainous. True Title: Advent of the Silent Storm (I came up with the original title a while ago, before I had even written a single chapter. It still kind of fits but this new title fits a lot better. I would change it but I don't know if it would screw up the recommendation algorithm.) Excerpt: My mind wanders through the soup of unconsciousness, still startlingly awake despite my physical form’s stasis. Electricity completely paralyzes the air around me and lightning flashes in a constant strobe of blinding light. The ground, thousands of feet below my being has been wiped clean of all manmade artifice and natural beauty; leveled, through absolute power. My power. Synopsis: Tetal Faelen, a very successful businessman with lofty goals, is introduced to an omniscient being through less than pleasant means. This being has an irresistible offer for Tetal with next to no downside. Tetal can’t help but wonder, “What’s the catch?” Additional Notes: Second novel I have started within the Web of Interconnected Realities. My other novel is not posted on this site so don't bother looking for it. I might post it here in the future.
