《Genesis - A LitRPG modern day cultivation story》Chapter 2: Ceremony

Jade was standing awkwardly in a row with nine others, all waiting to finally awaken their very own concept.
The Dome’s shiny ceiling span above them working as a massive spotlight for the stage they were on. Awakening usually takes no more than couple minutes.
They stood in front of the awakening crystal, with their stones prepared. The 8 feet tall crystal gently hovering in front of them gave of waves of mystical blue light.
“Step up Initiates 71 to 80”, the official said with a mixture of laziness and gravitas, a truly bizarre mixture. Probably a given if you do this four times a month.
They all stepped forwards to the crystal letting the blue light wash over them. One after the other people’s stone started to light up starting the awakening.
Jade’s stone did not light up. She started worrying that it was defective after all, when a blinding light stung her eyes and she had to avert her gaze from her awakening stone.
After a couple seconds the light died down enough for her vision to come back. A worried face looked upon her from above her.
She was lying on the ground the official above her.
“Are you alright? Your stone must be very potent to react so fiercely to the crystal energies.”
“Umm, yeah probably. It was pretty expensive.” Jade lied to his face. He did look a little dubious but seemed to brush it off.
“You should check your status.” He smiled, “All my readings indicate that you are already done awakening, you actually made a new record for this Stadium.”
“Uhh”, Jade groaned as she got up, that was the last thing she wanted to be something special. But all that was soon forgotten as she eagerly brought up her Status.

Jade blinked a couple times double checking her stats again. Her concept was, Genesis? And it was hidden?
The only thing in her status that could give her an explanation was the Title that she was apparently awarded when she awakened.
[First of your kind] – You are the first inhabitant of this world to awaken to the Genesis concept. As the first of your kind, you will have great benefits but also great challenges. To aid in the Survival of the First wielder of Genesis Energy her Status and Concept will be hidden or altered for her safety.
In a daze she started to walk of the stage and back to the Offices were her stats and Concept would be recorded. Immediately she started to panic, what are they going to do to me a new Concept and apparently a rare one that awarded her a title.
But the Title said her information would be hidden or altered to protect her. Surely, they will not be able to read that with their equipment, right?
She tried to school her expression and made her way to the next open desk, not registering was not an option. Being a criminal would not improve things, best to get through this and find the hell out what this Genesis thing was all about.

Gaia Ark
Commander Coop, a four-armed, power-armored, super-soldier, undertakes a mission to assassinate the head of a religious cult bent on destroying the UPSF and everyone they protect. But no mission is ever that simple. GAIA ARK is an action adventure hero's journey featuring a cranky cyborg, vampiric sword, alien monsters, and enough self-discovery to provide a character arc. It's a little rough around the edges, a little crude. I started writing this story on November 2, 2018. This story is mid-composition. Please expect clunky prose, notes [in brackets], and incomplete...

Homeland
NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER -- In Cory Doctorow’s wildly successful Little Brother, young Marcus Yallow was arbitrarily detained and brutalized by the government in the wake of a terrorist attack on San Francisco—an experience that led him to become a leader of the whole movement of technologically clued-in teenagers, fighting back against the tyrannical security state.A few years later, California's economy collapses, but Marcus’s hacktivist past lands him a job as webmaster for a crusading politician who promises reform. Soon his former nemesis Masha emerges from the political underground to gift him with a thumbdrive containing a Wikileaks-style cable-dump of hard evidence of corporate and governmental perfidy. It’s incendiary stuff—and if Masha goes missing, Marcus is supposed to release it to the world. Then Marcus sees Masha being kidnapped by the same government agents who detained and tortured Marcus years earlier.Marcus can leak the archive Masha gave him—but he can’t admit to being the leaker, because that will cost his employer the election. He’s surrounded by friends who remember what he did a few years ago and regard him as a hacker hero. He can’t even attend a demonstration without being dragged onstage and handed a mike. He’s not at all sure that just dumping the archive onto the Internet, before he’s gone through its millions of words, is the right thing to do.Meanwhile, people are beginning to shadow him, people who look like they’re used to inflicting pain until they get the answers they want. Fast-moving, passionate, and as current as next week, Homeland is every bit the equal of Little Brother—a paean to activism, to courage, to the drive to make the world a better place.
