Chapter 27: Meeting in the Castle
They called us to the throne room of the Dwarven Castle.
This throne room was vast. Complete with a rectangular table. It has around ten seats for each side and one seat in the middle for the king.
Statues of the kings of old also filled the room.
I prefer to stand since we are just guests.
My stare went directly on the advisors who were restless.
They instantly averted their eyes the moment that they noticed.
Hmm. Is it just me or the advisors look pale?
I think Lina might be unconsciously chilling them with a spell, but I checked, and she wasn’t.
Wargh: “Ehem…”
The king started the meeting.
Wargh: “Everyone, I will call a vote, and this vote will determine whether the whole dwarven race agrees with the alliance or if they don’t.”
And after a few reluctant nods,
Wargh: “Those who don’t agree, please raise your axes.”
The advisors dropped their axes on the table to show that they agree.
Wargh: “No one will fight then?”
He looked at them and was expecting some reaction, but all he got was tired and pale faces.
The king continued,
Wargh: “Let me just introduce you guys to our new ally, Lord Idmon.”
Advisor 1: “Nice to meet you…”
Advisor 2: “It’s an honor, Lord Idmon…”
Advisor 3: “Pleased to make your acquaintance…”
This time trembling replies was what we got.
I address them all in a small area Telepathy spell.
Idmon: “(t) It’s a pleasure for me too. I hope we all get along.”
They froze. The advisors were shocked at the sudden voice that intruded on their minds.
After that, moments of silence followed.
Wargh: “Since no one has any insightful comments…”
The king then stood up.

“I declare that this alliance shall be established, and we will accept and treat each other fairly no matter what their group consists of.”
This time, he put Diamond, his hammer on his shoulder.
Wargh: “I got an outrageous order for everyone.”
Everyone looked at him at the same time.
Wargh: “We will give Idmon’s army all of our people’s corpses along with our dead heroes and craftsmen. No need to voice our opinions! Just come right at me for any objections!”
The advisors look like they had a lot to say, but.
They kept looking at me and the king’s hammer, and I realized that they don’t want to fight for this one no matter how much they want to.
Wargh: “These are trying times, my loyal subjects. I thank you for understanding. We need the help of our loved ones and heroes once again.”
Then he bowed.
“Lord Idmon, I believe it’s appropriate for you to give the name of your country or kingdom already.”
Yeah. We aren’t just a group anymore.
Name. Name.
Un Deth would be a good name. I think.
Idmon: “(t) Our group and our country will be called Un Deth.”
Nods and then some handshaking happened after that.
They felt awkward, shaking a bony hand, but we managed.
I went to the king to thank him personally.
Idmon: “(t) Thank you…”
I bowed and tried to show my gratefulness.
Wargh told me to raise my head.
Idmon: “We both needed it. Let me take you first to our heroes’ resting place.”
.
.
.
In the lowest dungeons of the royal castle, there was a line of tombs and each having a huge tombstone with dwarven writings on it.
“Let’s raise one for now. If you can prove that ancients will be our allies, then that will be the time we will raise the others.”

He walked to the first tomb on the right.
“Let’s revive Master Urah first. He was one of the best blacksmiths in the foundation of our kingdom here. He was also a great warrior wielding a war hammer two times his height.”
I concentrated my energies and cast the spell Raise Dead. It was eerie. The tomb’s cover suddenly shifted to the side. A bony hand came out.
I’m impressed that the skeleton still looks good, minimal cracks and all.
It took him some moments to stand up, but Master Urah was able to rise. He also put on a full plate armor and a full helm that was displayed on his tomb.
Urah: “What is this… I came back from the dead?”
Confused, Master Urah looked at me and then at Wargh.
He can produce a voice! I don’t know how he does that, but high-level undead sometimes can speak.
Wargh: “Master…”
Wargh kneeled.
Wargh: “We need your help once more. We brought you back to ask for your skill and power. The dwarven race is about to be extinct. Please help us.”
The kinda-bulky skeleton approached him and put a hand on his shoulder.
Urah: “Wargh? Little Wargh? Haha, I didn’t recognize you. You’re a king now, eh? Don’t worry; you have all of me as long as I exist here.”
Then he looked at me."
Urah: “It seems you’re the one that’s in charge of the raising of the dead. I’m Urah and thank you for giving me another chance at life. I know undead look sinister, but I don’t have any grudges even I’m with the oldies.
He looked around. He saw the tombs and sighed.
"Be wary of the others, though, since they might attack you once you bring them back.”
Idmon: “(t) You’re very much welcome, Urah. My name is Idmon, and thank you for understanding my actions. I can’t bring back the pain and destruction my race has wrought into your lands, but let me pay back our sins by helping you overcome this crisis.”
We shake our bony hands.
Urah: “Come on, Wargh! Stand up there! I want to meet the kids. I wonder how they look like now.”
Then we went out of the tombs.
.
.
.
We left after a few hours of resting.
King Wargh gave me a lot of reports about the goblin settlements and their unit varieties. They have some differences from the monster registry of humans.
He also gave me books about crafting and smithing. I think I’ll give it a shot later.
Golb also said that he'd have the spear delivered to our base.
Before we march out, I counted our forces for a brief while.
Forty-five various skeletons (human size), 200 goblin skeletons, ten bone golems, one bone behemoth, 15 skeleton hobgoblins, ten skeleton wolves, Me, Bon and Lina.
I had my forces take the bones from our fallen enemies while I toured the capital.
The dwarves and I split the loots of equipment fairly even though we did most of the job. It’s to fortify the relationship.
I asked help for the dwarves to disassemble the bones of the behemoths that we slew. They also helped in the transportation of it to our base.
Now on to the base!
