A beautiful Japanese woman is sitting in her office on the 45th floor of the UDA office building in Kyoto. She is the manager of this UDA Japanese branch, Kyoko Akagi. Her assistant has just told her that the result for today's registration tests has been compiled and sent to her personal files. She opened her holographic computer and soon finds the file she's looking for.

After opening the file and seeing the first name on the list she smiled and uttered, "as expected of the young miss."

The first row showed the name Ichiko Kagawa, age group rank: #1, overall rank: #10. She took a quick glance at the names below and wore a surprised expression after seeing the second name on the list, Alex Volff, age group rank: #2, overall rank: #19. She opened up both results side by side.

"Hmm, interesting. For her to get this result is expected, but for some unknown guy with the same age to rival her is surprising. And his written test just broke the record. Looks like another interesting seedling has appeared," mused Kyoko Akagi to herself while smiling.

Alex didn't immediately go to the Realm of Defenders after he got his Identification Card. He went back home and waited for the next day. He prepares himself mentally before entering. Today is the next day, the day he will officially becomes a Defender. He stood in front of a big round hall that is being guarded by men in uniform that shows UDA on the back. Alex shows his Defender ID card to the guards and was allowed in.

The inside of the portal hall is very simple, it's just one big circle hall with the portal in the middle. The portal was surrounded by thick glass walls and there are two UDA guards guarding the door to the portal. Around the edges there are UDA staffs sitting on the back of a table with holographic computers. There are other Defenders in front of the few tables trying to gain entrance.

Alex already knows the procedure for entrance. He went to one of the idle staff and shows him his ID card. After the staff scanned his ID card, the computer system granted his entrance request: (ALEX VOLFF, 15 YEARS OLD, ENTRANCE #1 GRANTED).

Alex went through the guard to the portals and stood in front of the portal. He touched his hand on the spiraling black lights and immediately his vision went dark for a few seconds After regaining his vision he sees a bright light and realized he's not in the portal hall anymore. He's in the Realm of Defenders now.
